What Rich said about the Chargers is true. They aren’t expected to do much of anything this season so it was pretty remarkable what they achieved with so few weapons on the offense. Herbert’s post season performances are concerning but he’s got the right coach. Let’s see what happens next year.
Nope you can’t use that excuse with that team. Every year they’ve been over hyped even with Brandon Staley as the coach. And Harbaugh being the new coach was supposed to put them over the hump with that roster everyone said. No more excuses for Justin Herbert and the Chargers. They choked again
@ I’ll agree they’ve been overhyped every year. Brandon Staley was a terrible coach. But this year they were supposed to get about seven wins according to most people I saw. They lost Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler and were maxed out on cap space and had an entirely new coaching staff. They overachieved. Yes, I agree Herbert has chocked twice in his two playoff games with embarrassing exits to the season. But this isn’t the end. He’s still extremely talented and has the best coach he’ll likely ever get. I’m not counting him out at all. No one expected Sam Darnold to have the year he’s had. Let’s just see what happens next season.

But after catching up on the play offs this morning...... I can't wait for Chris' Sam Darnold topic on overreaction Monday (on a Tuesday) later on!
I think almost all records will be broken and almost every individual feat will be matched at some point....but full time QB throwing more interceptions in a playoff game than the entire season..............yeah that one might stand the test of time.
Chargers fan here: the Texans have a team built for the Playoffs. Two great corners and two great pass rushers. One WR weapon and they can run the ball late when it matters and have a confident FG kicker. I like their chances.
The biggest threat to the lions is that bye week, I just hope they come out looking hungry and not looking rusty. Not trying to disrespect Jayden bc I think he’s a beast and the best qb taken in that draft, I just think detroits environment is a completely different beast than Tampa . If Jayden comes in here and pulls it off then hey I got to give the man his respect for taking out my 1 seed lions. May the best team win 🤝
Lions have two weeks to rest while Washington played Sunday night on the road and then plays Saturday night on the road! Washington also has the 30th run defense and last I checked the Lions run offense is really good! I like the Lions chances!
Lol hold on it is absolutely absolutely absolutely an overreaction to say Jayden Daniels is going to beat Detroit. Not only because the Commies won’t and can’t, but by Rich’s own rules which fluctuate every five seconds. Half of every overreaction monday is him saying “i mean its a possibility everythings a possibility but to say (insert event here) IS DEFINITELY going to happen is an overreaction”. ???

Things kinda suck for this lifelong Chiefs fan. Last year I picked CJ Stroud as the rookie with the best future out there, and am so pumped to see him succeed… But, it’s the Chiefs. It’s a 3-peat. It’s Andy Reid. It’s Spags. it’s Mahomes and Kelce. They have a way of coming totally alive and creating magic on the biggest of stages. I’m simply tearing my hair out.
I’ve always liked tomlin but one fact does stick with me. The man has been in the nfl for 18 years and if he was a great coach, his legacy should be everywhere. His coordinators should move on to coach other teams. And the simple truth is NONE of them have. You have to go back to coordinators cowher hired.
Overreaction from a Bucs fan: Jason Licht should consider trading their first round draft pick and Todd Bowles to the Steelers for Mike Tomlin. I'll gladly take Tomlin over Clock-Blind Todd any day of the week.
I think the "we don't need a superstar running back" mentality really came home to roost in SUPER wildcard weekend. Saquon shined, Henry had a night, and even Ekeler, with his mostly quiet game, had a big part to play in the final drive that sent Washington to Detroit next week. The superstar running back is BACK!
I've been saying this since he got in the league. He's a more athletic Philip Rivers. With a higher ceiling that he just seems to not even attempt to reach.
JH is a he11 of a coach. As a Chiefs fan, I did NOT like seeing the Broncos hire Sean and Chargers hire Jim. I rather really enjoyed the rest of the AFC West with bumbling coaches... lol
@@CynthiaGeorgette until this year he hasn’t had the the same caliber of Coach with team around him as the other players you motioned. They made it to the playoffs without any notable skill players outside of Herbert.
Agreed 100% about Herbert. Immense physical talent, pretty clean (last game notwithstanding), good stats. Doesn’t bring the killer game like Mahomes, Jayden, Allen, Lamar, Baker, etc. Elite QBs take over games in big winning moments and/or full dominant game performances. Herbert doesn’t punk defenses. Is he significantly better overall than Dak Prescott?
I watched the chargers game. Two of the INTs for Herbert were the receivers fault: Through their hands and off their hands. The fourth INT was a Hail Mary down 20 with 3 min left. His receivers catch those balls and the game is wildly different.
Truly believe if Will Dissley was any other proper pass catching TE we would have won that game because we would have been up 14-0 after two possessions and the entire game plan for Houston would have been forced to the pass.
I love Rich, and the segment is more a spark for discussion than a binary "yes or no", but saying the Commanders will beat the Lions is NOT an overreaction, but saying the winner of Bills-Ravens going to the Super Bowl or winner of Vikings-Rams will beat the Eagles is seems inconsistent.
Looks like Rich has been drinking Chris's Kool-Aid on doubting the lions, a rookie is going to go into Ford Field and beat the lions? Pretty obvious overreaction
A team winning game after game with the 3rd best QB in the league by QBR and winning in the road in the playoffs, going up against a team with a suspect pass coverage unit? I don't see how that is an overreaction. Its certainly possible.
He been drinking something, then on the very next subject to suggest that the winner out of the bills and ravens aren’t likely to beat the chiefs 🤯 lions all the way!!!
After seeing Dan Quinn go for it on 4th down so much I can’t wait for Lions/Commies. I hope there are zero punts and Gibbs and Montgomery put on a show. Gotta stop Daniel’s from running, not sure how we do it but should be a hell of a game. Go lions.
Gibbs gets held out of the same damn cheek scar last week and crickets. Daniels gets to keep playing and not held out. Hes a damn hero who "might have a scar". Damn.....wow
The fact that Rich claims it is less of an overreaction that "the Chiefs will lose to either the 2nd or 3rd seed Ravens or Bills" than "the Lions will lose to the 6th seed Commanders" is quite ridiculous to me
I don't think Dan Campbell will let his team come out cold after a bye week. I can't see the Lions losing or even being close. The defense will rattle Daniels and I can see the Lions having two picks. And if Montgomery is back even if it is in a limited capacity, then watch out!🦁
Daniels doesn't get rattled. He's proven that all season. the team that controls the clock has the best chance of winning. The Lions run game could have a field day on the Commanders run defense
I'm a Lions fan, but it amazes me how many people still miss the point of "Overreaction" segments. That said, the Commanders will need to score a whole lot more than 23 to have a chance to beat the Lions.
Herbert will be the same age as Sam Darnold on March 10th, and his career record is 41-38 and 0-2 playoffs with one team, compared to Darnold's career record of 35-38 with 4 teams. How different the perception of each is.
Same with Baker Mayfield. He famous from college and has a big personality so that overshadow he has a career losing record, losing record 4/7 seasons and 2 playoff wins. Also, he was the #1 pick in a draft that included Lamar and Josh Allen. Dudes been on 4 teams yet he is a media darling. Dudes has played with more "prime" pro bowlers on offense then literally any QB ever. Definitely a double standard.
@@millardthomas9059 Baker is also 2 years older at 29. So he was more like Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix and had a much longer CFB career than Sam who was more like Drake Maye or McCarthy and should have had more development before starting.

How can you say that it's not an overreaction for Chris to say that the Commanders will beat the Lions, but it is an overreaction for him to say that the winner of the Bills-Ravens is going to the Super Bowl is??? Why all the Detroit hate lately???
I don't mind it tbh, it just fuels us as we keep proving all the haters and doubters wrong. The Chiefs are getting wayyyy too much credit this season based on the past couple seasons. I think for almost certain the Chiefs are not making the Superbowl this year. I have either the Bills & Ravens beating them in the AFC championship.

That's just Chris. He loves the packers and if you watch how he talks abkut the lions you'd think they 9-8 not 15-2. He will still chose love to win it all next season and say he doesn't trust Goff. He extends the same logic to any team clearly ahead if the packers

First that was a division rival. Division games are wacky and can't be used to gauge other games. Second, Sam Darnold is not Jayden Daniels...JD5 has been embarrassing hall of famer defensive players on a weekly basis. I predict this will be a shootout.

Don't get me wrong here... I'm still rooting for the Lions. Motor City fans have well and truly earned a chance at glory. But there is a **significant** silver lining in a Chiefs win too.
Hurts has a long history of great games after bad games. Their defense is elite… the Vikings have no shot… the lions depends on Hurts game that night. AJ brown & Smith have broken all time records with him throwing them the ball… the biggest lie in the NFL is the vikings can win against lions, eagles, ravens, chiefs or bills
Even though I disagree I can at least understand saying that about the Lions, if they make the game a shootout the Eagles are probably in trouble. But the VIKINGS? The Eagles defense will probably eat Darnold alive, I could easily see the Eagles winning another game vs them with only 20 passing attempts.
@@Tmindful182 Actually the Eagles WR have broken bad records, like Brown had one catch on one target yesterday. The Eagles have been the worst passing team in the league this year.

Hey Brockman. You may want to start paying attention to all the injuries teams sustain, and then who is actually going to play in games you forecast. The Chiefs have been without Jaylent Watson, Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, Pacheco, JuJu a very significan portion of the year. Rice is still out, but they picked up D-Hop in a trade. Jaylene is trending to be back, at least by the AFC championship game. The rest of those players are already back. And, they also may have DJ playing LT, and even if not, Thuney has probed to be a huge upgrade there over Morris & Suamataia. With all the injuries, they still earned the #1 seed. And, now, they will be predominantly healthy, something they haven't been all year.
When I was in the US Navy, I fought a fire at sea as a member of the firecracker team on board ship. While fighting said fire I must have hit my forehead just above my eyebrows and was bleeding profusely and never noticed it until a Hospital Corpsman dragged me away from the hose and ordered another team member to take my place. When I looked at my shirt it was a red rag but because of the adrenaline and the mission I never noticed until afterwards.
Watching Brockman squirm when Rich calls him out was hilarious! And not sure how great a 'leader of men' Tomlin actually is... theres a reason the Steelers always have discipline problems with players.
Nah maybe talk to the GM who drafted love and robbed them of a pivotal piece for prime aaron Rodgers, and then goes and hamstrings their team with a massive contract.
Top 3 WRs injured and out, two fumbles, missed FG, RG injured and out, Jacob's blasted up, Love 3 int.....yeah, coach should be thought of letting go. Nonsensical crap take
@doppeldipper7111 apples to oranges, another ridiculous comparison. Packers fans know MC and Arod got that ring early in their careers before they became who they are now
Eagles better hope they do not see the Lions, they can not beat them...They are pretenders like every year, Hurts is not a franchise QB, is a RB who throws it sometimes with a great O-line.
ummm...only one did. the pass to Dissly. The others were most definitely poor throws and on Herbert. The one to Ladd was way too high...he didn't get a touch on the ball.
@sweetfancymoses2942 People are just saying 4 INTs without context. First one was a poor decision but QJ didn't fight for the ball. The second did touch Ladd but he is short (I love him) and the pass was high and dangerous. Third was 100% on Dissley. Fourth was garbage time desperation. Context matters.
Starting to be some of the only sports talking heads that I listen to anymore. Pat Mcafee and his crew sold out so hard that half the show is talking about Dude Wipes and Ram trucks and Pizza Hut (won't be buying any of these because of how annoyed I am by hearing about them now), and the gimmicks are tired too. Everyone else is trying so hard to get me to into sports gambling that I can't stomach it anymore. Keep up the good work, gentlemen. You'll be what I listen to until I give up on the NFL completely.
Wash vs Detroit pits the 2 coaches who take the most 4th down chances. The question will be which 4th down gamble will cost their team the game. The one concern I have for Wash is their college formation and play calling tendencies. Detroit should pressure JD enough to make a difference.
I love that Rich calls Brockman on his Chiefs crap and the ulterior motive behind it. Personally, I want Brockman fall off his chair and end up in concussion protocol for the remainder of the playoffs. And he can take Rex Ryan with him.
Herbert doesn't get the flack he deserves at this point. I saw a lot of channels and sports networks going "wow, didn't expect that from a consensus top 5 QB." What consensus did they come to? Maybe top 10 but top 5 absolutely not. He's another QB in a line of Chargers QB's at this point of his career: big armed, tall QB that can throw a pretty interception amidst the stat padding and not getting it done when it matters. I'm tired, absolutely tired, of giving San Diego/LA Chargers QB's in my lifetime a pass via the media. I was annoyed by Fouts, I was done by Rivers. I'm beyond done with Herbert. Thank you Brockman for bringing this up as a reaction/overreaction. It was needed. It's time to stop coddling QB's like these simply because they inflate the leagues stats, while we're harsh on QB's that have won games that mattered for not getting it done.

@@6foot7natiboy fair but his defense didn’t do him any favors either. Herbert’s defense was carrying the chargers until the 2nd half.

I can't wait for Chris' Sam Darnold topic on overreaction Monday (on a Tuesday) later on!
Is this the first time Chris has (kinda) admitted that he just doesn’t want to see any other team be as successful as the Pats were?
I think almost all records will be broken and almost every individual feat will be matched at some point....but full time QB throwing more interceptions in a playoff game than the entire season..............yeah that one might stand the test of time.
Not unless Jamie's Winston makes the playoffs someday
@1inhole300 nah, because there's no way he'd get through a season with single-digit interception. Unless he only came in for two games.
If the Texans break up the 3 peat in Kansas City this weekend it will be the most insane outcome of all time.
Yep. Easily would be the biggest upset possible in this playoffs.
Chargers fan here: the Texans have a team built for the Playoffs. Two great corners and two great pass rushers. One WR weapon and they can run the ball late when it matters and have a confident FG kicker. I like their chances.
Ill become a Texans fan dude

But, it’s the Chiefs. It’s a 3-peat. It’s Andy Reid. It’s Spags. it’s Mahomes and Kelce. They have a way of coming totally alive and creating magic on the biggest of stages.
I’m simply tearing my hair out.
All good things come to an end
Mike Tomlin should of walked away like 3 years ago when Ben Roethlisberger retired
Yup
I’ve always liked tomlin but one fact does stick with me. The man has been in the nfl for 18 years and if he was a great coach, his legacy should be everywhere. His coordinators should move on to coach other teams. And the simple truth is NONE of them have. You have to go back to coordinators cowher hired.
Saying that a 6 seed not can but will beat the betting Super Bowl favs on the road coming off a bye is absolutely an overreaction.
I'm shocked Rich didn't call that an overreaction. He's off his rocker.
Overreaction from a Bucs fan:
Jason Licht should consider trading their first round draft pick and Todd Bowles to the Steelers for Mike Tomlin. I'll gladly take Tomlin over Clock-Blind Todd any day of the week.
I feel like Tomlin in that organization would make them 13 game winners every year as long as they have Baker at QB.
They could have had Vrabel if they missed the playoffs. Might have been better off.
@@chrisuncleahmad789 agreed but I’d have been shocked if Vrabel went anywhere other than the Pats. Seemed like that was his goal from the start
Tomlin has a no trade clause in his contract
@@tystone9922 then a release and negotiation. I’m sure with the money involved both the Bucs and Steelers could find a way around that.
Mixon for my Texans has been an absolute godsend for my team this year.
Herbert = Rivers 2.0?
Yes. I've been saying this for 3 years.
Rivers was better
I've been saying this since he got in the league. He's a more athletic Philip Rivers. With a higher ceiling that he just seems to not even attempt to reach.
That's too early. Give it 2 more years for me to agree with you lol
Yep💯

@@ramskullcapitalThe only thing the Rams are bringing is their vacation clothes so they can head to Hawaii right after the game is over
Agreed 100% about Herbert.
Hahaha just stop
Good QBs have good connections with their recievers, so they dont have these issues.
@@Central-se7ez That doesn't exist as mcuh as you think.
It will be a good game but the lions will win by a touchdown
He been drinking something, then on the very next subject to suggest that the winner out of the bills and ravens aren’t likely to beat the chiefs 🤯 lions all the way!!!
After seeing Dan Quinn go for it on 4th down so much I can’t wait for Lions/Commies. I hope there are zero punts and Gibbs and Montgomery put on a show. Gotta stop Daniel’s from running, not sure how we do it but should be a hell of a game. Go lions.
Dak called Justin after the game, told him "Welcome to the club"
meanwhile Dak still waiting outside the club trying to get in
Gibbs gets held out of the same damn cheek scar last week and crickets. Daniels gets to keep playing and not held out. Hes a damn hero who "might have a scar". Damn.....wow
So true Brockman just a hater
As I Lions fan keep the disrespect coming. It only makes the team that much more focused
The fact that Rich claims it is less of an overreaction that "the Chiefs will lose to either the 2nd or 3rd seed Ravens or Bills" than "the Lions will lose to the 6th seed Commanders" is quite ridiculous to me
Yep I feel like a lot of what they say is just to rile people up and not even necessarily what they really think.
Keep it up, I love it when y’all say lions aren’t good, we love being “your” underdogs
We? What team you play for bozo?
Gonna keep it positive n say no matter who wins, the Ravens & Bills are both elite squads. Both teams will get themselves a SB.
36 or more will be required IMO
Herbert will be the same age as Sam Darnold on March 10th, and his career record is 41-38 and 0-2 playoffs with one team, compared to Darnold's career record of 35-38 with 4 teams. How different the perception of each is.
This!

Don't get me wrong here... I'm still rooting for the Lions. Motor City fans have well and truly earned a chance at glory. But there is a **significant** silver lining in a Chiefs win too.
As much as I love the Eagles, they don't have enough of a passing attack to beat either the Lions or the Vikings.

@ really? That’s your issue?
I'm reserving judgement of Justin Herbert until he has more weapons to throw to.

Let's be fair to Herbert in this regard; every ONE of those "interceptions" literally bounced off a receiver's hands.
ummm...only one did. the pass to Dissly.
Literally the ONLY reason I want the Chiefs to win is because it's something Brady and Belichick never did. Would be a great day for everyone :D
I love that Rich calls Brockman on his Chiefs crap and the ulterior motive behind it. Personally, I want Brockman fall off his chair and end up in concussion protocol for the remainder of the playoffs. And he can take Rex Ryan with him.
You don't seem to understand the concept of this segment. Alot of Chiefs and Lions fans got real emotional on this one.
you'll be alright buddy take a few deep breaths.
Rich: "You can't sit here and say the Commanders have no chance."
Rich, the Commanders have no chance.
They have a chance! Any team can beat the best team in the NFL. It's football, that's how it goes. Will they? Probably not. But they do have a chance.
Basically by saying it isn’t an overreaction Rich was saying the Lions have no chance. Big difference in saying the Commanders have a chance versus they will win.
