      Toyota sells 6 of the top 10 vehicles sold, in America, and yes they just recalled over 100,000 Tundra's with major engine issues, and yes this is the 5th time they have lied this year and have been caught lying about safety but most of those cars were Carolla's called the Axio sold in Japan. The issue that I have sir is that I purchased a brand new 2019 Silverado Crew Cab LT Trail Boss for $51,000, I got 1.99% for 84 months at my credit union. BUT that same truck and build today on a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado LT Trail Boss has skyrocketed to a MSRP of $56,700. This is CRAZY!! I'm keeping my truck! God bless- Larry G. Loveland, Colorado

    Toyota is dead to me. Last month went to look at a new Grand Highlander, well qualified and ready to buy - salesperson said sticker price, no deals - don't like that see ya later. So I left. A week later I get a call from the manager begging me to come back - NO WAY. I live in a college town - tons of over paid professors and the cocky car sales people and real estate agents are used to free flowing money and easy sales. Well, a couple of weeks ago it was like the faucet got shut off. Hondas too are not the Hondas they were pre 2000. The interior is cheap, poor craftsmanship, etc. I see these at the body shops torn down and amazed the lack of components such as sound deadeners, insulation, not being used anymore. Also, they want to make the lighter more fuel efficient so of course, they're cut weight by using no under coating and other material that once made the cars built solid. When I bought my SUV,, the next day, I took it to one of my body shops that I work with and had them apply underneath the wheel wells, under body frame, undercoating as well as applying sound deadener panels on the inner door skins of the vehicle. Close the door and drive it, what a difference.

    Last year I went to buy a Toyota from North Park Toyota in San Antonio, in response to two online ads advertising a specific car at $2000 over it's $32,500 MSRP. When I arrived, the salesmen went to "check with his sales manager" on the price... and returned to tell me the car would be $14,000 over MSRP. I laughed as I left. The internet suggests my experience, and this particular dealership, is not unique.
    This is a brand that, three decades ago, delivered an exceptionally reliable product at competitive price point. These days they're coasting on laurels from that bygone era, while simultaneously alienating entire generations of new buyers through price gouging dealers and entirely avoidable design and manufacturing defects.

    Last month my wife and I bought a second vehicle, a used one that is 9 years old and only had 42,000 miles. We did not have the cash to pay for it outright, so it had to be financed. $8500 was the cost of the car, and we got denied from a couple of banks due to the amount to be financed ($7800) was not enough!!! I guess the banks were not going to make enough money off of this loan. A bank did pickup the loan, but required a 60 month term!! I wanted 36 month but they would not do it, once again because they would not make enough money on the loan.
    Crazy times.

    • @spooderdoggy
      @spooderdoggy 21 день назад +10

      You know you can legally make a second payment every month and make the finance company/bank apply that to the principal of the loan only, ok. This will get your loan payed off quicker and may save you interest too. Find out generally what a 36 month loan for a car would have cost monthly. Then subtract your current payment from that 36 month payment amount, and pay that difference monthly towards the principal. You will save money. 🏆💪🏻

    Near me about 25 miles outside Houston, the local Toyota dealer hasn’t stocked any new vehicles on their lot this year. It has remained empty. I’m guessing they’re just rolling with their service dept and letting buyers order at their discretion. Ford, Chevy, Dodge dealers next to it, and those lots have stayed full all year. I’ve never seen it like this in the 24 years I’ve lived in this area. I haven’t noticed many new paper plates on the roads this year. I’m guessing new sales are mostly business/corporate buyers. I think all the “free money” and people tapping their 401k a couple years ago ignited the new car boom, and now the individual buyers are done for a few years. Same deal with boats and rvs. Reset from boom to bust ongoing. Prices got way too high. Interest rates now are similar to the 1990’s, but prices are 3-4x higher for basically the same truck with gadgets on it. Average wages haven’t increased 4x, and I think $40k is about max most people can realistically handle.

    I called on a specific car at our local Toyota dealership in which we have purchased and is still new so we decided to get his and hers matching cars different color so I thought now is probably the time to inquire well the car has gone up in price and they even told me there was a $6000 markup because the color I want would probably be difficult to find which did not make any sense at all so I gave her my name and number and told her to look us up that we had just purchased a car so she knew we were serious and to call me when the price starts going down and we would talk so they never called me back

    You generally see Toyota pickups with big machine guns in the back, tearing through the desert, lol.
