      I tries some Mighty Gripper (Black) on the rear and locking the front diff. Those tires are still pretty drifty. 😆

    I’ve had a 2.0 since they first came out and just bought and have modified the coupe some recently. Ended up getting a clear body and going fenderless with it then getting the Supra’s tires for it. The coupe looks pretty bad ass with the fenders chopped off and Supra rolling stock and handles the older 2 Pole, non waterproof VXL system than the 2.0 does.
    I did pick up the aluminum versions of the 1/16 GTR shocks to put on the Hot Rod to see how those work out, already had a set of the short Big Bore shocks off a Nitro 4-Tec I had.

      I really like the setup you described. Did you use any tire prep on the Supra tires?

    • @GreenJeep1998
      @GreenJeep1998 Год назад +1

      @@telecomandorc So far, no prep on the Supra tires and they feel way grippier and by the time I was done running it the first time, they had some heat in them and tacked up. I haven’t had a chance to run it again, between it running warm due to the diffs being a bit tight, work, and crap weather, though I put the shims and steering bellcrank bearings in after dinner last night. It rolled and steers more smoothly now and should run better line my 2.0 does. I did try the 1/16 E-Revo shocks, but they’re too long to work right, so O out the stockers back on for now and plan on selling these to the friend that I bought the Hot Rod with since he has one of the little Revos too.
      If you or any other viewers want to try the shims and bearings, I used Kyosho 96647 shims and put 2 of the .2mm shims between the diff cups and bearings, which is basically a simple and straightforward job. The bearings are 5x8x2.5 (Traxxas pn 5114) for the top and 6x10 (PN 5105) for the bottom and I just swapped those out while I had the front in apart for the shims.
      Give me a few and I can post the video from that first run with the Supra tires and fenderless body, which also has an unboxed and straight out of the bag TQi w/TSM Rx in it.

      @@GreenJeep1998 That car looks awesome fender-less. Wait, have you considered TC shocks or the ones off of the 2.0?

      I watched that video a few days ago, but wanted to stick with the 1/16 style shocks on it for appearance sake. May have to search around some more and see what else is out there that might work at this size.

    Does this type of car fit racing on track? Isn't it way too heavy? It is a tank

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  27 дней назад +1

      The 4-Tec 2.0 does but it is a bit too heavy to be competitive in most race classes. It is even to heavy for VTA.
