- There is something truly magical about the spring time! I find myself getting lost on all the new growth and baby leaves and tiny flowers that feels so exciting and novel after a long winter. For this painting I wanted to focus on and honor the vibrancy of nature that comes with the warmth on a new season!
In this acrylic painting tutorial, I wanted to show how to paint an impressionistic mountain sunset scene. We take it step by step through each section of the painting, including painting mountains, tree, flowers, and a relaxing field.
Learn how to paint, flex your creative muscles, or relax and destress with this calm little painting tutorial!

I loved this! I would love a bit more of a walkthrough on how to mix the various colours ❤
Absolutely!!! I’ve been thinking about posting like a color mixing workshop type video too! Do you think something like that would be helpful as well?
Yes
I just love watching you paint, it's so relaxing and satisfying. Beautiful painting! 💖
Beautiful! I love your explanations on where and why to place highlights etc. Your voice is very relaxing to listen to as you explain too. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it cliff! Thank you!
It’s really interesting seeing you approach this painting in thirds, it makes a lot of sense but I have no clue if I could do that with watercolour 😂
I’m not sure either lol! It’s really interesting how you kinda have to approach the same painting differently depending what medium you are using!
OMG Bindi looks adorable laying in that grey blanket😊i love animals and you,re painting is amazing beautifull Emily Mackey Art
Stunning Emily.
Can't believe you don't have hairdryer you can use to speed up the drying.
I kept wanting a small patch of orange/red flowers to sprout in the front - just to echo the cloud colour.
Good to see you got aerial perspective down right - don't forget that yellows are the first to dull into distance.
Great little piece and noticeable that the technique used for the initial greens, for grasses, mimicked blues on an ocean painting for waves.😊
OMG😱i love you,re uhm meaddow? 😅Whit those beautifull mountins in the backround. Emily Mackey Art. I wished i could try the artist loft acrylic paints. They looks nice and bright. Does artist loft also has oil colours? I paint now also whit oils. I love oil paint and acrylic paint. Lots of love to you, you,re dogs and to you,re wife congratulations on getting engaged 👋🏾👍🏾😁😊 hope you have a nice day and happy painting to you Emily Mackey Arts
Love watching you paint. Welcome back.
Thank you so much Shirley!
Hi Emily, I’ve watched this video multiple times now and it’s great! But I can’t help but wonder, do you have any tutorial video of that lakeside painting displayed on the lower left of your shelf? Thank you!!
Aww you’ve got a standard too! Mine and yours look so similar ❤️ they are the best companions ever
YESSS!!!! ❤️🐩I’m very much a poodle person! Is yours brown too? I don’t see a lot of brown poodles around!
@@EmilyMackeyArt she’s a “silver beige” so she was a really rich brown color all over as a puppy. She started slowly getting lighter around 1 1/2 yrs I think, now she’s mostly brownish silver, her ears and elbows are still dark brown though lol. I wanted her to stay that gorgeous brown color so bad, but knew she would fade
So pleasing & therapeutic to watch ❤
Mine turned out like absolute shit so I destroyed my canvas and threw it away. Pissed because I’m really good at painting but apparently am an idiot and can’t follow videos
