She’s holding up an angled Ktuned 2.5” muffler and let me tell you. It fuckin works, worked through snow storms, the hottest summer days. Praise be to the zip ties and Honda AMEN!
I had this happen on a vw golf. It was the vehicle speed sensor. Good thing is, since the car didn’t think it was moving, the odometer never went up either. 5k miles driven and it stayed at 135,000 total
My 93 civic that I built and drove and played with in highschool yes I modded a civic but light mods like turbos exhaust system header, head work done to the head new forged rods and pistons. When I got it the odometer read 45k miles the person I got it from took care of it and barely drove it cause she was a elderly lady. The speedometer sensor went out at 53k miles and the odometer never moved so when I sold it I finally fixed the Speedo sensor cause I wanted everything to work when I sold it and I probably put 100k miles on it as I was modding it and I made 5500 dollars profit bought it for 1100 sold it for 12,500 and made 5500 dollars profit cause I had 10k and some change in parts just in the motor

Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system!
It might be corrosion in the speed sensor connector pins. The connector faces down causing water that splashes from the road to collect where the cables go into the connector. Over time, it makes its way past the old rubber seal into the terminal.
As an person studying car mechanics I can say that the reason for that could be electrical issue but it’s an civic what did you expect(no hate to civics we just get a lot of civics)
It’s even funnier for me, my dash lights don’t work properly so I have to hit the dash a certain way for them to come on. Most of the time at night, I can’t even see how fast I’m going
Had that same issue and the lights behind it didn’t work. So I went to the junkyard and found a automatic gauge cluster with a tach (mine is a manual that had no tach) and I changed the miles on the odometer readout to my cars exact mileage and swapped them out. Now my speedometer works and all the lights, and I added a tachometer to my car.
Check the intake separator by lifting the flux capacitor out of the way, removing the hinges off the hatchback canopy and adjusting the blinker fluid levels until you get a read on the speedometer. That should do it. And if all else fails like 👇 said, maybe add some zip ties and check the VTech sticker for peeling.

If it’s not the Vtec sticker, then it could be bad soldering. Over time they get bad and brake away so you would have to re-solder the wires on in your cluster
Probably when you got a new clutch installed, there’s this speedo gear that wasn’t screwed in all the way. That happened to me once. The speedo gear is on the passenger side of the engine towards the bottom.
Common issue on 90s Hondas. I bought my 94 Accord wagon that way. Every now and then it would work for a couple minutes then go back, mine was stuck at 20 mph, and the odo is in the same cluster so the mileage wasn't accurate either.
VSS " Vehicle Speed Sensor " on your transmission went bad, its a black Sensor on the top backside of your transmission. They sometimes go bad but very cheap to replace.
As a former civic owner I had that issue. Full throttle, filled with premium, autozone intake and mixed in with chevron additive and yet mph won’t even go to 1.
This is the well known “Fuse 15 issue”, my civic is a patient of it. You need to replace the wiring harness or identify the specific wire wrong or replace it.
I would love to see civic drivers driving a C6 Z06 😂 they aren’t the fastest of cars but going from a 1.8 or smaller to a 7.0L V8 would probably be pretty damn crazy

When all the sudden I heard a tiny pop sound somewhere downward in front of me, and instantly a metal cord zipping winding up sound. Poof! All the sudden the speedometer went flat. It’s either one or the other. You have these built civics that people say are crazy fast but the speedometer is always reading 40+ faster than the car is actually going or you have the flip side where the speedometer says you are barely moving. They are never correct

Check your speed sensor wire, they stretch easily on the 90s models. Happened on my 94

Check your TCP / IP settings and make sure there is paper in the lower tray.
Actually that’s either your speed sensor or the blow speed sensor/ alternator fuse in the under dash.

The gear is brittle they always break also check your engine because it seems like the DOHC VTEC isn’t kicking which it should at around 6k rpm

The VSS had a dinky little plastic gear that breaks. No VSS no Speedo. Those gears are about 30 years old at thos point.
check your front tire pressure, fill to 80 PSI in each tire!
