Hi Emily, if we don't have magenta , what could we use or how could we make it?
If you don't have magenta, you can totally just use whatever red is available to you. Magenta is just a pink color that helps you get some nuances in color but it is definitely not necessary if you don't have it around. Hope that helps!

Well, you can mix red and blue colour to make magenta

same...but I did a similar one before and I'd do this if I had canvas left but anyways to get to the point...it's not supposed to be easy and it will probably still turn out really good if you try

Thank you for this! I have been suffering with some over the top anxiety lately and haven't painted in what feels like 100 years. I started watching some of your other videos today which were super relaxing! I finally broke out the art supplies and painted along with this one. I got a bit carried away and added in clouds and wayyy too many lines, but I love my stripy anxiety ridden mess!

Hey Emily I'm from Huntington Beach California so I see a lot of beautiful sunsets and I just started painting a while ago more of a surfer but I got all these images in my head and I just wanted to tell you I'll probably make this long but I just wanted to tell you that you are amazing artist and an amazing the most amazing teacher that I've ever heard you describe everything so perfectly and you're such a you remind me of one of my best friends obviously she's a girl and she is just the most adorable thing on earth she's super dorky and makes fun of herself but she's smart as hell at the same time and I I see the ring on your finger and I wouldn't say anything weird anyways but I think adorable is the best word for you obviously you're beautiful but adorable is my word that I use for people that are Way Beyond any other word so cuz I'm goofy I'm great at my crafts all of them I try to be at least but the way described everything and the way you talk to yourself and just everything is the most adorable thing on earth you make watching these videos super super fun and sometimes they're gnarly it's it's an early getting into painting when you've never painted before you know so I'm more of a musician Surfer construction dude but anyways just wanted to tell you that you are incredible your adorable whoever put that ring on your finger as a lucky lucky person cuz you are just so fun you are you're so fun and everybody that knows you is probably the most blessed person on Earth just because of your personality personality makes everything so anyways much love much Aloha and keep painting girl

Thank you very much for this tutorial! I was doing amazing, until i had to draw the sun and the waves. I finished drawing the sun, but the waves went so bad, i couldnt achieve the 3D effect.
You have used which shade of blue ?
Little to add: You need to invest in good acrylic colors. The school set for 10bucks won't do it, as some might think as "beginner". You need acrylics that are half opaque and don't dry instantly, most school sets you find are fast drying (so kids can't drag the color everywhere) and mostly opaque which makes it horrible to try to blend them. Also I wish the process of blending would have been a little better explained in the video.
I'm not a beginner at all and I usually paint clouds. Oceans are touchy for me. This was incredibly helpful for technique. I painted this on something 10x the size and it turned out beautifully. I also tinted my gesso yellow, it helped everything look very cohesive.
