As a drummer myself its so hard for us as we have to be perfect all the time. Anytime a drummer makes a mistake everybody notices. The rest of the band can get away with it. We cant.
Well the drummer is the glue. So if he/she comes unglued, of course everything's going to fall apart. I wouldn't hold it again a drummer though. Shit happens.
This is what makes live music so important and special - the risk and reward! I love mistakes because they show every player is human and most of the time they are barely visible/audible in a show. It's when mistakes get to the artists and anger erupts that a show becomes unenjoyable. Some people take their playing way too seriously and these guys clearly understand shit happens and are clutch enough to recover very quickly.
Yes that was TRANSMISSION by Joy Division, and it sounded Awesome! I would not mind hearing them play that live. Hope that will happen soon. It's great the band is so comfortable that they would put this out. Much Love to you RHCP! My all time favorite band. Side 4 of STADIUM ARCADIUM is on my turntable now. Peace and Love.

The transition would’ve been phenomenal, I don’t think Chad picked up on it as Fru was ending the joy division’s bit. Neither did flea though. Mistakes were made and a funny face.
actually chad was the one who messed up i guess cos they always used to start right on time after transmission but chad is a genius too so the title stays right lol
I love it when these guys riff on 80s bands in their shows. When I saw them they added some Echo and the Bunnymen and some Ramones. Great to hear Transmission intro being played live
It's really weird that with this song particularly live they are often not Right On Time..although I think both times the guitarists weren't at fault (they messed up the timing during both John and Josh era).
The intro song is. Right on Time is what they're leading into at the end. They often play something else or just do a pseudo-rehearsed jam before a song live to mix it up a bit and just not repeat the album versions too closely.
