i would only try to sign lankinen if we know demko will be injured up to november december or even longer but if we can wait by then id say ride it out
You're missing a key factor. The player would need to WANT to come to Vancouver. He's not gonna get priority over Demko or Silovs once demmer is back... Lankinen is gonna want to go somewhere where he will get to play so that he can make some money next year on July 1.
So if goaltending depth is the golden ticket to having a strong start and competing deep into the playoffs, why would Nashville give up their depth to a conference rival? It would be great but it doesn't seem like a logical move from the Preds.
my biggest question whenever someone is we need to get this guy is. who or what are we giving up? and why would the opposing team want what we have? I'm pretty sure that he is a free agent, however how much are we willing to give him can we afford that, and who is going to get pushed down to the minors since there is a limit in the nhl. what is the cost?
Not necessarily a Canucks fan but nevertheless, I cannot for the life of me, understand how Lankinen is still unsigned! I figured he'd be snapped up in the first days of free agency if not the first hours! I just don't get it! The Canucks are not the only team with concerns in net.
If this doesnt happen and demko goes on L T i R , lets say can vancouver just trade say juulsen , friedman for a top 4 defenceman who is good / great ? Obviousely plus sweetners or whatever , maybe a team or player want out of somewhere so we retain some salary on someone but what im getting at here is , lets say we land a hanifin type player for 3.5 million per year ( HANIFIN ) of like 2017- 2019 skill level ? So maybe ya , just breaking top 4 D status My question is this , Can the canucks then take a hell of a chance , be cheap and go with 3 goalies for this regular season ? Maybe have them understand the wat its gonna work is you play until you either lose a game or win 3 to 4 in a row Also see how that works and re-adjust / evaluate at new years if need be ? A demko ltir B sighn a 3.6million to 5 million D guy or possibly even more if a trade is done proper C get tolo , pateira on bored D shave all of our O G FANS GREY HAIR AND BEARDS E cup or crash the wagon boys . LETS F' iNG Go
Are you confident with Silovs, Patera, and Tolopilo heading into the season? Who do you believe the Canucks should sign, Lankinen or Martin Jones?

I think Jones retiring.
considering lankenin put up .908% in chicago, I think it would be a smart signing.
To clarify, the .908 was in Nashville, but as a rookie in Chicago he put up .909 in the bubble season!

I like the insurance move...They might get a good zamboni driver/Goalie just in case!
I actually quite like this plan.
In My opinion Petera Singing doesn't make sense they should have went for Lankinen Out of the Gates
Silvos for the win

I am worried Demko will be out long term, he has has 3-4 months off already..
