It doesn't just snap in place. You have to pull that little button forward to get the rails to slide in the grooves. I almost damaged the insert mechanism trying without this little detail.
That's partially correct. You can press it in without damaging it (it's the way I did it in the video and always do it). You can see that the area has where the visor hook presses in there is a little angle on it to make it possible. However to use the lever like you do, is a good idea and will put even less wear and tear onto the mechanism :)
Hi there. Thank you for the video. I have done as you do in your video, installed the pinlock and put the visor back on. It moves up and down fine but the visor doesn’t lock closed, the pinlock prevents it . Am installing the pinlock wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
Hard to tell what's going on without seeing it. Try removing the pinlock. If everything works without it you at least know the pinlock was not installed correctly.
I'm so with you. Old one was pretty much perfect. Maybe it's a safety thing to make it harder for the Visor to fly off in a crash, but I'm just guessing here.

I can't get the dark smoked visor anywhere for the RF1400, I had to buy another brand on Amazon for the time being that fits the RF1400 until SHOEI has these back in stock. Here's the link I used, apparently it's good except for the pin lock system so it will have to do until SHOEI restocks: CWR-F2 Shield (Dark Smoke) for RF-1400 Helmet Helmet Visor CWR-F2 NXR 2 Z8 Pinlock Ready So my question is...can I use a dark smoked visor from a SHOEI NZR2 that you describe until I can get the OEM visor for the RF1400? If the NXR2 works perfect no need for the RF1400 one then as they are one in the same. Crazy how there is NO stock.

This is the dumbest mechanism I have seen so far... Just pulling the entire mechanism back with your fingers hurts a shit ton, then you have to somehow skill-flick it out the thing.

Same it’s weird that the previous model was easier to remove the visor
my thumbs get 1 hell of a workout each time trying to remove this thing to clean the inside of it after getting caught in the rain lol

@@PapaEsch yes the Shoei NXR2 and RF 1400 are the same helmet. They just have different names in the USA , Japan and Europe.
