Trust me, the easiest way to remove these is to use a bearing slide hammer tool in the non-threaded bolt holes. A few hard pulls in a star pattern always does the trick.
Thanks for such a good video, I am having trouble prying to slide out the bracket, any tips for adhesive and prying?> Could you show?! any special tools to pry it out? what is the product to apply on when you are reassembling it back? 1:43
Does anybody know what part the metal box his left thumb is on at 2:39 is called? It's called a water inlet in the manual, mine is clogged but there seems to be no info about unclogging online.
Thanks for showing telling, knowledge I got from you thanks. If can reply how much does the jet pump cost now I need one, car hit mine no good anymore well keep up the good work please reply the cost on a jet pump well see ya next time see ya bye.
It is pretty tight in there to be able to show it, but there is a little area where the pry bar will fit. A notch on each part, perfect for getting leverage
Great video, thanks! At 4:02 on the video, you are sliding the shaft back into the chassis. Do you remember if there was any type of rubber seal around that hole you are sliding it into (spline end) or just the fiberglass? I sucked in rope and want to make sure I didn't also eat up a seal or something as I'm just seeing the fiberglass hole.
Did the 19+s SVHOs move to a one piece pump that requires the entire assembly to be removed all the way to the transom? My bolts that come off for the exposing of the cone are much shorter and I don't believe I can get the pump/impellar off like the older units. I think I have to remove absolutely all of it. Yes?
Sorry, It wasn't the steering. It was the trim and the one to the bucket. The Steering doesn't have a DQ release So I understand why it had to be taken complete out. But why the other 2???
Guys I Question. I might be missing something but Why was it necessary to detach (completely unbolt using a wrench) the linkage to the bucket and the linkage to the steering? Why couldn't you detach them using the Quick releases on the ends of the linkage, Aren't they there so you don't have to use the wrench??? Or am i mistaken????
Hey Joe, thanks for the great video. Are the pumps the exact same design in my 2017 FX HO? What sealant do you like to use when putting the pump back together?
Mine is rattling on the hose. 2018 waverunner ho. I got into a nasty grass farm in 3’ of water. Had to get in the water four times to clear pump grate. I revved it a bit trying to get out. I’m a decent mechanic. What should I do?
Yes, definitely adds speed and acceleration with an optimized hub and blade design. View our full build and results on PWCExtreme.com www.pwcextreme.com/t/yamaha-gp1800-build-series-by-pwcmuscle-com/296
what happens if you put it together with a dowel missing but its prefectly straight should i take it apart and put it back in or is it just for lining it up?
You didn't show anything that actually pertains to the operation that you are doing. You glossed over everything that is difficult and should be shown in greater detail. Pretty sad.
It would have been nice if you showed how you pryed that impeller thing off
He didn't have to pry on the venturi or housing. It's a almost new machine. The impeller was broken loose with a 1 1/16 boxed end wrench.
Love all the assembly/disassembly videos that y'all do! Big help for when I start modding, and general knowledge! Thanks

Fyl there’s a quick release for the bucket on the rear you don’t have to unbolt it
There was two quick coupling that were both unbolted??

Thanks, great video! would love to see a little bit of how and where you used the pry bar

if you just want to replace the pump cone can you stop at 1:45 and just pull the cone off without taking the whole pump off? Thanks Joe!
Thank you,
Any videos on replacing the bearing
Why not use the quick disconnect on the linkages?
Yeah where do you get that bolt thing that slides over the splines.. shaft holder tool
Google "Yamaha Spline Drive Shaft Holder". I just replaced the impeller on my 2014. It takes a ridiculous amount of torque to break it free.

Nice work joe
Thanks!
Instruction video is well done, thanks
ok, good points.... thanks...
Why would you not change out the pump housing or insert?
can you do a video on the Riva pump strainer? thanks for all of your videos!

You're completely correct, mainly force of habit and running in saltwater where they get locked up.
What chemical products are you using? Looks like a grease and two different sealants?
I’m not going to lie.. my ski is pretty new too and it was NOT easy to get the nozzle off... it was sealed up so tight with silicone.
How did you end up doing it? I can’t get mine off the black silicone is so thick my pry tabs are even bending out
I haven’t been able to get mine off either. It’s frustrating
what is the best sealant to use? and how would you recommend to apply it?
Hi there
Can you tel me the torque sequence
On head cylinders for yamaha fx cruiser svho please?
Please consult a service manual...there are several steps and I can't post a picture here.
Can you tell me how much clearance is the correct between the impeller and the tube?

I appreciate it! Same stuff. I always like using Permax Black Adhesive Sealant
Hi how do I check if my trim is working. I cant check when the Jetski is out of the water as the Jetski should be on.

Do you get the rattle at high RPMS?
Does a solar pump make the JetSki go faster why would you change it out

what are your thoughts on the lucky 13 cone? Thanks.
You don’t happen to have the number of that tool to hold the shaft ?

Super travail.
Hermoso junin
I seen you used 13- 20 impeller. Can I use that pitch on a 2012 fx sho cruiser.
Stock or modified? You'll likely need the ys-df-13/22r which is available on pwcmuscle.com.
Thank you Bro. I'll go with the 13-22 like you recommend. I broke my stock one yesterday.
Jimmy Davidson certainly welcome. Dont forget the impeller removal tool when ordering.
I did not notice any loctite on any bolts? I always have used blue loctite on them.
but heres the thing, the impeller wont pop, the thing has been outside for a while soo...
Keep an eye on those locating dowels - they like to disappear ;)
what happens if you put it together with a dowel missing but its prefectly straight should i take it apart and put it back in or is it just for lining it up?
Whats a pri spot
A point where you can use a pry-bar for leverage
Against what? Is there a special tool? Because there isn’t room in there to. Do anything with a pry bar.
What type of sealant?
Permatex Ultra blue / Ultra black work fine
What
