    Yes, yes, yes. If someone would make a full-size 2 door SUV I would seriously consider buying one. Not a midsized or compact, but a FULL-SIZE with a V-8 option, 2 row seating with plenty of storage or UTILITY..

    • @bindingcurve

      Your the only one. Everyone will buy the 4 door. Even midsized SUVs most people buy the 4 door if there is a 2 door option. Even the bronco only sells about 25% as the two door. How many 2 door trucks are sold outside of the trades. I would like to buy a 2 door manual Bronco once the craziness dies down, but how knows if Ford will still make them in 2 years?

  • @buckshot4428
    @buckshot4428 2 года назад +1

    GM & Ford and others have lost their minds in designing their vehicles. There is still a segment of people that would much rather have a bare bones truck or suv with the following. V8 engine, solid front axle, locking hubs, a/c, power brakes, door locks, decent stereo system, 4wd shifter on the floor, reliable transmission, bigger tires and wheels, no carpet. These new trucks have so many electronic gizmos that most who buy them don't even know what they have or how to use them. It's crazy to pay what the new ones cost. Give the average working man or woman an affordable/dependable truck or suv.

    Chevy is in a really good position for it. They've got the 3L duramax, the 5.3 and 6.2 which would all be great choices for engines for a new SUV.
    To be completely honest, They could have a very strong launch with 5.3 V8 base. Then develop and offer the 3L and 5.3 as hybrids kind of like the f150 hybrid. Then maybe either the 6.2 or the 5.3 supercharged as options on a raptor competitor. The 3L duramax hybrid could be a huge hit in the Suburban, silverado and blazer.

      You should check out the Mercedes E300 de: diesel-electric hybrid. "The E300de managed to do about 270 miles of heavily congested and often completely choked highways on a third of a tank. That’s about 55 mpg on diesel and reclaimed electricity", I would buy that in a truck.

    • @leroyj9044
      @leroyj9044 2 года назад

      @@paladin11C40 Probably wouldn't get that in a truck, but depending on design and tuning, I could see them in the 30-40mpg range. But even at current mpg, on board power could be huge for sales.

    The only way I would buy one is if GM would actually do it right. Dont just make it look like its offroad capable. A true platform and drivetrain that was built to be great off road that you could also drive on the road between trails. They don't need to build anymore Z-71 offroad wannabees which is just a regular truck with offroad shocks, rear govlock diff and aggressive tires. Things that are a must: front and rear selectable lockers, low tcase gearing, heavy duty (solid) axles, flexy suspension, real ground clearance, minimal computer interface. Keep it simple like the K5 was. The more computer gadgets and bells and whistles they put into it they price themselves out of the market that actually wants to buy one. Did I mention bring the solid axles back too? Ideally make it easy to modify for the aftermarket world because let's face it, it will be modified. Look at the Wrangler and why it's so popular. Easy to modify and has a ton of aftermarket support to personalize it. If they could do all of this Hell Yeah I would buy one!

    Yes I would buy one but a design that would blow this one out of the water make a new updated square body like you did in 1973 modify it give it an update 454 high output engine this would make the Ford Bronco look like a little toy compared to it please please please I would help you design it. !!People today still love it and younger generations are discovering the square body design and I guarantee it would be the most successful new production in the last 25 years hands down!!!

    Yes I would, I have 2021 ZR2 and its been the best vehicle I have ever driven. When I first bought it we had a snow storm and a friend called me and said his friend was stuck in a tractor trailer. I figured wth i'd see what it could do. So I hooked up to a 43' fully loaded semi put it into low 4 wheel and !locked both lockers and let off the break and let the truck do the work and once it got traction it pulled this semi up this snow covered decline like I've never seen before. The semi driver was so impressed he went bought one the following week. So I give the ZR2 an outstanding rating being it has the best traction control I have ever driven in snow/icy conditions.

    I love the Bronco, but it has major drawbacks for me (and some others I’m sure) that Blazer would not have. Those are 1) multi-piece removable roof (many people love that, but many of us don’t want the wind noise that inevitably comes with that, even with the roof on), 2) manual seats (except for the most expensive trims), and 3) exterior rear mounted spare tire, which requires an extender for a bike rack.

    Yep that’s the Blazer I expected, must have some of those Ivy League designers in the lab vs the people who really do the work and know trucks.

    I loved the back in the day blazer when I was a small child is what got me into four-wheel-drive and, when I turned 18 and got my drivers license I found out that they Cut the Blazers balls off. And try to see how many cups holders I can put in. So I had to buy a Jeep. Thanks a lot Chevy for chopping of the Blazers balls it will never be the same. Keep pleasing the suburbia family and their pet dogs. Ford understands the true nature callers.

    I would! With the condition of having a column shifter! …. The new tahoe would be perfect with it, there was no point of changing a feature that worked so well throughout the years … the team who did it they didnt listened their customers

      Agreed! The column shifter is a must.👍 I think most manufacturers are just following the trend without considering whether it actually should or not.

    As a K5 owner I would definitely buy one. I had the opportunity to buy a new Blazer last year for my wife,but she chose something else. She felt it was the same as the Equinox we had and lost faith in the brand.

    I OWNED A '78 K5 Blazer for 32 years. I had to cave, and buy a Tahoe to pull my boat. I don't need and don't want 4 doors and all that length for an every day driver. Chevy, you make it, I'll buy it.

    Current Colorado ZR2 owner. If reasonably priced I would trade in a "Heartbeat" if you know what I mean. For a retro boost bring back the "Like a Rock" advertising and show the ZR2 actually outdoors climbing something not going to the mall or the lumber yard. Unfortunately it will never happen unless it is 90K but oh well, a guy can dream!

    I’d put a deposit down tomorrow. Like no bullshit. This would be a childhood dream - to own a full-size K-Blazer - come true. Do this, GM. I’m already planning to buy a Silverado LT Trail Boss but if this Blazer were available, I’d be first in line to scoop one!

    I proudly admit that when the current Blazer was released, I wanted to throw up and start a protest against the GM executives lol. I was confused as much as I was disappointed. I've owned three K5 Blazers and a 1991 GMC Jimmy with all the bells and whistles for the last year of the square body K5's. Not only do I love the K5 series trucks, I live, breathe and dream about them 24/7. Regretfully, I sold my 1991 Jimmy. A decision I will regret for the rest of my life. I'd buy the new K5 Blazer if it's coming to market someday. But my love and passion will always favor the first and second generation K5 Blazers/Jimmy's.

    The Blazer/Jimmy name started on the offroad GM vehicle. They should have always been competing with Jeep and toyota in this area. They went away from the formula when SUV sales went nuts in the 90s. They saw the sales numbers on the 4door tahoe (which was a mini van that didnt suck). They made the Blazer into a smaller mini van that didnt suck, but soccer moms didnt want the 2 doors. If they would have kept the 2 door a jeep competitor with options for front and rear lockers and special suspension or lifts, etc. It would have sold on par with jeep and 4 runners. Just need to market it as an off roader that can go anywhere and take anything you want with you. Boat, trailer, bikes. And you can camp in the back if you want too.

    Both fuel banks still reading 0.0 or 1.0 bank 2.
