Bought a new 22 Pro. The A/C would whistle around 35mph. They had to remove the complete dash for the repair. During the repair the dealer never had fender covers on and the tech scratched the fender down to the metal and they had to repaint it twice and it still wasnt right. Every oil changed they never filled the washer or checked my air filter. When I showed the managers no body cared. Toyota isnt what it use to be. I just sold it last week with only 11k on the clock. Looking at other brands.

Stay out of stealerships and buy used....you will not become wealthy turning over new vehicles. Did you figure out how much it cost you to trade out of a vehicle with 11k on it? My guess is you are still upside down if you financed it and now the hole gets deeper. Welcome to the land of broke americans staying in debt on vehicles for a lifetime.

Tesla has the best sales experience. They don't negotiate; the price is the price and you have very limited options. However you know what you are going to get and they don't make you wait for hours for a sales person. They update the software every few months and add features at no charge. If you don't want electric don't buy one but the sales experience is head and shoulders above any other dealer. The cars come pretty much standard and about the only options are paint and wheels. If you like paying out the wazoo for gasoline then buy a gas car and pay about $1800 to $2000 a year for gasoline. We bought our Tesla model Y LR June 13th 2023. As of today June 4th 2024 we have driven the car 14,193 miles and have spent so far as of today $573 dollars on electricity. The car has averaged the equivalent of 133 MPG as of today over the last year. The cost to operate the car is 0.04037 cents per mile for the last year. No oil changes and basically no maintenance on the car at all. After rebate and trade in I paid about $43K for the car last June, that's about the same or less than an ICE vehicle with no yearly maintenance cost.

I feel your pain. I've had a love hate relationship with Toyota (and Honda) dating back almost 50 years. Because their vehicles are in demand, they really don't think they have to go out of their way to please customers. If you don't buy their cars, somebody else will. I was actually thrown out of the dealership in Arlington, VA after I complained about them not delivering my tags for over 60 days. When I asked if they could issue a dual title with my name and the dealership on it so I could register the vehicle myself (back in the 90s that was a thing), the woman screamed at me and tossed me out of her office. There was another incident when I was serving in the Military. In 1980, I walked in with my re-enlistment bonus looking to purchase a 79 Celica. No dealer would even talk to me. Here I am with 13 grand burning a hole in my pocket and every dealer in the place just walked right past me. I would buy a Toyota from a private party without hesitation but I will never step into another Toyota dealership. Same goes for Honda.

I asked to substitute the more expensive large onion rings for small size fries. I was asked to wait. Note that the new extended cab is like the annoying ones from the '80s with no access doors. You just end up with a pile of dusty semi-accessible crap back there, you can't put a kennel for a dog on one side, or conveniently access a cooler.
I have a Tacoma with the Access Cab (2005-2023 have the short suicide doors).
I would hate being forced to get a 4 Door that I don't want, but I wouldn't get the Extended Cab. It's a PITA and there's a good reason they didn't make them that way for 20 years.
It feels to me like Toyota figured that they could build stuff people don't really want, jack up the price, and still sell just as many trucks. They appear to be learning otherwise.

She had a degree in design, was good at DIY, and had built out so she could sleep in the back comfortably, hang clothes, store her stuff all in a regular shell, and still have a 4-adult car. She even let a friend crash in it on a trip with her, though they were both small women.

And oh yeah I still have the 4Runner today. Your dealings with that specific dealership certainly reminds me of some other run in's I've had over the year's. I hope you and your wife get a good deal somewhere else.

But I waited until the last day of the month after memorial day and got another 5k off to close the deal. I knew from car edge there was a big incentive from dodge to the dealers for 23s and they were motivated to sell. And i know from experience salesmen are always more ready to deal when thier sales month closes. After my trade and equity I had in my trade I was out the door for 29,245.00. I just got a new Subaru, which was mostly painless... but even they tried to charge $250 for window etching (not even the vin, just some 800 number that people are supposed to call). As soon as I questioned it, they knocked it off the price. In the service department, the soft upsell is sure to get many people suckered in to un-needed service... "you should get the $150 fuel system service" which is a $10 bottle of Techron. You need to know enough to ask some questions... most will give you straight answers if you ask, but most people are either uninformed, or "shy".

My husband has always loved Toyotas. But the service department at our local dealer did us wrong. My husband sent me (a gray haired old lady) to bring the car in to get the seatbelt fixed. When we made the appointment my husband told them that the seatbelt buckle needed to be replaced because our son with autism jammed a small toy in it and when trying to pry it out cracked the plastic and the spring came out. When I went to bring the car in they told me that they needed to determine the problem and sent me to the waiting room. An hour and half later, they said it would be over $500.00 for the seatbelt buckle and that I would have to come back because they would have to order the part. He also told me that there was only one seat belt buckle available and so I shouldn't delay so he could order it. He also told me that my car battery was shot and that I needed to replace it ASAP and they could do it for $349.00 today. I told him that we had not had any problems with starting and I would go home and discuss it with my husband and get back to them. The car started right up and the next day we drove the car to a different independent mechanic who tested the battery and said there was absolutely no problem with the battery and he replaced the seatbelt buckle for around $200.00.
I then called the service manager at Toyota to let them know that I no longer trust them and that I would no longer be bringing my cars to them. He half-heartedly apologized but tried to tell me that the mechanic must have ran my battery down and that one of their battery chargers they have had problems with. Anyway, my husband just bought his first Subaru, made in Japan, and so far loves it. Blessings!

We were looking at buying a Corolla hatch at the beginning of the year. Found that Toyota was only allocating a few (total) of these cars every few months to dealerships in our area, so we'd have to jockey in line and then wait for months for delivery (and no choice about color etc). So we looked around and found Mazda hatch (made in Japan, regular automatic tranny vs CVT on the corolla). The Mazda hatch comes with more bells & whistles compared to the corolla. It's a beautiful ride. I worry that Toyota is going down the same route as Honda (lowering quality).

Got it at MSRP, was not my local dealer who had $15,000 in markup. Yet the last step of the process, the finance guy tried every trick in the book to get us to suck into add ons. My answer to everything "I'm not interested, please move on." I must have repeated that EXACT line 25 times. He'd parrot back: "Why are you not interested." Hi Brandon. About a month ago I went to a Jeep dealer. After 3.5 hours i left with a 39-month Lease on a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve. 17 days later I get a voicemail from the dealership saying I need to come in to re-sign some paperwork(not sure what that meant exactly). I went in the next day and sat down with the Finance person who did my deal. Apparently the deal did not go through, something about LTV being too high. We had to remove an Extended Warranty that I included in the deal. I told them that I thought the "10-day Rule" applied and they have to honor the deal. I was told by a 2nd, more senior, Finance person that it doesn't matter and that the deal is considered Final when the bank signs off on it. I told him that he was wrong but I really didn't care to take up that fight. I just wanted to close the deal on the Jeep. So the net result was we took out the Extended Warranty and they actually gave me an even better monthly price prior to adding the Extended Warranty. Probably cause they didn't want to take the Jeep back after 17 days and probably knew the "10-day" rule does apply. Curious what your thoughts are on this situation. Thanks, love the videos. Brian from Las Vegas. :)

You are speaking all wrong don't start talking about 10% off MSRP we went in at below invoice and near holdback in negotiations with Toyota and Honda. I know the power of the Sienna kept you at msrp, we had a sienna they arent all that great. We got both prices at below invoice and settled on the Honda. What we did is use sams club, costco, and also contacted internet dealers online. We narrowed prices dramactically. They were calling my fake phone number and email address like crazy for new price deals for a month.
That being said we have a honda and toyota dealer near us that basically will do anything to sell a car. How about $1500 off a no hassle price. Listen we have dealers who can't believe what the price we just got last week. They say we are lying, we are not, some dealers have 15 employees some have 95 employees working in a single day. Who is going to be able to deal in that situation? Overhead at certain dealers means they can't drop prices. So if people are getting crappy deals go online and get quotes first. See which dealers you can ignore right from the start. Also the dealers we went to half had no option cars, half had zero cars without options. That is just the way some dealers are. find out the ones to avoid. I have purchased new cars and one dealer wouldnt move $300 off the final price, I went with same offer to another dealer and deal made. next day dealer who wouldnt move $300 more on price called to see if I would go in to buy said no bought last night at another dealer. Actually got better tires on the cheaper deal so even better.

We drive a lot so saving money on gas has been a game changer. For me the trade for MPG from power was well worth it. The van gets us to where we want to go and I love that it pretty much drives its self with the radar cruise control. I do not have any significant complaints after driving 40k miles. Wouldn’t buy a Toyota after 2015. It’s problem after problem, too many recalls. The quality of their vehicles coming out of the factories are being made with cheap materials.

I brought a 24 CRV Sport-L back January I'm not playing those stupid games with the dealership. I manage to get 4% off MSRP, without any add-ons only thing I paid for was nitrogen filled tires for about $35 they were trying to get $90 out of me no sir you tired.

I knew any vehicles made during the pandemic were going to have problems, sadly even Toyota. My first shock was how bad the Tundra did in collisions tests. Very poor. I was looking at one, but not now.
