I wanted to thank you all for the feedback, it's been interesting seeing you all inform me of characters I didn't know or forgot about (how the hell I forgot about Cole in SF X Tekken is a mystery to me) And that to address people wondering about Smash Bros that one falls under the "no dedicated crossover games" rule (mentioned at 0:55) to which SF X Tekken was an exception cause i wanted to bring up Megaman and Pacman. There's an argument to be made that I could have done a Smash Bros section just listing off every non Nintendo character, such as Sonic, Snake, Joker, etc. I personally feel Smash as times gone on has sort of evolved beyond being just a Nintendo Fighter, Smash Ultimate specifically almost feels like a celebration of gaming as a whole, if you disagree with me on that it's totally fine though. While I try to focus my videos on being entertaining first, informative second. I will try and dig a bit deeper when researching in future videos such as this, and again I thank you all for the feedback on this video.
Technically, yoshimitsu is a guest character in the soul series. He first appeared in the original tekken game, and ended up in soul calibur for arcade and dreamcast.
Yea Microsoft internal shenanigans... which has it's own welps... You got Mortal Kombat Xì and 90s heroes theme going on, as an example... then you get Horror icons... I swear something got mixed up
Okay so correction about Guy & Cody, they did not get introduced in Street Fighter 4, Guy was introduced in Street Fighter Alpha 1, and Cody in Alpha 3. In fact, the Alpha series has other Final Fight characters like Rolento, Sodom & Maki.
The sad thing about licensed characters; Is that most of the time they have a very unique moveset/playstyle or mechanic, that in the sequels when they don’t come back, they also don’t give a character that plays even a little similar.
I think the closest one we have now is in tekken 8 victor being a sort of successor to noctis... Although I gotta say I miss all the 2d fighters from tekken 7... Added a new layer to the game
@@retroman5432 yeah I guess he does as well but I think the ranged pistol into a blink in to melee range stuff is a noctis thing... Also his sword atks reminds me of noctis weapons
@@levisamom5069 Noctis doesn't even have a gun in Tekken 7, LOL. And I guess we're gonna pretend Kunimitsu/Master Raven doesn't have weapons of their own, one of them literally having a Sword?
@@retroman5432 u don't get what I meant at all do u... Noctis can throw his weapon from range and then blink in just like victor can shoot his gun from range and blink in... Two fun facts for anyone that doesn't know! 1. Morrigan Aensland was planned for Tekken 7's DLC, and it's speculated that after she was scrapped, the mechanics they made for her went to Eliza. 2. Melty Blood: Type Lumina was originally pitched as a Type-Moon Crossover fighting game, that's partially why Saber made it onto the base roster. But with Tsukihime's Remake coming out, Type-Moon figured a new Melty Blood was a better choice. So the four Fate characters do kinda make sense when you think about what Type Lumina was going to be.
14:09 Ayane was in DOA first before NG Black...also DOA is in the same universe as Ninja Gaiden so Hayabusa, Rachel and Momiji being in it is more of a Street Fighter/Final Fight situation than a guest character. DOA5 also had multiple Virtua Fighter characters who, similar to Akuma in T7, made cameos in the story.
Dlc wise for melty blood i think we will only get them once part 2 of Tsukihime remake is out Good thing is ofc they are free but it will take a while Also funny enough the only reason Saber is in Melty Blood Type Lumina is because French Bread do want to make a Fate fighting game and they made her sprite for fun right before Type Moon ask them for a new Melty Blood so she just kinda stay in the game since they made her already Source being from one of Type Lumina first livestream on their channel
darth vader still shocks me, i had so much fun with him i don't know what "devious favors" namco did for lucasarts to approve, now we need darth vader in mortal kombat we can finally see what a lightsaber can really do to the human body O.O
I really don't call saber a cross over, when it is actually a meeting a character from same series with same series which share same universe..just having different title
I would personally like to see Guest Characters in general coming back to future fighting game sequels. Imagine in MK1 where we could see the return of both Freddy Kreuger and Jason Vorhees together, or have Noctis and Negan come back and play a huge role in the Tekken 8 Story DLC. There's so many possibilities of what you can do with them.
Actually, Aoko first appearence is in Tsukihime (2000), she only appears on the prologue of the game though, so she is technically a Tsukihime character
While there are cases where I begrudge the inclusion of guest characters (2B in "Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising" or the 3 1/2 "F/GO" characters in "Melty Blood: Type Lumina" for example), that's usually cause there already exists a sizable existing cast that they could be pulling from instead. But really, guest characters can be pretty fun usually, especially seeing how they get reworked to function under different systems and mechanics. "Million Arthur: Arcana Blood" for example, contrary to this fitting my complaint above, had multiple guest characters despite a relatively small roster. Riesz from "Trials of Mana" with Hawkeye as well but as an assist, Koume from "Lord of Vermillion IV", Akira Oono from "Hi Score Girl" as another assist, and Iori from "King of Fighters" for some reason. Literally 1/4 of the main playable roster were guest characters. Another interesting one is technically "Nitroplus Blasterz". While it is a crossover fighter, it mainly focuses on IPs from Nitroplus but they still managed to get some guest characters outside their brand. Heart Aino from "Arcana Heart" (since Examu developed the game), Homura from "Senran Kagura" (since Marvelous published the game), and Saber from specifically "Fate/Zero" (since Gen Urobuchi, who wrote it, primarily works for Nitroplus). Yes, Saber was a guest character prior to "Type Lumina" and Heart was matched with a "Senran Kagura" character before "BBTAG". Funny how that works. I guess while on that, "Under Night" also counts. Eltnam/Eltnum is Sion from "Melty Blood" and Akatsuki is from "Akatsuki Blitzkampf".
I really wished Tekken had more characters from other Bandai Namco IPs, especially from Digimon and Time Crisis. I've been wanting Mimi Tachikawa and Christy Ryan in a Tekken game since the Tekken 7 days.
@@hhaammzzaattaarraaff3313 Sion would just be treated as another guest character in this continuity, which is probably why Nasu doesn't want to add her without a real story. Adding every character related to the main MB story (Sion, vampire Sion, Zepia, White Len, Riesbyfe) is probably out of question as there's also the Red Garden cast with both old and new characters that should have priority. Also there could be more TM guest characters as well. Point is, Sion could show up but in the same capacity as Ushiwakamaru.
