Do all VX110's come with a wear ring? I have not seen anything but stainless steel in my newer Yamaha's. I just picked up a 2007 VX Cruiser for kids and impeller looks beat. I ordered a new ADONIS 15/25 one, but didn't get tool or wear ring.
grate video , I have my 20010 vx110 deluxe, does it pull without the shaft? cause the mechanic is trying to pull and say it is stuck with rust and he has to cut the shaft .. pls let me know and it will help me thk.
If you look on the video when he removes impeller on left side in the hull there’s a cream screw on cap with a cable coming of of it Can anyone tell me what that is for? Thanks
comq since I also have another identical one I tried to change the voltage regulator, the control unit, the battery and also the steering sensor, etc. but the problem persists, if anyone has info to do other poor ones, I thank you, atrendo yours answer
hi can someone help me, I have a yamaha vx1100 from 2005, the bike does not exceed 25 mph, the sipa warning comes on and the engine runs out, the error code it gives me is 55, but I noticed that with the battery flat below 12 volts does not give an error as soon as it recharges above 12.3 volts, it reappears and goes into protections, someone can show me some possible solution to the problem
Not sure why it's affected when the battery voltage changes, but the error code is for the steering sensor. I've never replaced one but look around online and I'm sure you can find help, it should just be in the steering column. $70 for a used steering sensor on ebay. The sensor is for the OPAS system. It gives you that burst of RPM if you are on plane, go to idle and try to turn. I haven't heard of anyone bypassing, so taking apart your handlebars and electronics up front might be your best shot to fix it. Good luck!
@@adrianfisk thank you, as I have another one of them, I managed to try right away, but lerrore persists, I don't know what to try, I tried to change even the control units, the stator, the handlebar buttons, nothing always appears the same error
They don't need to be, but they could be part of the problem. (A visual inspection of the wear ring will show if it desperately needs changing.) If you plan on changing it often for peak performance, I would go with plastic (cheap and replaceable). But if you want to put it in a forget about it I would recommend ss. For brands you can go with OEM Yamaha (you can find it on their parts list) or Riva Racing, they make high quality stuff. I bought mine off of ebay to save money and it fit fine and works well.
Alex C. Did you replace the impeller yet? If you have NOT message me and I can help you.. You shouldn't need to replace your wear ring, and you can also rebuild ur pump for like $50 with new bearings from SBT. if u don't want to go that rout u can buy a used complete pump assembly off ebay for like $150...i run a rental shop and know a lot of these machines.. Lmk why you think u need to replace the pump
William penrose I did not yet. I plan to next month. It’s not that bad to where I need to do it right away. But I plan on adding a few performance parts as well.
Alex C. Hey Alex, I don't normally rebuild my jet pumps until they have roughly 500 hours on them. And the impellers you can use those thousands of hours without replacing them. Rebuilding the jet pump simply consist of removing the bearings inside and replacing them with new bearings and the strainer has two rubber seals on it you just need to replace those and of course repack your bearing with grease. That's it you definitely shouldn't have to replace a jet pump after 120 hours. Ways that you know your jet pump is going is if you start cavitating a lot, cavitation feels like vibration when you give it gas and the ski just seems to go nowhere, that's your impeller moving super fast but not pushing any water What problem are you having with ur ski? Exactly..
You Def don't need to disconnect the battery... Secondly you never should where you hit the impeller with a hammer fk break it free from the wear ring. You need to remove the skid plate to get this to happen.. (u can get around skid plate removal but it's a pain in the ass)
This is a good video but in reality, if its the first time you're taking all that apart, its much more difficult because of the factory sealant they use at Yamaha...all i can say is get your hammer...🔨🔨🔨
the before and after at the end was above and beyond. Good content thumbs up
Thank you for sharing . Fantastic and simple info for the vx110 . I needed to see this to help me make a decision
To break the pump apart, I took off the ride plate then got a small crowbar between the tabs on was able to pry and tap them apart.
Could the impeller be a cause of speed loss?

hi just wondering the torque settings for the bolts 4 the slip ring and the jet pump housing? thanks to anyone that replies ..Phil
Hi, what year model was the ski you did this on?

Mega video thanks 🙏
Do u have the part number or link to where u bought the removal tool?
For the price "for mine waverider 700" set kost -+700e so performamce vise its not worth to change it if it runs..
What impeller did you replace it with?
Great video, thanks.

What is the pitch on the impeller you installed ?
Just have been approximately a 2007 model. It's 2023 and the video is 5 years old and you said machine was 10 years old.

Should wear rings be replaced with new impeller? If so should I go with plastic or ss? Recommend any brands for a 2015 Yamaha vxr?
