Mushoku Tensei / Jobless Reincarnation
A 34-year-old man, jobless, shut-in and NEET.
On a certain day, after he got kicked out of the house, met his death in a traffic incident... or so the man thought.
The instant he thought that, suddenly he was reincarnated as "Rudeus" in a world of swords and magic. With the piled regret and experience from his previous life, he swears to live his life earnestly this time around.
Meeting with various peoples, various magic training... the now developed Rudeus is setting on a really harsh and cruel journey, such as Teleportation Incident involving his hometown, Fittoa Region, and other various tales.
After prevailing many hardships and successfully coming home, Rudeus became one with her beloved Eris. However, the very next morning, Rudeus suffered a heavy shock after realising the sudden disappearance of Eris. He had given up on everything and reverted to his shut-in and NEET self, just like the previous world. Alas, as the only lost person in his family caused by Teleportation Incident, his mother, Zenith has not been found yet. Now he is determined to find Zenith, and Rudeus is standing up on his legs once more.

PAUL GOT GOJOED ON FATHERS DAY AND DIED WITH A SMILE
No, technically Gojo was Paule'd, Mushoku Tensei was made years before JJK, so Gojo copied him
Yh ur correct, it so sad even though I read it
Paul death was definitely handled better than Gojo's since Paul suspected that there is a high chance he might die in this fight and still fought with pride and doubt. On the other hand, Gojo was literally dominating in his fight against Sukuna, even with the Dimensional Slash so it was suspected that he would win but not only did he not win, but his actual death was shown off-screen and was dirtier than even Jogo's death.
@@veriousshifter2930 That's why he lost, he was too prideful, Sukuna took advantage of that and made himself look like he was losing but in fact he was just holding back. And at the very moment Gojo was off guard, he got 1/2
@@novalozano7520 But like I said, Gojo was still putting up a good fight and was left Sukuna injured severly to point that his cursed energy was running thin. So, although it was likely that he would've lost and died after Mahoraga adapted and countered his Infinity, the way that Gege, the author of JJK portrayed his death in the manga was downright devious. He made it as if Sukuna didn't struggle much against Gojo, despite him nearly dying twice throughout their fight and had the audacity to not show how and when Gojo died.
Happy father's day paul did what any dad would have done protect their kid
His last thought when he saw Rudeus was probably relief that he'd managed to save him.
There is actually a video where you can hear his thoughts and yes he was happy to see his son alive
@@halu1140 Have you got a link for that? I would love to see it
The really delayed and episode so that they can release a very special gift for fathers day💀💀
Paul dies doing what any father would do for his son.
Fr💀
They never delayed it though? It has always released on Sundays.
@@batigolmc5733 yo they delayed it one week like 2 or 3 episodes ago
Will we get next episode?
Paul is such an amazing character. He is very flawed that even he knows that. He tries to change but every step of progress, something pulls him 10 steps back. But even so, he kept on trying and trying no matter how many times he falls into drinking and depression, he still kept on and people around gave him support. Almost 10 years since their family is separated. And now, just one more step is all it needs and they're complete. They can go home now, his wives are back, his family is reunited, and he will also see his grandchild. But in that one moment, he did what pretty much every father would.
Argueablely, he did what many fathers wouldn't even do nowadays both in real life and fiction. He stood up for not only himself but for others, even in his lowest state of mind and fought against the Hydra head-on, knowing full well that he is gonna put everything he has left on the line to save his wife and provide a happy ending for his wives, children and everybody else.
he isn't flawed, he's already decent and fair, he just was continuously insecure that his family may view some of his aspects as flaw, when they don't
@@bestmind-tm2me I think he's flawed in the way he acts in very tense situations which involve personal matters, where he would immediately sprint towards the goal, while not not giving a second thought about the consequences. Sure, he's definitely matured but as all people do, he is flawed.
@@veriousshifter2930 correct, you think, not his family, the flaws you mentioned might be seen as good points by them
@@veriousshifter2930 He acts pretty normal for a husband in that situation. It's Rudeus who he finds acts weird lol. Rudeus doesn't really look at his parents as mom and dad. They're simply the two people who raised him for a few years. You can tell by how he almost had a panic attack when finding out Roxy was in trouble. However, his reaction to his mom being in trouble is nowhere near intense. He reflects later that he never really saw them as parents. More like friends.
there is a small but noticeable difference with this adaptation of pauls death in the LN he smiled when pushing rudues out of the way and was instantly killed before the beat the hydra, while in this adaptation paul actually got to see the hydra's demise and rudy safe before he smiled and passed away.
even though it removes a little bit of the tragedy of not even being able to see the goal you worked so hard for with your own eyes its more bittersweet since even though he passed away at least he saw his goal realized and protected his son like a father would till the very end
no, paul smile because rudy is safe and he coul protect him, but you can see in his eyes that hes dead before zenith is free. This is sad an depressing, paul could save his wife but he died whitout knowing it
@@rodrigodiegocallarodriguez mb edited it though with the hydra dead he would probably know his wife would be saved instead with the LN he does not even see the end of the fight
he lived long enough to see that rudeus is alive.
"A, why?"
The moment I say that, Paul's eyes begin to stir.
Paul’s eyes meet my own.
"…"
Paul says nothing.
But he moves his mouth a little, expressing relief.
Having felt relieved, he exhales.
There is just a feeble vomiting of blood.
And his eyes lose their light.
@@ichigo2102 yeah mb I was thinking of rushes recalling the events was corrected by someone in Crunchyroll
he is still a horrible human being
The silent moment in this scene make this more sadness.
It really do make this more sadness 😢
I only cried when they got back to their Inn.
This death was so very unexpected for me
fr
Yea goosebumps bruh
Rudy got screwed, his father died, his mother lost her memory and he was left without his hand, sad
if you read the ln she didn’t lose her memory but I will not say anything else regarding her you’ll just have to wait to read the ln
Where can I read it on the internet, bro?@@patthomes8811
@@patthomes8811 yeah, she didn't just lose her memory, but also the ability to speak, making her braindead, i fear she will not come back and will only act to remember to lessen the pain her family has
God literally telling this man as much would happen is the craziest fucking part
@@bestmind-tm2me yeah I thought so cause she was talking funny so yeah it was clear she lost the ability to speak
“If you go you will regret it”
There are so many things to think about this phrase, if Rudy had not gone, Paul and group would have spent probably years trying to go through the dungeon; Roxy would have died. Had Rudy gotten stronger but the question is, how do you prepare for something you have no knowledge knowing was going to happen…
But in the end it truly shows Paul’s character, besides having so many flaws and accepting them, he cared for his family so much he would put his life in the line to save any one of them… This is Paul’s character, a real man, family man, a father to look up to, a father that spent years looking tirelessly looking for HIS FAMILY…
Happy Father’s Day…
I read somewhere that Roxy won't die, idk if that's true
@@phantom7958 No she will and it is the reason why rudeus was told to not go.
Rudeus was told not to go because Hitogami (man god) is actually a fraud, and Rudeus's future child would be his downfall
@@batigolmc5733 damn… spoilers that make sense
@@batigolmc5733spoilers wtf
The Studio took that one week off just so they could air this episode on Father's Day.
Fr dude💀
New Arc's coming, they said😅😭
Thats Gege levels of fucked up lmao
So some extra context
Because Paul was a master swordsman, he pushed with his hips and learned to kick without recoil. Since Rudeus was no longer a child, Paul had to put his entire weight into kicking his son to save his life and as a result he had no time to retreat, rebound or say, kick and fly forwards with Rudeus
For Rudeus, the reason he stood frozen was because he was watching everything with his magic eye and couldnt understand the hydra's movement. So for Rudy, he basically ends up with a ton of guilt as Paul's death was entirely Rudy fault for stopping.
Paul saved his son at the expense of his own life, not only was Rudy his son but Rudy himself was about to be a dad with a child and wife waiting for him at home, so Paul sacrificed himself to save Rudy as a parent should and to ensure that his grandkid still had a dad
I thought he was frozen from fear but this makes sense… damn
@@Reuz1721 someone correct me if i am wrong... but from Rudeus point of view the Hydra was basically dead, yes it was lashing out but what he didnt understand was the desperation move which was the hydra using its headless stump as a whip. Rudeus was basically stunned trying to process its moves. Papa realised what the Hydra was doing and therefore came to Rudeus rescue because from Rudeus point of view by the time he realised what it was doing it was too late to dodge
@@Reuz1721 yups the hydra was going out of script so rudeus was confused when he was using his demon eye and at that moment the last and the main head of the hydra went for rudeus then rudeus saw his death at that moment but he does not have the ability to run or dodge to him lacking touki or battle aura
Paul could've tackled Rudeus and save himself along with Rudeus
@Barlez. I legit explained why it didn't work in the first comment, but it was quite clear why Paul didn't just go flying with Rudeus
Roxy : "finally, my time to shine, thankyou paul'
True but too dark bro
I mean, based on how Rudy rejected Hitogami's orders to stay in Ranoa and search for his mother, it was either gonna be Paul, Zenith or Roxy who was gonna be sacrificed as a result.
@@veriousshifter2930if rudy didnt come, do that mean all of 3 will die?
@@mccraftingtablelmao6204 Possibly, I mean if Rudy and Elinalise didn't travel all the way from Ranoa to Begaritt through the use of hidden teleportation circles, Roxy would've already been dead since her mana was running dry and the monsters of the Teleportation Labyrinth would already swarmed her helpless body, leaving no trace. As for Paul, he probably wouldn't have been able to reach to the 6th floor where the Hydra resides, let alone the other floors without risking to teleport throughout the dungeon aimlessly, leading to him and the rest to getting separated and being picked apart by the highly intelligent monsters who able to cooperate togther and already know the layout of the labyrinth. Lastly, Zenith is an outliar here since we don't know what force of nature was keeping her alive inside the crystal or how she even ended up there in the first place, but if she was literally left disabled after more than 5 years, its possible she would've met a slow and agonising death by body denutrition or lack of mana.
@@mccraftingtablelmao6204 no, hitogami's schemes is targeted to roxy. If rudeus didnt come there is a chance Paul would survive but roxy may not
"You're my SPECIAL" 🎤🎼🎹🎶
Technically Gojo was Paule'd, Mushoku Tensei was made years before JJK, so Gojo copied him
@@dren6635Its just that Gojo's death was done 'Infinitely' worse than Paul's death.
@@veriousshifter2930 Personally and honestly, Paul's death was much more emotional and significant
@@dren6635 Yup, especially since unlike Gojo, who was considered to be strongest at the time, Paul was made to be likeable but flawed. He wasn't as strong or as capable as his son, Rudeus and yet, he still persisted his agonising search for his lost children and family. Even going as far as to seek help from his old adventure party, showing us his capacity for humility and determination.
@@dren6635 yes Paul's death make my whole body shaking and Gojo's death didn't give that much impact

That but also that Rudy was going to be a father too.
I think this again, really demonstrates Rudeus’s lack of experience in a real battle despite his talent and powers. Like the time he got one of the Young Demon Adventurers killed and Ruijerd berated him for it.
When Ruijerd questioned why Rudeus stopped him from saving the adventurers. I don’t think Rudeus understood where he was wrong. While it was definitely wrong to seek a benefits out of a crisis, where he was wrong was that he thought he could ‘save them just in the nick of time’. and that’s where he’s wrong, there is no *nick of time*. Rudeus has fought thugs bandits before, but he lacks the instincts that only awakens in a life and death situation. He should’ve said: “I didn’t know everything would’ve happened so fast.” and Ruijerd would’ve understood then and there that the kid he’s speaking to isn’t a warrior with experience. He is just a smart, practical kid who is using his mind but has yet to experience reality.
He doesn’t understand back then how fast someone can die, a split second of hesitation can become the difference between life or death. Before he even realized it, one of the adventurers got killed because he was biding his time.
Here it shows again during this fight, the battle is yet to be over, yet Rudeus’s guards drops. He sees the finish line and becomes complacent for a moment, Paul ends up having to save him not once but twice, once while he was distracted (“You fool!”). And the next time, after he gets up, he stands and glances around at everyone else and doesn’t assume the threat is still on him, thus, Paul has to save him, again, this time, with consequences.
I don’t blame him, it’s masterful storytelling, there is an origin to his carelessness on the battlefield and it’s a trait that if he doesn’t acknowledge, it won’t go away.
It went kinda differently in the LN though; he was fully focused on the Hydra but when it down to its last head it suddenly started thrashing around with all its heads to the point Rudeus couldn't react to it at all, not even with his eye
the anime didnt explain it but Rudy didn't space out at the end, he was tryna see what the hydra was gonna do since he couldn't read it's movements in the second he had and needed saving
@@electroshock6383yeah but that’s a lack of experience, he stopped to get a reading on the hydra when in melee range. We saw paul and all, they were CONSTANTLY moving. You never stop moving when at that range. He knew he had to be up and close and not at a distances like he usually does. Rudy fucked up and it was cause of experience.
@@xxargonautxx9790 they're all swordsmen (besides Roxy but she was effectively their healer), they should all be constantly moving. Outside of point blanking the hydra Rudy wasn't moving all that much either. Wasn't a matter of experience although yeah he does lack some, was just that his brain couldn't humanly comprehend everything that he needed to in 1 second
I’m just hurt. Paul really did his best. He was crazy strong and loved his family so much. You became an awesome dad. Happy Father’s Day

When u can slightly see the future but u don't have the speed to back it up.
funny thing is ...rudy doesn't have battle aura , it is what gives swordsmen of the world super speed , super strength, durability and quick reflexes . even though he has the biggest mana pool in history , no matter how much he train his body , he would never be a match for non magic fighters of the world in hand to hand combat . if he had a decent battle aura he would solo probably almost any fighter in the world with ease
@@Jadenforeverything Even with touki Rudeus wouldn't be a match for people of the third rank and up in the seven great world powers. Both his magic armors pretty much solve the issue of no touki and they still are no match for even the Fighting God.
Rudeus just isn't a close range fighter and couldn't react fast enough to dodge the headless hydras attack
Even tho I got spoiled with Pauls death I still got shocked by his death
Yh same, with context it's such a tragedy.
Hydra: Stand proud you are strong
The whole team have to fight an enemy they never encounter before with only 1 of them can really deal damage to it. Not only that it have high intelligent and regenaration, being able to know to chew off the burned wound to start healing. Have anti magic scale that nullifile magic from afar distance and can only be hurt went they to close (magic users have to stay away from combat cuz "chaining magic" need time and focus) which make them extremely vulnerable. And they somehow manage to beat it in less than 10m and lost 1 person due to losing focus. This is peak teamwork.
And finally R.I.P Paul

The famous quote "hesitation leads to disaster"
Tbf, the Hydra they fought was not only special S-class monster, it was also very intelligent to the point that it figured out by itself how to regain back its heads before they were all cauterized and went straight for Rudy while ignoring every other party member, including Paul to kill him. So, realistically any dungeon party member, no matter how skilled or experienced, would be terrified by this monster's awarness and intelligence

No anime bullshit of 30 second scene of everyone yelling paul’s name in slow motion as he was crushed by the hydra. Instead, it was real time, intense fighting, then after all the dust has settled, would then realize the battlefield’s casualties.
And he is like REALLY dead. No spell can fix "cut in half."
Paul was a great father 👨 👨🍼 🙏 😢 ❤️ 👏 🥲 💙
Damn it, I knew something was up with all the death flags being setup across the episodes. Even all the way from Hitogami's conversation with Rudeus before venturing to meet with Paul.
Despite knowing what will happen. I still haven't able to stop my tears from shedding. It's so heartbreaking. Goodbye, Paul.
Paul's death messed me up so bad. The episode was 11/10 but omg I couldn't handle his death. He was such a good character, one of the most badass fathers in all of anime. I loved how he believes so much in his son and the amount of pride has in him, Rudues in his eyes was a perfect son, one that he didn't even spent that much raising with Zenith. He died a fitting death honestly, saving his son, though I wished his last words to him wasn't just to save his mother no matter what. I wish he could've left more than that. 💔
