When I saw restoring in the title, I didn’t expect this level of attention to detail. This was very satisfying to watch. Made me miss my old CRX Si even more.
I remember when you first got this car. To be honest I thought you’d never finish the full restoration because it needed attention literally everywhere… hats off to you for seeing the project through to the finish. Truly an epic outcome, thank you for sharing🙏
I cannot begin to express the joy I had in watching this video. I used to own one of these Honda's. I purchased one when I lived in LA 1991. When I purchased this car it was just a few years old, but it looked brand, spankin' news. Man, how I loved that car! When I moved back to NY, I drove it across the country in just 4-days! But, sadly enough, that's when I lost the car. It started with one break in, then another break in, then it was vandalized and I finally just sold it because I didn't want to keep dumping money into repairs and glass replacements. Still, of all the cars that I owned, this one was one of my favorites. So, watching this restoration video was especially enjoyable for me! You do fantastic work, my friend.
This guy makes me feel so unaccomplished in life lol. Hats of to people who have the skills to pull this kind of restoration off, start to finish. Thanks for sharing your journey Seth. Truly amazing!
Not sure if you’ll read this but this restoration is unbelievable! I watched every second of it and could not believe the effort and detail you put into this. I used to have a 1990 CRX Si in black and this brought back so many memories! You are definitely one talented dude! Amazing job!
Damn! The sheer breadth and depth of skill, plus the attention to detail on the small stuff; those OEM tags/stickers/decals. Epic content! I watched the whole 30 minutes not skipping a beat. As a content creator myself, can't even begin to imagine the size of the raw files you edited the video from. Kudos, man!
Phreakin' Phantastic! I bought a brand-new OG '85 Black CRXsi (with the "rubberized" whale-tail rear spoiler), with my then-wife following 3 years later with a Red '88 CRXsi. I had 236,000 miles on the original clutch until body cancer in the unibody frame decided to go "crunch" one day around 2000 when a mechanic attempted to put it up on a lift for routine service. Sad day indeed! Never did know what happened to ex-wifey's, as we parted ways in '91. To this day, my Black '85 CRXsi was the most fun I've ever had on four wheels. Cheers!
Well that was the most random suggestion on my front page that I have sat through, completely mesmerized, for half an hour. Incredible work isn't even close to enough praise.
Wow, it came out amazing, not to mention going by the OEM+ route is in my opinion the best way to go when it comes to these 90's cars. Always had a soft spot for these generation of CRX's and Second Generation Eclipses since i was a kid, yet i always remember this gen's CRX everywhere back in highscool. In my opinion, 90's cars has always had a special charm that hasn't been able to be replicated with today's cars.
The fact that you helped the community and listed all the links for other enthusiasts is amazing. I just found a barn find and currently negotiating with the owner and praying I’ll have a build like this next. The CRX was my first car and I’ve been wanting one for over 22 since I sold mine
RUclips gifted me one of the best restoration videos I've seen in a while. Seeing how rough the condition of CRX was, now to it's current point..? An amazing transformation, It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The editing of this video was spectacular and the B-roll footage at the end was so satisfying. Great work!
There's just something about these late 80s to late 90s Honda's that seems magical. Engineered with such attention to detail, yet simplistic enough to take apart. Every part had a purpose and was designed to be as easy to remove as it is to put on. That being said, your work and car is gorgeous. A true craftsman and artist.
I seriously wanted to cry watching this as my first car in 1993 was a 1989 Civic Si and my best friend got a 1990 CRX Si a year later and I still miss those cars to this day. For only 108 hp and barely 100lbft torque, being as light a s they were, they were ridiculously fun cars to drive. Hell at 50 I still dream about that Civic Si that I still own it and wake up wondering if I still do, they are so vivid. Forget the exotics, if I ever won the lottery, I'd want BOTH of those era cars fully restored and since I don't have the technical ability or inclination, I 'd pay to have them done as well as you did yours! I'm sure you're enjoying the hell out of as I know I would be!
I had a 91 si for a little over 10 years. I drove cross country a couple times in it, and it rarely had issues. This resto is a tribute to hondas of that era, well done!
found an 88 CRX in the parts section of craigslist, bought it for $100.00 Towed it home charged up the battery & she fired right up. HANDS DOWN the best 100 dollars i have ever spent. it is a fun little blast from the past that i will never get rid of. awesome video and mind blown on your pro restore, you are the man seth
This is the best restoration video I have ever seen, maybe even best car video period. Going fully oem made it even better. Never cared for CRX, but this made me love it. Mad props for this build and amazing edit! You deserve to have a million subscribers!
Subaru guy here. Done this with those. But, I have always had a huge soft spot for the CRXSi and this was an amazing job! I get to see it all in 30 minutes and it was 2 years for you. Looks like a very well done project! My two favorite parts about the build are the stock wheels and near stock ride height retained. And, I love the period looking exhaust. Yes, it is an upgrade per se, but it looks spot on in black!
As a loyal honda fan since high school (1996), I really want to thank you for this video. I remember going to a dealership during the first summer after I graduated HS and sitting in a red 1991 CRX. I worked the whole summer trying to make enough money for a down payment that never happened, but I sure wanted a honda. I bought my first Honda in 1999 and that's still my brand after 24 yrs. I feel old remembering this but hey you can't stop time. ❤
I've done this once. Not many people can say they started and finished a complete restoration man. I did a DelSol. It tried me at every turn. You went above and beyond what I did. Bravo! Came out looking immaculate! Thank you for sharing!
This is without a doubt in my mind the best restoration video of a car I've seen on the internet to date. Your love and passion for the vehicle shines through brilliantly at every moment. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I can see that the work that was put into this car was beyond what was presented in this 30min video, like the polishing of the paint job and the seats. I should definitely watch the more in depth videos on this, really cool and inspiring
Mad mad props! That end result is sooooooo worth it, and huge W for keeping it mostly stock and preserving what the CRX was meant to be. I hope I can get a CRX one day.
Man you inspire all of us to not only motivate us to build our own builds or finish them but also has helped us understand that with time and effort you can take it somewhere 👊🏻
If nobody has told you I am telling you now. I am proud of you for what you did with this car. Absolutely fucking amazing. Thank you for filming all of it to share..
Not many people will fully appreciate how many endless hours of incredibly hard work went into this car. Very well done! I'd try contact the main Honda company and tell them to check this out!:) I'm sure they'd be proud of your work!
did the exact same process to my 96 EK hatch, as well as integra brake swap and b18c1 swap, 100% of it done by me in my garage start to finish, took a little over 2 years including the rust repair and have the 700+ picture google photos album to prove it lol. incredibly satisfying to be able to say you did every bit of the work yourself.
This is such a love letter and beautiful restoration. My first car was an ‘89 CRX Si and I try to look for a good ‘90-91 every chance I get. I didn’t realize as I got older that I would be so nostalgic about these things and here I am at 35 wishing I could find one again. Thank you for this video - it’s really well done!
@practice4617 thats funny i got in so much trouble with mine. It was a 90 but automatic. Still the funnest car ive ever owned. Could take corners at 55 and still had grip. Amazing.
Wow, its been a long time coming. I’m enjoyed every episodes throughout the build. Glad you made a 30 minute restoration as a recap to show the unconditional love and sweat you put into this car. The next owner will be very lucky and im certain the car will sell in no time.
No, thank you! I've watched this video at least a dozen times, and pick up something new every time. Your knowledge, skill, and passion absolutely come through in every frame. This should be essential viewing for anyone that is restoring their vehicle. Absolute perfection. Can't wait to see more of your work. Keep it up, sir.
Whenever I'm having trouble sleeping I revisit this video. Don't get me wrong. It's so satisfying to see the level of attention put on this restoration process, it amazes me every single time. Once I finish your video my brain feels relaxed and in peace, and then I proceed to have an amazing night's sleep. Brutal video
the dedication and methodical approach to this resto is essentially art. As someone who owned one of these back in the mid 2000's - thank you for doing this and putting all the effort into making a video of it!
My ‘90 was stolen out of my driveway on January 19, 1999 and I’m still hurting all these years later. Thanks for sharing this amazing transformation with us. Incredible work you did here.
That was my first TAKE HOME RIDE that I given from the dealership in Ottawa, Ontario. Canada... I was a 17yr old winner, when I got behind the wheel... thanks ALOT, can't wait, but I will, to watch your MAGIC🎉😂❤
You gotta admit, this takes a lot of hardwork and commitment not to mention sacrifice and perseverance. Not a lot of people can finish restoration project! You earned my respect man!
Man I don’t even have words. Absolutely phenomenal. Hopefully the new owner cares for it as much as the love you put into it. Mine is restored but not to this level. Big props to you.
Man this brings me back to my teens. My grandmother used to have a CRX, and I didn't take it when she died because I was too busy screwing around with a Del Sol. This makes me regret not taking it when I had the chance. Great job on this one. Super clean. I'm vicariously living my rebuild dreams through you.
These were some SWEET rides. The CRX was an awesome car from Honda. My neighbor had a baby blue one. If I could get my hands on one today, she would be my everyday ride. You did an an amazing job restoring this beauty. Your skills are indescribable. This video was absolutely mesmerizing. The amount of detail you put into the restoration is incredible. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
This video really shows the countless hours you put into not only restoring the car, but filming and editing as well. So satisfying to watch. Makes me miss my CRX!
It was a total pleasure to see this JDM classic properly restored like new. You are one of the few other people I have seen on RUclips with the skills to do a full restoration like Mad4Motors does. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more JDM classics being restored.
Such a masterpiece. Loved it when I had this vehicle. Best car I ever had no issues, always great on gas felt like I would get almost 50 miles per gallon. Was just an amazing car to learn how to drive stick with. Best car a single person could have back then and even now. Wish they would kept making these.
YT reccomended actually giving me one of the best and most thoughtful restorations I’ve ever seen. Very well done my friend I know this had to of spanned probably a year and a few months worth of work, parts ordering, and other things. It’s amazing how much detail and effort you’d put into this. Thank you for sharing the journey with all of us. 💯
Incredible restoration Seth. I had an immaculate black 1991 Crx Si back in the day and it's the one car that I wish I still had. This video brought back memories of when me and my wife were still dating, and we would do road trips in the "rex". Kudos
I’m not even a Honda guy by any stretch and this restoration is just so awesome! Amazing work! It brings me back to the days of seeing these in the high school (2004) parking lot. Better days
Man with this level of detail and precision you pretty much build a new car. ^^ Looks absolute fantastic! I love that you did a true restoraiton to the original instead of going full tuning mode. Well done.
My first car was a 1983 CRX. OMG I loved that car. It was a go cart. It was black as well. You did such a great job restoring this car!! It brings back a lot of great memories. Thanks.
This is absolutely amazing!! I envy you seeing the project to the end. A lot of what you did is exactly what I have done/am going to do to my 1994 Rover 220. This video has really given me a lot of motivation to keep working on mine! I want the car to be as perfect as I can get it. Thank you for posting this!
This. is. EPIC!!! My favorite car in high school and I could never have one, but it's so cool to see it brought back to life on a video. Excellent work man!
I remember seeing this model car when I was a kid and always loved how it looked and tried to get one when I was old enough, but could never get one that was in good enough condition and couldn't put the resources into it that you did. This was so satisfying and awesome to see. Thanks for your project!!
Amazing work, what a transformation. That first drive when it was finished must've been fantastic! The editing in this video is spot on. Discovered your channel through this video, instantly subscribed.
I still miss my 91 civic si that i bought from a second owner in 93. drove across county in it in 95 and kept it till 2000. thank you for keeping them alive *stock* and not doing further damage like the fate most of these cars have met. they have been worth more stock and restored for years now.
This is absolutely incredible. I know how hard and frustrating at times this must have been but wow you did a truly incredible job. Genuinely I’m impressed and proud of a grown man I’ve never met haha.
I started watching you right before you started this project. Seeing what you have done from start to finish is truly amazing. I never thought this car would look as good as it does. Great work! I can’t wait to see future projects/builds.
Welder, Fabricator, Painter, Mechanic, Engine Specialist. This guy is amazing. Major respect to you bud for doing everything yourself.
Dont forget the dope video filming and editing !!
My jaw kept dropping as he kept doing new major work himself. Wtf? Then this video.
My car is lucky to get the manager special at the car wash 😅

Same. Red '89 Si. First car.
I miss my 91 CRX si everyday. First car I ever owned.
That's a perfect crx. They got lucky
Loved my 87 black crx si. But my older self would be scared to drive it. No airbags if I recall

Truly unreal
Thank you. It definitely wasn’t easy to start and finish this but I knew once I got to a certain point, I had to see it through.
This thing is absolutely beautiful would u ever sell it
@@gzimhaliti It’s actually already sold. New owner picks it up tomorrow.
What will you do then?

These were some SWEET rides. The CRX was an awesome car from Honda. My neighbor had a baby blue one. If I could get my hands on one today, she would be my everyday ride. You did an an amazing job restoring this beauty. Your skills are indescribable. This video was absolutely mesmerizing. The amount of detail you put into the restoration is incredible. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
Just fabulous how you made it turn into a brand new 1988 CRX! Great job! Love watching this incredible expertise that you possess!
This is honestly one of the best restoration jobs I've seen!! The finished product is beautiful man, thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Not JDM, but I agree with the sentiment.
Great job! I watched this series from start to finish. Bought my own CRX in the meantime. You are an inspiration Seth!
Good luck on your project!
Massive respect for your craftsmanship. That CRX looks better than perfect now.
Such a masterpiece. Loved it when I had this vehicle. Best car I ever had no issues, always great on gas felt like I would get almost 50 miles per gallon. Was just an amazing car to learn how to drive stick with. Best car a single person could have back then and even now. Wish they would kept making these.
You are correct this vehicle at its prime will give up to 50 miles per gallon unloaded. 🎉
This is 100% satisfying to watch. I used to dream about this car sooooooo much as a kid.
Thanks for watching and the kind words!

coulda gone to a junkyard but luckily there's people like you keeping these cars on the road! Looks fantastic!
It’s nice to see a clean or unmodified crx and the correct way of restoring a car. Love to see more vids about your crx
Well done.
I am so happy to see this restoration. Congratulations to you. A classic and icon, this car is a sure keeper. Absolutely worth it.
Probably THE best car restoration video, I have EVER seen! This man takes quality to a whole 'nother level!!! WELL DONE :)
La cantidad de esfuerzo puesto en este coche para restaurarlo es increíble🙌🏾. Excelente trabajo👍🏾, saludos desde República Dominicana 🇩🇴
My first car was a 1983 CRX. OMG I loved that car. It was a go cart. It was black as well. You did such a great job restoring this car!! It brings back a lot of great memories. Thanks.
Absolutely stunning and very thorough restoration. Honda's are just a joy to restore. Great work and love the totally stock route.
Great job man. That’s just sick. This car brings back high school memories. I’d love to see a 99 Civic Si restoration
I always liked those cars.
I was thinking the same thing watching this. I had a black 98 Civic EX. Miss that thing...
This is a piece of art, I watched this restoration four or five times and I'll probably watch it again, it's such a big satisfaction
Wow, Looks stunning! I'm really glad you did everything right with no shortcuts, especially with the painting.
Drove my 1987 CRX Si from 1987 to 1997 while putting 120,000 miles on it. Most fun car I've ever owned. Very impressive restoration you've done here!
This. is.
Love seeing this. She’s a beauty, classic car. So many kids had this at my high school, glad to see one in this condition. Incredible work bro 🔥
This was very satisfying to watch. Respect to your hard work.
Wow speechless looks amazing dude great work can’t even imagine the skill this took to complete. Love seeing cars look better than ever !
I felt the tenacity of the Kentucky man.Honda's Kentucky plant. He's the only worker there.I respect you. From a Japanese person
Amazing work, what a transformation. That first drive when it was finished must've been fantastic! The editing in this video is spot on. Discovered your channel through this video, instantly subscribed.

Es la mejor restauración que eh visto sobre un auto, y vaya auto!!! Simplemente épico
Respeto total para usted
I had forgotten how bad that car was. As always keep up the good work.
I’ll gladly move on forgetting how bad it was. Haha.
I still miss my 91 civic si that i bought from a second owner in 93. drove across county in it in 95 and kept it till 2000. thank you for keeping them alive *stock* and not doing further damage like the fate most of these cars have met. they have been worth more stock and restored for years now.
Beautiful work man. Thanks for sharing your talent with us
Чувак столько работы в одни руки, ты просто крут👍👍👍
чел нереально крут
Parabéns por ressuscitar esse Honda CRX, ficou um espetáculo.
This is absolutely incredible. I know how hard and frustrating at times this must have been but wow you did a truly incredible job. Genuinely I’m impressed and proud of a grown man I’ve never met haha.
Thank you so much!
I started watching you right before you started this project. Seeing what you have done from start to finish is truly amazing. I never thought this car would look as good as it does. Great work! I can’t wait to see future projects/builds.
