Yeah, this is basically the ceiling with Bowles. Unbelievably great at stopping the run and equally as bad in pass coverage. Backers can’t cover outside of David and can’t finish plays when they rush, corners can’t stay healthy and can’t cover, d-linemen outside of Vea can’t finish plays. It will be a colossal mistake to let Cohen walk and retain Bowles.
I think that this past year is the last year of dealing with salary cap issues and lost trade picks from when they went all in during the Brady run. With a few good draft picks on the Defensive side, and maybe a pick or two to help the offense so that they have more weapons and this team is a legit Super Bowl contender. Baker Mayfield quietly put up numbers that rival Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Herbert, Burrow, and any other QBs that get talked about as an MVP candidate. Give Baker Mayfield a little more help/weapons on Offense and shore up that Defense and they'll be a powerhouse

The main issue in Pittsburgh? No Running Game. Najee Harris does not scare anyone. He is not a home run hitter. I can't put all the blame on Najee though. The Steelers O-Line is not that good. Football is hard to play, but not hard to figure out. It all starts up front with the big boys. The run-game blocking is terrible. This causes the play-action pass not to work at all, which is something Russel Wilson thrives on. He was successful in Seattle because of their running game. Mike Tomlin is a great motivator and speaker, but his decision making has been questionable. Is he hiring the right coaches to succeed? I'm not so sure. The Steelers do not look like a well coached team. The Steelers can turn this around if they get some studs on the O-line and a solid line coach who can show them what run blocking is all about. If you look at all of the teams in the playoffs this year, they have one thing in common...A good O-Line. Great teams have great O-lines AND D-lines. Yes, a team can sneak into the playoffs without a solid line. But I promise you, that team will not go far once they reach the playoffs. It all starts up front. Ask Jimmy Johnson. His Cowboys in the 90s had the greatest O-line in NFL history, which is why they became a dynasty. And their D-line was pretty good as well. Belichicks Patriots always had solid O line play during their dynasty. Brady was a great decision maker because his O line gave him enough time to make decisions. Brady barely got sacked. Disclaimer: I am by no means a Patriots or Cowboy fan. I Just know what it takes to win.

Notice that not only does AJ not have a role anymore but Ty doesn’t either. Ty seems disengaged and is only asked what he thinks about the Packers. He’s arguably the most intelligent guy on the show, meanwhile Boston Connor has kissed Pat’s arse to have a bigger role when he’s arguably always been the dumbest on the show. The show stinks now, Ty doesn’t even chime in anymore and he used to be one of my favorites to listen to. He’s just as insightful as he is funny, and Pat is just letting him rot.

The main issue in Pittsburgh? No Running Game. Najee Harris does not scare anyone. He is not a home run hitter. I can't put all the blame on Najee though. The Steelers O-Line is not that good. Football is hard to play, but not hard to figure out. It all starts up front with the big boys. The run-game blocking is terrible. This causes the play-action pass not to work at all, which is something Russel Wilson thrives on. He was successful in Seattle because of their running game.
Mike Tomlin is a great motivator and speaker, but his decision making has been questionable. Is he hiring the right coaches to succeed? I'm not so sure. The Steelers do not look like a well coached team.
The Steelers can turn this around if they get some studs on the O-line and a solid line coach who can show them what run blocking is all about. If you look at all of the teams in the playoffs this year, they have one thing in common...A good O-Line. Great teams have great O-lines AND D-lines. Yes, a team can sneak into the playoffs without a solid line. But I promise you, that team will not go far once they reach the playoffs.
It all starts up front. Ask Jimmy Johnson. His Cowboys in the 90s had the greatest O-line in NFL history, which is why they became a dynasty. And their D-line was pretty good as well. Belichicks Patriots always had solid O line play during their dynasty. Brady was a great decision maker because his O line gave him enough time to make decisions. Brady barely got sacked.
