But if you don't load up all at once you might be able to handle some risk. But to get the Vehicles off their inventory and you selling them, might get us a bit closer to the day were where it is back to normal. Best advice is don't make a get rich fast plan because you and the Dealers have to try and survive through this.

To all the people stating they should have a had a backup. That doesn't work in this situation. The car software market is utter shit you have 5 choices and they all suck except for Reynolds and they are just expensive, but work. All the DMS systems require a monthly or annual license fee and hold all their data. Knowing how cheap dealerships are you think they are going to pay for a secondary DMS? Also, how do they sync the data? Its not a a one to one. Autosoft isn't going to allow CDK to have an on going sync, they do one times when a lot changes DMS vendors.
Also paying the ransom is dumb, a majority of these attackers will turn around and do it again or a another team will go in and do it because they know the business pays out.

The reason DMS systems are so "far behind the times" is the sheer cost of writing one from scratch AND the complete lack of enough money to pay the salaries needed to acquire the talent to design, write, and test hundreds of millions of lines of code. I knew the owner of a small DMS system that was technically one of the best most advanced systems out there, but the large dealer groups and manufactures conspired against him to keep him from being able to sign up new customers. I know a LOT about this topic and IMO a new GOOD DMS system will likely never be written--there's just not enough money in it and a lot of the great software development expertise with dealership domain knowledge has retired or given up and moved on to a different career.

Brandon, it's good to see you making content despite your earlier message of needing to do less. I love hearing about the cars you're buying and the prices. You could have saved 16 mins of your time with this video. We didn't need the recap of the CDK mess, and we already know that some dealers are hurting. If you still need to reduce your time and content, please consider just showing us the auctions and the cars you're getting - save us from the editorials.

So because the income loss could be blamed on software being down because of a hack, the loss of income is now claimable on their business insurance. Cyber liability insurance is recommended for larger businesses. It helps cover financial losses due to cyberattacks or other tech-related risks, as well as privacy investigations or lawsuits following an attack.

So you are repeating their bad behavior? If you don’t see what is going on here you are seriously in the same path. People are not buying because it’s just not affordable. The insurance and dmv fees keep climbing the cost of living leaves people without any money left. These vehicles are just way overpriced and so is the illusion of owning anything in this country. People can’t even keep up with rent or mortgage let alone get into more debt by purchasing a car that’s really 18,999k at 46,999k with an inflated Apr of 6.5% that adds another 15k to the sticker without counting, fuel that is also overpriced. The repairs and insurance rates have all ripped people off and it’s just not affordable. They let Biden come in and destroy the country everyone in his administration takes advantage of his lack of experience. 6.5% with good credit imagine bad credit 17%~27% loans on Apr ~ regular people and smart people are not going to giveaway their money these vehicles are just not affordable and they aren’t an investment.

It doesn't matter, as long as the VIN matches my paperworl and I'm happy with the purchase. If they screwed up, to my advantage, say a higher trim level, all I can tell them is "tough shit".
Let me explain: dealers, at all levels, have perfected the art of deception. So when a customer scores big, we all yell "Hurrah" for them. Car salesmen and their "pitches" are all considered bogas. I admire your efforts at transparency, but it isn't "catching on" very much. The slimy aura is hard to disspell.

It make you wonder that these dealerships don't have cyber security in the dealerships and only one or two connected to the out side someone was probably looking at tic Tok or shopping at one of these Chinese sellers and the whole system got hacked

I always love how these dealers are going sue CDK.. so CDK goes belly up then what do they do.. all the money they spent to get on the software is lost...; they wont get any of the lost sales back, they will have to start over with new software.. getting sue happy is sometimes something thats knee jerk and their "wish" to get lots of $$ is not likely gonna happen

It is 3 PM on the 27th. The dealership got their self into this mess and how many times they’ve ruined peoples credit like when people went upside down 2018 2008 they got out bailed out if it was us it goes against the credit, they got a free ride. We don’t get a free ride and they try to soup you up and put you in something that you can’t even afford they make you think you can and you can’t appreciate what you’re doing. I would never buy from a new dealership, they sold me they sold they sold me 2×2 different dealerships deserve good luck😂😂😂😂
