      My obaa was from Okinawa and she made a soumen sauté that was one of my fav. Tasty, extremely easy to make and affordable! I don’t know if it’s an Okinawa or her city typical dish.
      It’s kind of a Peperonchino because you fry in the oil ( not olive oil) thin garlic slices and a whole red fry chili ( the Japanese one) immediately you add salt, pepper and Ajinomoto ( Ajinomoto be careful a pinch: 1/4 tsp or less?). You put in the frying pan very very drained ( not soggy) thin white soumen and mix.
      Sorry, the original had not soggy canned tuna and as topping a tortilla or eggs like in fried rices. Since I’m vegan I don’t add tuna but replace the egg with vegan scramble egg made of firm tofu.
      Now my Peruvian/Chile ‘abuelita’ ( grandma) wow! She was a chef ( for all the grandchildren, we used to say that even her cooked rice was superb!). I think that’s why I love cooking and appreciate very much your channel.

      I'm not vegan but veggitarian but I've found that many Japanese recipes can be made basically vegan if you replace the dashi (fish stock) with kombu seaweed and/or shitake mushroom stock or just your favorite vegetable stock.

    • @gracehetfield5331
      @gracehetfield5331 3 года назад +19

      @@lordbudhha794 Not true, a vegan diet can be extremely healthy as long as you supplement for B12. Veggitarians like myself and vegans have a lower risk of heart disease. Of course, it can be unhealthy if you just eat junk foods that happen to be vegan but its not true that it can't be a balanced diet.

    I'm a bit late, we were out for the afternoon yesterday. Finally the weathe ris getting a bit spring like with some more sun, still a bit cold though.
    Cabbage is one of the vegetables I usual have in the fridge, as well as carrot. These two veggies are so versatile. Recently I've been making simple okonomiyaki style abura age and more egg recipes, just because they are quick to make so perfect for lunch.
    Interesting to put the miso mix inside the onigiri, usually you see the miso mix brushed over the onigiiri and put in an oven toaster. If I form the onigiri by hand I never get a triangle shape, more round but taste is the same hahaha Usually I get the onigiri shaper since it is easy. I think these miso onigiri will be great if you have leftover, or with fresh it will of course work as well, to put it in a bowl and top it with a simple egg ankake. That would be great on colder days.
    My daughter loves okra. it's hard to get in the regular supermarket here, but if I get it my daughter loves it in a simple chicken soup. It gets a bit thick and slimy because the okra is sliced but she doesn't mind at all.

    I really love your videos! These videos of Japanese food and lifestyle with 2 kids always make me remember "Shinchan" and I can't say how much I love to watch your videos that gives me such a beautiful idea about Japanese culture and food which I truely adore! Being an Indian, I was not that much introduced to Japanese culture before. Only Cartoons like Shinchan and Doraemon were them who made me fall in love with Japan. Thank you Sister for sharing these videos and help us learning so much! I'll definitely make these dishes. These are really beautiful and you made so well.
    Lots of loveful prayers and best wishes from India. 🧡 :)

    🤤Looks so delicious all. I was planning to make Onigiri soon, but was not sure which filling. Now I know. Totally gonna try these. I am sure the salad goes very well with them too 😋

    Love the stand up lid. I checked it out and while the lid was reasonable, the shipping would cost double the price of the item itself. Good design, but guess I will just have to wait a while longer on that lid and the pan set. Thanks for showing them to me in your video!

    I'll definitely give that miso mix a go, I have some frozen leek in the freezer. I wonder if some finely chopped mushroom would also work? I might have a go! I really need some good recipes that use squid rings as I bought some for a treat but haven't used them yet. They are currently in the freezer lol.

      Yesyes!! mushroom will be a good paring with this miso sauce!
      I simply grill squid and season with rice wine, grated ginger and soysauce along with tiny bit of mirin. OR you make a squid katsu with panko and dip into a tartar sauce just like a onion ring. so lovely to talk to you here and on IG as well!
