This is how stupid we've gotten in this woke culture. Says a word off an iPad that's not his written by a kid. Should have said it?? Maybe not. But should he resign?? Absolutely not!!
Don't like that the world has come to this, but they had to get in front of this because it would turn into "OU FOOTBALL IS RACIST!" I also think that the player who was distracted by their iPad in a meeting should be punished. Tell your teammates how many steps are in the stadium!

This is just wrong. Go read what Joe Mixon had to say about it. Coach Gundy's whole life has been Oklahoma football for it to end over something so harmless is a disgrace. I know he resigned so he wouldn't be a distraction but I'm disappointed in the University for letting this happen. They should have gotten the players together and asked their feelings on it.
This is what I surmised what happened: The kid was writing rap lyrics on his ipad instead of paying attention to the meeting. The coach saw it, took it from him, and read it aloud to everyone in the meeting to embarrass the player. Shouldn't the kid be punished also for bringing these offensive words to the meeting? 🤷
Didn't know Venables was such a Bible thumper.He makes Clark Kent look like Kanye West. I think his hiring should be rethought. I think Cale Gundy would have been just as qualified for the job and he's Sooner Born and Sooner bred unlike Mr. Clean.
Cale messed up and made a terrible mistake. But, Cale is not just any coach. He is a former player, graduate, and the longest tenured coach at OU and in the Big XII. It was appropriate for Cale to tender his resignation, but I wouldn’t have accepted it. I would have suspended him. I would have fined him. Where is the grace today? Where is the forgiveness and a road to redemption? The culture is becoming way too woke to suit me. That said, I hope Cale gets an opportunity for redemption somewhere else as an OC. His game plan and calls in the Alamo Bowl were magnificent and he has more than earned that opportunity. Look for some recruiting ramifications. Cale was a great recruiter and at the center of the process. May be risk that some recruits flip.
