“It’s got too much power and not enough down force”
Music to our ears!!
just the way we like it
A bit disappointing to see Jess Yates in a lesser standard seat and no one having her HANS device under the belts at those speeds. Safety First guys!!!
Yep. She didn't need to be in the car.
Would have loved to hear Jess's thoughts after jumping out of the car 😅
Just 1 question? Why was she in passenger seat anyway ?
Bring on 2023 i can't wait to see some awesome retro liveries on these new Gen 3 beasts
These are going to produce great racing!
Yeah, you can see that. Even with a passenger the Camaro is much faster. That'll be the "parity" they'll be aiming for.
@@alanjm1234 no it's more tander has had way more experience in the newer gen car than ambrose. tander was in bathurst earlier this year i think
Great motor sport died years ago in Australia.
The mustang will win the first couple of races. And just like the last couple of years thay hobbled the mustang that's why l don't watch super cars any more
Looking forward to seeing these awesome machines on track next year !! The sound of both cars are music to the ears and both look great 👍 awesome work by both DJR and Red Bull Ampol Racing
that camaro is such a beast, there is one here in my hometown it's a beast. one of my neighbors, has a mustang, a 2018 version thought, it's a beast. i cant wait till 2023 seeing these things on track, the mustangs are becoming popular here in my own town, i see them often.
Love how the commentators say Ambrose give tander the old Ambrose Bake test. Love how the bad past can be an enjoyable experience!
Finally the mustamg looks like a mustang
Pity they didn’t get Murph to drive the chevy, would’ve been interesting 🤔🤔🤣
He would have smashed into Ambrose like he did at Mr Panorama. That's why.
They should hire Murph and Macauley Jones to test the structural integrity of the new cars.
" market relevant " says Skaife , not in Australia though ! , about as relevant as racing a SAAB .
nope, ive driven holden all my life, i'm looking forward to the camaro and the breath of fresh air V8 supercars sorely needs, your opinion is as relevant as a SAAB
@@shanehodges6980 V8 supercar racing is crap on every level.
@@shanehodges6980, the camaro has absolutely no market relevance to the Australian market , it is NOT available to purchase , therefore my comment was bang on .
Im so Happy to see Marcos again . . . :D
the more we go back to the good old days the better it is going to be.
This might bring me back to watching every weekend! I just hope its competitive and not dominated by 1 or 2 teams...
DJR and 888 racing do the development.. Hmm.. I'm guessing they might start a few yards ahead of the crowd..
Only took 3 minutes of hearing how exciting it will be, and I was bored
Thats awesome, more demo sprint races from the host drivers please 🙏
Be good to see past rivals and champions (Skaife, Murphy, Tander, Lowndes, Whincup, Ambrose… as well as international drivers and from different categories - Ricciardo etc) go toe to toe in exhibitions like this every event.. 5 laps in an equally competitive chosen car manufacturers vehicle 🚗 🚙
Reminds me of ROC (Race of Champions)
Wow Marcus has still got it ..racing that close with Tander...
Estos coches harán, si cabe, más atractiva la categoría. 👍👍🇪🇦🇦🇷
At least the Mustang actually LOOKS like a Mustang now, and not the failed abortion that's currently racing on the track.
the current mustang a failure? lol pretty sure it smashed the opals 3 years in a row and even the fg-x smashed them in 2017 you clown lol
@@cameronsams-munro5640 you completely miss understood what he said and made yourself look like a clown lol
They keep talking market relevance with the chevy but you can't buy one here and its on the chopping block in the us. they waited way too long to get this deal done and they should have had it done while hsv was still importing them for the "win on sunday, sell on monday" reasons.
I believe you can get a Camaro and it will come back in the US as an electric vehicle just as a few other manufacturers are doing with the high performance range so it will be relevant
Be great to know the lap times of that run to compare to the gen 2 that were racing there the same day.
They were running around the 54 second mark. which is impressive all things considered
@@RyRyMTD that is impressive, i think SVG was racing mid 52s.
@@wayno23 I’ve run the stop watch on them up here at QR and they’re not any slower haha. If anything they may actually be faster. I clocked the Camaro on a mid 1:08 which is ludicrous. Bear in mind that’s manual timing so i’m sure i’m off by a couple of tenths or so.
@@RyRyMTD thanks mate yeah they're so close. Gen 3 is actually lighter and more torque, i think eventually the team's will set them up spot on and be some great battles.
@@RyRyMTD Ah no LOL you did not. If you clocked any Camaro at a 68 it would have been a V8 race drive car on the clubman circuit LOL
Sooooo wrong
Dare i say they havent reached parity yet??? lol
In the early part of the coverage, Ambrose slowed down the back straight, lifting twice for extended periods, allowing Tander to get closer, clearly audible in the in-car footage.
It all looks awesome though.
No iconic Australian Supercar Race anymore ! Well done (sarcasm) Australia for being Amertralian now in Car Racing ? Good onyah Australian Holdens and Fords dying out !
I love V8's!
mustang looks great
Market relevant…….where?
"most market relevant car......" seriously? I know you guys make a living at this stuff and have to hype it up , but that is seriously delusional.
I'm just saying might be an idea to get some of the older cars out if possible and compare them all to one another.
Compo said market relevance. Mustang yes, the Camaro????
It looks just like a Camaro
@@horsefly1020 market relevance? Where do you buy one?
@@bigkeg9173 chevy dealer. You can go online here in the states and order one.
@@horsefly1020 Australian race series mate, we don't have Camaros here. We can buy mustangs off the showroom floor but no Camaros
@@bigkeg9173your better off not buying one. I wouldn't buy one and im a chevy guy. The visibility sucks in those Camaros the mustangs and challenger's are much better.
Well done, Ambrose! Clever!
The Lion has finally left the racetrack - end of an era. That first generation Monaro was an absolute beast, but there's no point living in the past.
It will be proved, to be a nothing series lucky to last two season's.
That's one season too many.
I'm a huge fan of the Chev!
Market relevance = TCR.
how is TCR market relevant? Not saying this is market relevant, just asking.
Great stuff, but I do lament they're both so American, not Aussie cars at all. Maybe V8 Supercars were on the right track with the Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo's from a few years back. If it can't be Aussie, just race whatever is in the current market with a nice sounding V8! Would love to see Lexus in there and I know Mazda almost made an appearance too!
That Camaro is a beast. So much more power than that hunk of junk Ford. 🤣
Gen 2 lap record is 51 22. Who can roughly work out what these bad boys are doing ?
They were running around the 54 second mark. which is impressive all things considered
@@RyRyMTD thanks.
I'm just happy these are V8s and not flappy paddle.
Let me get this straight. Holden fans are expected to support a car manufactured by the company that closed Holden, renigged on the fixed price servicing for all Holdens and screwed the dealers? Seriously?
Yep… or they can support the Mustang 🤷♂️
Yep. And a car that's being axed globally!
It's happening all over the world. I just want to see good racing. There will always be rivallary regardless GM or the blue oval. They look and sound great. As long as it's panel to panel racing I'm not too worried....gotta move on.
their idiots, they rather buy a Nissan or VW. never a Ranger ...lol..
fbogans.
So what’s the difference? Both brands are American not Australian, GM screwed Holden but Ford America didn’t fully support Ford Australia as they shut them down also, in racing terms GM always supported super cares where as Ford came when they were competitive and left when they weren’t how many times. Both brands have screwed the Aussie public over so they are just as bad, trying to say one is worse than the other just because you support a particular brand is one eyed bullcrap, call things as they are!
Hopefully supercars wont be so boring next year , lets hope .
Sic looking chev😍......and just another dime a dozen mustang🤦🏼♂️
Great! Looking forward to this!
Gee the mustang looks quick
Wow that Camaro is flying
Hmmmm both cars are MANUAL! Have Supercars decided to discard semi-auto paddle shift?
they were having a serious go!
Cannot wait bring on 2023 race day 1
Camaro already got a DRL out lol
So thse cars are manual after all ?
The sound is amazing 🤩
They don't sound as raw and intense as the current cars.
They definitely do. Especially in person
Thats awesome. I wish we had this kind of cars in europe.
Cars way wider
glad to see Ford have finally got rid of that rear spoiler design that they have been using since the EB
Reminds me of the day. COTF
what?
Bathurst moto gp would be interesting...
Love the shape of the Mustang, pity it has changed now.
Market relevance?? When did you see a Camaro on the road, old or new?
Ambrose and scafe should come out of retirement.
All that's missing is the hellcat charger version
Charger or Challenger?
@@MrSkeleton131 V8 Supercars has the Mustang on the racetrack, Camaro is about to enter the race, all they need now is the widebody hellcat charger, that's Ford and Chevrolet, why not complete it and add the missing piece. I personally am not too keen on the challenger for the track.
@@srthellcathemi3037 Challenger to me would make more sense since it's a 2 door coupe like the mustang and camaro
@@MrSkeleton131 Good point, though I think it's not built for the track but drag strip, in a straight line is what it's known for, Dodge could build a 2 door charger for this particular event.
@@srthellcathemi3037 That's a fair point actually, the marketing for the challenger and it's hellcat and demon variations was big on drag racing. If the charger was going to enter any sort of racing competition it'd be the 4 door model, no point in making a 2 door model
just sucks we cant have aussie manufacturing .
Comment on facebook "did someone tell them we only have one of each??"😂
Marcus Ambrose good driver
Market relevance?? That pile of s**t Camaro isn't sold new in Australia and doesn't even come in a factory right hand drive. . . . So what market relevance ?? Yet again catering to GM like always. I hope Ford walks away from this now turned rubbish series. I'm surprised Ford hasn't walked away considering how much this crap series caters to holden and GM constantly, while Ford gets penalized consistently. . . Its a jokes
go watch something else then. simple
@@nickycrea6075 no
Race em now ..wildcard entries!
Are those shifters just for show since I heard they're going paddle shifters?
The GM was going to run with paddles (as it is what the street car uses) but they announced reciently that both cars will use a sequential shifter.
When did you hear that? They said they were scrapping paddles ages ago!
they scrapped paddles as they wanted raw cars that the drivers have to control every input
@@simel2007 ok thanks I haven't been keeping up 100% with it recently
@@tturi2 it takes input to use paddles. You input go to a H pattern
The only way😁
I thought Chev was deleted the comaro from their production line as of next. so why run these cars.
Camaro will be an electric vehicle so don’t count it out yet, they are still selling the Camaro at the moment so it is more relevant than the Current commodore or the last Falcon that raced at the time
what should they run then??
I want a drive 😎
Market relevant…? How?
engines are crate motors you can actually buy
American looking cars= BOARING, the end of Australian V8 supercars.
bring on GT3 with European looking cars.... supercars are at least trying to keep the sport alive. look at DTM and what happened there, it sucks.
Just because you're patriotic doesn't mean you're right, these cars look fantastic
The 5.7 Lt was all over the 5.4 Lt coyote ?
do you think they were racing, ??
the guy in the black car is a fidiot showing off to the chick, Ambross was clued up, to know that, an let the idiot by.
Hard to tell cause you have one guy that still races in the series and one that has been out for a while so skill wise was probably a contributing factor here
Good evaluation ! As a fan of the sport don't want to see a cubic inch addvanich .
@@craiggutterson2895 they have done a few videos of the engines and showed that on dyno they are so close together throughout the rev range, they have done a great job of making the engine almost identical even though the have different displacement
That Ford Mustang looks & sounds awesome, but what is that other one supposed to be?
A better sounding and looking car
NAWT! @@DIVLJIVUK
@@DIVLJIVUK faster one also after seeing that 😂😂😂
I am not a ford or holden fan in any way just observation. Holden has not got the goods, no planning no car to compete with for about 5 years or so, here holden has got the camaro which will end production very soon, I was very surprised when a certain person said commodore racecar had copied the ford in the 1990's era. even used the ford nine diff pattern what did holden have, nothing by the sounds of things, ford has had the mustang since about 2017 in appearance and here it is 2022 and holden has only just shown a camaro which is obsolete. Seems like holden is asleep at the wheel and not spending any money and had nothing for us to see but a huge gap from then to now waiting for whispers to copy the ford seems like ford kept quiet and done the work in the years leading up to 2017 while holden was sleeping. Huge cheating by supercars with not equal racecars putting more weight in the roof of the mustang to affect the roll balance making it more top heavy and thus can't get on the gas as quick to handicap the ford more so holden had more chance of winning, even explained in this video ford can't get the power down blaming downforce but I think it is top heavy built to unequal supercar regulations by badge All I say is play fair holden and supercars
Your comments show you know very little about racing. GM has been involved heavier than Ford with Supercars for a long time, the parity rubbish you talk about was because of centre of gravity, not hard to work out when you see the car to realise the ford had a better centre of gravity. Holden had nothing and pinched a nine inch, might have pinched a nine inch but remember early nineties when Ford couldn’t build a competitive car and this shared Holden components? There is much stuff going back and forth between both brands so your one eyed rubbish shows you know nothing
@@knight2425 shows you don't know much about racing and one eyed, I do not follow any brand just observation and you have contradicted perkins racing so who do we believe you or perkins, my money is on perkins he will bring us home

Roly-poly saying that the chef will be the most market relevant car they are to race to date that’s rich considering that the Camaro is dead in two years time. Typical GM flogging a car that one wants or can afford as well flogging a car that’s dead.
