Mine is a day old, and has burn in. Called Samsung, and they said they are going to fix this with a software update.... How, beats me... Love it, but might return mine. Heard the Pixel watch is coming out in May... Might wait it out if this isn't fixed. To me, it sounds like a lot of burn in have been an issue lately
@@xescdelarosa3328 I look forward to AOD, but what's the point of having AOD on a watch that will be defective... I personally can't comprehend it out of a flagship watch per se, especially when competitors perfect that feature. Plus, raise to wake isn't the greatest on a GW4 compared to others out there. Everything else is great, but one defect sold me to return it. I'll wait for the Pixel watch in May
Burn in on the first day is technically impossible. What you had on the first day is definitely image retention. Burn in takes much longer than a day to develop. Image retention will go away if you change the screen content, burn in is not reversible.
@@frankx085 yah it was def screen retention. Stopped always on display and it barely happens now for like a couple of mins n goes away. Plus looks more sharp wen its all black

Very disappointed at Samsung. I also have burn-in on my GW4 :-( Not sure how a "software update" can eliminate what is etched on to the OLED screen. Although when looking closely, it appears as if the burn-in watch face still has some luminance. Perhaps if they put a solid black (#000000 ) overlay (not some shade or tint of black), when swiping out of the watch face, it may minimize the appearance of the burn-in. One can only hope....
@@naseefmecheri8586 what did you do with it? I got 24 hrs with mine and it has burn in issues only if I turn on AOD, if it is off the screen after some minutes gets back to normal so I'm not sure if it is the screen or something that will be fixed with an update
Some weeks ago, i bought a GW4 and had this same issue, 2 days of use and i went to warranty, the gave my money back and now i have a GW4 Classic no issues. I think is a build-defect, they said it was "ghosting display" (pantalla fantasma)
Your Classic 4 is clearly defective. I bought the same model more than a year ago as an upgrade to my Samsung R800 smartwatch. Neither watch has evidence of burn-in and, although I change the watch face weekly, I do use continuous display. It would be interesting to hear what Samsung say about your watch when it is repaired.
if u wanna disappear previous image just turn on flash on watch for 10 minute then check it with gray picture and if u see any ghost picture repeat the process
Deactivate always on display, don't use watch faces that have white or very bright colors. That will make it never have burn in. Any oled, amoled, super amoled or super duper ultra amoled will suffer from burn in if you leave a still image on a noticable brightness without changing it for a long time.
@@xescdelarosa3328 I understand the technical aspects behind burn-in, but I got the watch for the always on display, and if it burns in in less than a month, it is a design issue, Nintendo switch oled display takes thousands of hours of still image exposure for burn in to occur. But this didn't even come close to that.
@@South3481 that video showed an image of the game Zelda. It wasn't very contrasty. If the switch had black and white colors the that would be a completely different thing. High contrast + high brightness + constant image without moving = burn in. In any display, and i repeat, any display.
@@JSR964 No i'ts not fixed, it's hardware issue. But If you change your watchface and check in a cuple of days you will see, that new image is inprinted, not the old one. If there was an old image in top of the old one (inprinted) then we would have burn out issue.
Did you get screen burn in again since you replaced it?After about a month or 2 i still did not expérience burn in but you got me worried lol. I've been running into some issues with Samsung Pay as well and it kinda makes me crazy since the whole purpose of S Pay is not to have to worry about your credit card anymore. But now i still have to bring it with me anyway...
I've not gotten burn in again. But I have noticed pretty severe image retention on all but 1 of my replacement screens. The first replacement only displayed a bit to no image retention. The 2 other replacements I have had since then, display a high level of image retention which is a disappointing show on the quality of the OLED panels for the Watch 4 Classic 46mm. I can't say much about the other watch 4 series watches or even the Watch 5. For Samsung Pay, I have noticed that at times, it does say that it is unable to authenticate or that I need to stay connected to my phone, which is odd since the watch can make payments without the phone being nearby up to a certain number of times.
Just so you know, i checked during the last 24 hours and definitely get image retention too. I mostly notice it on grey backrounds, but it doesn't seem to last very long..
I haven't had this issue yet but I don't use always on display . I also have a LG c9 and have had it for 3 years no burn in yet. But I know what not to do with oled lol

That is not even technically possible. Burn in needs a lot more time, that is just image retention.
