Helen thank you for addressing and stressing the mistakes that I made in the first flower power, not touching the black edges. I will do better this time. These are just so much fun, adult coloring book quilting. Thank you for doing this.
Hi., Totally amazing work!!!! I became totally addicted to free motion quilting after I realize that Ihave a QE machine hiding in a box for 15 years. My kids left South Africa for obvious reasons and I have time now to go back to my own time and hobbies. I will be following you like a slave from now on. Thanks for sharing with with us too. 😊😁😄😃🥰
Beautiful.I am excited to follow you and improve my quilting.I was so frightened to take up quilting my work. Now I am slowly forgeting that fear.Thank you Helen.
You are amazing teaching... I wish to do these flowers, couldn’t do last time as I was so nervous I won’t be good at all. Still nervous though.. ur hand moves so beautifully..
Beautiful start Helen!! I love Alum Lillies. There are so many different color choices with lilies. Im excited to see what everyone choices are. Thank you Helen for inspiring our quilting community!!
Hi Helen. Oh dear heart I just love your stuff and you are one very talented young lady! I loved this and it is beautiful. I wish I could try one right now. We are downsizing and in the process of moving in two weeks so all sewing supplies and machines are packed and it will most likely be another two months before I get settled and can sew again. But oh so anxious. Will this always be available to do? I sure hope so. Thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful talent with us, you are a gem. I also enjoy listening to your accent. Many hugs from Michigan and you stay safe and healthy.... Claudia
hello Lucille. While all your sewing stuff is packed away, I suggest you draw along with me and practise the designs pen on paper. And no panic, these videos and the designs will be permanently available unless the internet implodes! Cheers HG
Hi Helen..So happy about this new Flower Power 2. I really loved #1. I am curious, is there a reason why you aren’t using the micro quilter foot in this series??
I have watched for a second time now. I'm wondering if when using Ink pencils, do you do that AFTER the quilting. I am so nervous about doing this, but I am very inspired by your videos. Again, thank you Helen.
Its only 10-12 inches of fabric, if you don't end up liking it, its only 10-12 inches. Have fun playing with it, experience freedom. Try paint, inktense pencils, whatever makes you happy 😊. This is practice, enjoy the process. You will get better, I promise. ❤
I just found your site. So talented. What kind of machine would I have to have to be able to do this? I have an old Singer with all metal parts and a Baby Loc. Just can’t afford the expensive Berninna machines that my other quilt friends have. I do love to quilt yet the top stitching sent out gets so expensive too. Thanks for your reply if you have time I would appreciate it. Vic🙏
You don't need anything expensive. Just a machine with a darning foot or free-motion foot. Your singer would be perfect as long as you can find the right foot in the bottom of your drawer.
Amazing tutorial and fabulous video thanks for sharing I loved it so much
Helen you are the Queen of Quilting. 👑Thank you once again for sharing your talents and your generosity.
Thank you Cheryl

Nope . No reason....just forgot!
Cool
How do you colour your fabric, it’s different from your acrylic paint pieces? Can I use brush o dye?
This was a hand dye fabric I purchased but you could paint into it with Lumiere Fabric acrylic or Inktense pencils for a softer look.
I have watched for a second time now. I'm wondering if when using Ink pencils, do you do that AFTER the quilting. I am so nervous about doing this, but I am very inspired by your videos. Again, thank you Helen.

Either way. You can use the Inktense first or after the quilting. No rule on that just choices.
What type and weight of thread do you recommend? How about batting type? Thanks so much.
I use a 50wt. I used a polyester batting but it was just available not particularly choice.
