Love the tour! They came to the WI fall orchid show in September and I got a cute Masd. Ventricosa. They were very helpful in making my selection based on my growing conditions. So far so good!

Thanks for the tour Bryan! I have never ordered anything from J & L but I'm looking at their website. I am really getting into mounted orchids as they are easier to care for to me anyway. I have tried growing Dracula and Masdevallia over the years indoors with no real success. They always die on me within the year of purchase. I think it is because of low humidity in my house. Why I love miniature orchids is you can have a large collection that takes up very little space.
I would try Masdevallia discoida or Masdevallia Copper Wing! I must admit, I struggle with masdevallias too, but these have been more forgiving and warmth/humidity tolerant! I love miniatures too! I’m trying to build a collection of really special minis too!
@@OrchidsByBryan Thanks Bryan. I might give that a try. I order a lot of my orchids from Orchids by Hausermann in Villa Park, IL since I'm in Kentucky. They have a great selection.

24:45 Last time I went was in September and that's when I decided to go back and get two Psychopsis Mendenhalls. They're starting to make new roots so I've been thinking about repotting them together.
I've been trying to visit J&L during every season just to see what's available.
11:58 Dracula orchids for Halloween! 🧛♂️😨 Not sure why I skipped this section last time I was there. It's always nice to check out the flowers even though they're an orchid that needs really high humidity.
20:19 I probably would have bought this one. I bought a lot of different orchids form J&L this year, but only one was in bloom, the miltoniopsis that I got at the orchid show.
23:00 I got the Hibiki in June, repotted it, and it's been in bloom since early September.
Yes! They have a great variety in the fall!! I love visiting them as much as I can too! I bought some very cool flowers that I’m excited to highlight in my next what’s in bloom! I’d love to try to grow and bloom Dracula orchids but they’ve been tricky for me! I just couldn’t keep it moist enough! :( I love psychopsis orchids too! That’s another plant I’d love to add to the collection one day!
