    I'm not necessarily loyal to one grading company over another but I will get my books graded/slabbed by the company with the higher resale dollar amount.
    And that is CGC at this point in time.

    I just think that we as a whole community need to stop with the CGC snobbery. Other companies do exceptional work with grading and slabbing, but the final products don't fetch the same money as a CGC slab. I'm not against there being a little more oversight in grading rules, if it means that an EGS graded book will demand the same amount as one from CGC.

    Hey Chris welcome back- quick question-if I was to remove tape would that give me a conserved or restored label?

    • @JernosComicsPopCulture
      @JernosComicsPopCulture  3 месяца назад

      It should only be seen as a defect/damage since the tape was not part of the original manufacturing, therefore there is not attempted to restore or conserve by removing it. Even if tape is on the comic still, it is only seen as a defect still.

      Wow awesome answer thank you. I'm hoping to remove the tape right after I take the comic out of the press. The adhesive should be soft enough for me to remove - it's been there for decades. This is however theoretical....
      I've never heard of tape removal being executed through a pressing before, wish me luck!

    Hey Jerno - Welcome back! I completely agree that CGC is tarnishing the hobby. Since the Acetate Gate incident, I've refrained from slabbing any comics with CGC. Their handling of that situation has only compounded the ongoing problems with CGC slabbing. If I decide to slab a comic in the future, it will definitely be with CBCS.
