I have a 2014 and 2016 E350 and E400 and I haven’t had any problems at all , just regular maintenance, battery replace , brake replacement, and that’s all.

I have owned many types from Mercedes like the classic w115 2.4, w123 300d, w116 450sel and sd, w126 sd, w124 300 td, w210 300 turbo diesel and now I also have a w211 Kompressor 2004, and a s124 220 e. All of this very reliable one exception the w210 which totally burned out in 2006 with 198000 km when it was only 8 years old! And till today I don’t know why!!
But all the others is build like a tank the w211 is also! I have use it for 16 years , now it’s has 370 t km, without any major issues! The key is the well maintenance!!! And yes The sbc was broken but it’s rebuild able for about a 500 euro , and now it’s like a new! I really love it and never sell it it’s not worth, it’s so good if I want I can go right now to London or Paris from here Budapest and it needs just some petrol to get there!! And besides that it’s looks like as if only a couple of years old would be, no rust, shiny painting, no weared out inside etc.
    So this list is incorrect!!!

I bought a new S class 350d in 2017 in 2024 with less than 30,000 miles on the clock the engine blew up and mercedes didn't want to know. Ignored my e mails local dealership wouldn't help.. car got sold for scrap and I'm 20k out of pocket... WARNING PEOPLE DON'T TRUST MERCEDES

Great cars, but so are the newer ones if you treat them well.Models like w202,210,220,for example.

@@matsujarvinen Sheet metal quality and corrosion protection on nearly all 1994-2003 era Mercs is non-existent. Good cars, but they rust so much :\ Sold very good C280 just because of rust problems. SLK230 from 2000 - very reliable little car, but the sills had to be replaced, rear arches show signs of rust again - something not quite seen on my pristine w201 from 1992, never repainted. You just feel how the metal is different on them. W204 OK (if not some breaking plastic small crap like rotary control axis, blower deflector handles etc.), I'm more or less happy with it.

@@MrSysadmin1975 It was because they changed into watercolors in 1993.Something went terribly wrong. So,it was not he factory´s choice to lower the quality. However,we can ask,why It took so long to make things right? But techically those W202-W210-W220 are sheer gold.

We have a lot W212's in taxis here in Scandinavia and many have surpassed ONE MILLION KILOMETERS. It has a reputation among taxis as one of the most reliable and robust Mercedes-Benzes. Sometimes I just wonder about these videos and their validity.

Mercedes stopped being well built in the 1980's. They went from being over-engineered to under-engineered and thought they could rely on their name.

Sure the 2001-2005 SL's had their problems. But rust was not one of them. Mainly the ABC active suspension, brakes and battery control modules. ABC being the most common source of angst. Most people don't know how to take care of them and the neglect permanently damaged the system. After 2007 SL's got better. Everyone I know who owns an SL utilizes the new transparent, magnetic ABC fluid filters which keep the system cleaner for longer. Perhaps doubling the lifespan before ABC is due for replacement. These cars are worth repairing because they're just about the most refined, luxurious top down driving experience in history. You won't find a quieter convertible top down at 100mph.

The w123 is the most reliable Mercedes ever built. They were built to last for a very long time. You still see them in use as taxi's in many third world countries. A w123 won the Paris to Dakar rally in the 70's.

Every car have their own issues and face numerous recalls.
The Mercedes E class 2003 to 2008 is a very reliable and solid vehicle with less issues.how is it on this list?
    This list is unrealistic

W210 is known for it´s reliability in my country,Finland.W211 also has good reputation. It´s just like you said, every car has their own issues.I´ve had several MBs,including the classics like W123 and W124,but they were no better or worse than the later models. It´s all about how they are kept.

I am surprised that the W211 is on this list. Makes me doubt the rest of this list.
Because I owned a W204 C200, I will say that that car is unreliable.

If you want a new one I recommend living very close to the dealership; the new ones esp 2022 and later are finicky expensive toys. I own a 2022 SL 63; terrible buggy software, check engine lights, battery problems. It was definitely a BETA product with MBUSA letting the customer do the testing on its $200,000 product... Loyal MB owners are going to ditch the brand especially given the absolutely atrocious depreciation. They've been resting on their laurels for a long time. It's time for Stuttgart to step up their game.
