@@nightowl6055 Even that is a little slow if you know what your doing. There is always a “break” between salvos in FTL. Frequent pausing can also slow a battle’s pace.
@@josephpentony4804 Maybe when you pause the game the music could switch to a more calm music? Or when the flagship jumps away, it could continue once youre back in the fight?
Agreed, this does not fit into gameplay, but it is still a good listen nonetheless

Although I wouldn't say it'd fit with FTL, this a great song! I like the use of in-game sound effects.
thanks! The in game sfx were fun to work with. I especially enjoyed the sound of the ship destructing. It's both the sound of joyous victory and crushing failure in FTL.

If there was an FTL anime or movie, i could see this playing as say, the ship has taken what would effectively be its last hit in The Last Stand. The ship's pilot pulls himself to his feet after an explosion rocks their tough little ship and alert sirens are shrieking for any remaining crew to evacuate. It's breaking up and the power core is on the verge of overloading but is still feeding what's left of the ship electricity for the moment. Half the crew is dead or dying, systems are giving out one after another, and one of the main thrusters are gone. Using the remaining main thruster and the weaker maneuvering thrusters and piloting with one functioning arm and blood running down his/her/it's face, the ship's pilot intends to ram their dying craft into their enemy. One final act of defiance before the end. Barely dodging missiles, the flickering shield system catching one last laser barrage before burning out, The Kestral spirals slowly as its stabilizer breaks off from the ship and is left behind.
The crew of The Flagship panics as the oversized missile careens towards them, slamming into the cockpit and crushing their control system and leaving their ship to be propelled with no steering out past the safety of their own fleet and straight into the heart of the Federation fleet's field of fire where it gets turned into metallic Swiss cheese, destroying it and securing victory for The Federation.
Cue credits and the 'thanks to the sacrifice of' memorial.
Used an MP3 converter and replaced the Last Stand music file with this, it fits nicely. Awesome work! and even better music!

If you were fighting the flagship and 4 or 5 of your crew died mere seconds apart and this music kicked in that would pretty epic. You'd know at that point it's win or die.

liking this one for the Sonic references. honestly though i was attempting to do something in the style of electronic rock/industrial similar to The Luna Sequence and others. I'll take the comparisons to the very awesome Sonic Generations!

Thanks! I really appreciate that most recognize this as a rearrangement and not as a direct cover of the original tune with different instrumentation. It's a risk to rework a piece of VGMusic people are already fond of but also a challenge I enjoy. I'm working right now on an album of similarly themed stuff and I hope to get it finished...eventually.
Having played the game, hearing this for the first time was a little overwhelming and a bit odd. But all in all its not bad!

This would be very fitting music if you couldn't pause time and had to do everything as fast as possible.
Great idea for a hard-core mode in FTL2 which I'm still surprised has not been made.
I'll admit sometimes I play that way but those games don't last long and are a bit rough on the ol' cortisol.
3:42 seems like a really fitting piece for a mod like FTL: Incursion, shame it got cancelled tho :p
