That episode felt way more extreme than most of the previous ones, with the crash and the fire and the utter destruction. And watching the crash, it certainly did look much more serious than it actually was. Seeing his head jerk towards the window with no airbag curtains, and seeing his dazed expression when he exited the car, I was so sure he had a concussion and I teared up a bit. I was in a crash while I had my head resting against the window of a chevy spark before my side was rammed by an SUV with a nudge bar. I think I would have either had serious eye injuries with glass in my eyes, or suffered severe head/brain trauma had I not decided to lay my seat back and lie down 10 seconds before we got hit. I remember looking down at the shards of glass all over my lap and chest and just dissasociating, thinking I was in a dream the first few seconds after the crash. It is just such a scary experience.
However, my bf and I both loved the episode, my boyfriend even more so because he's northern Swedish and was very excited to see them visit. We can't wait for the next!

Really enjoyed this video with a more personal and slow paced talk about the cars.
Sad that the Evo was written off but surely some parts must be salvageable. Hopefully bits of it can live on elsewhere.

the wrx and evo really are special cars. WRC has produced a handful of timeless classics and these are definitely two of the best. they tapped in to that special kind of mechanical magic; where the passion that went into the design becomes tangible in the form of driving experience

See, for me being a bit older, I'd look at the (original!) Audi Quattro, and the Mitsubishi Galant as being rally classics. Of course, anyone even marginally older than me would probably be muttering something angry about the Ford Escort right now... but really, that 5cyl Quattro blatting through a rally stage, makes the hairs on your hair stand on end.

I really feel like that EVO needs to be put on a plinth and preserved. I honestly can't believe that May isn't keeping it because that car was the hero of the story. Completely indestructible. By the end it looked hung drawn and quartered and yet it still got to the there. A true testament to Japanese quality and a great example of a car with an enormous heart!

One of the best GT episodes yet. I loved every second of it. It reminded me of the good old days on TG. Also, a former EVO owner and current STi owner I prefer the STi. It's not faster and it's less capable over all, but they are fantastic cars and they sound so special.

My wife and I were sitting on the couch watching the most recent special, and when James crashed into the wall, I had a very emotional reaction. I had crashed my motorbike two weeks prior (and received some injuries), and James is my favorite of the three, and I just sat there on the couch weeping in sympathy and maybe a little PTSD. It was certainly an emotional moment. I'm glad to see he seems to have healed up well.
