ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Asparagus fern propagation | how to propagate asparagus fern
In this video I share with you a method for asparagus fern propagation. If you are asking yourself how to propagate asparagus fern, I hope this video helps you :) ! There may be many asparagus fern propagation methods, but I found this one super easy and my asparagus ferns seem to be happy :). Dividing asparagus fern is very easy and it helps us create 2 plants from 1 :), so you can share with friends and family right away !
Asparagus Fern are hands down my favorite plant. Idk why I just love how wispy and full they get lol Francesca es perfecta ❤
Can we call her Ferncesca? Ha ha...I just go two little asparagus ferns and I love them!!! Thanks for this!
Great video! My Asparagus fern is taking a long time to grow, maybe it's because it doesn't get enough natural light? I can't wait to propagate, it's a beautiful plant!
Hi! In my experience bright light does help it grow :-) How much light does yours get?
Gracias me encantó.. súper fácil el mejor video k vi sobre esta hermosa planta
Ah! Que bueno que te gustó ! Me dices si tienes alguna duda , aquí estoy para ayudar 😊💚

Hello! I just found your channel and I love it! :) I have an asparagus fern on a shelf in my room, it gets lots of light and grows very quickly. 1cm per 2 days is its normal growth, I think they need lots of light but not direct.
Wow din know its so easy. Tks Lucia
going to do this tomorrow. Wish me luck !
This video worked mine accurately work

That was very interesting, thanks!
Thanks, very good information!
Thank you! So happy you found it useful :)
Hi Lucia, glad I stumbled on your video about Asparagus Fern. 👍🏻
One question please... Apart from the poisonous leaves and berries, is it safe to keep Asparagus Fern and JADE plant indoors, especially in the bedroom?
It is safe :) as long as it is not eaten by a pet or something like this !
I was gifted 2 full grown gorgeous asparagus ferns a couple months ago but I have no experience with this plant! I wanted to decorate my front door with them but is it too cold outside in January? What temp do they need to thrive? Im in sw Oklahoma, I am a beginner also!
Good Job Lucia!
What a Beautiful Plant! Great Video L. 🌺😍
It is really beautiful and it grows very fast haha! Sending lots of positive energy to you my friend 🥰
Hi, why do you tend to place them on the side, not in the center of the pot?
My Asaragus Fern is planted in the ground, do I do the same ting for propagation of my plant? I would really like to make a few more?
sooo wonderful plant! thank you for video:D i do really like your intro haha ^ ^)/
Hii! Thank you so much for your comment ☺️♥️ welcome to the community 🥰🌿
Hi Good Afternoon..!
Useful video, I wants to know can we keep this plant by cutting. For example I bought a stem of this plant can I grow it by soil
Hi! That's a great question.. does the stem have roots?
@@PlantsandLucia No pa. So only I'm asking
Great video I have had 5 of them sense Feb of this year and they are all growing i definatly need to be in the plant for usual mataince every month or so to take out the old brown vegetation leaving room for air light & new growth. I have four on hanging planters outside on my patio & one indoors on my kitchen window sile next to a couple other species of plants.🌵🌱🌿
That is so cool! So many Asparagus ferns :)
Subscribed I like the video. Well done
Can we make to 4, 1 plant to 4
My fern is over 70 years old and has thorns on the stems and has outgrown my house will I be able to put my plant outdoors I live in the uk
May I recommend never putting this in the ground outside.
Someone planted this over 20 years ago in my yard and I have been fighting it spreading for years, it is so invasive. I have scars from detangling it from my bushes and trees.
Such a shame this beautiful thing is so vicious!
Given the thorns, are you sure it's not eating asparagus? i have both plants and only the eating asparagus has thorns as it grows out.
Hi. I have this plant planted in the soil. It is deeply embedded. How could I propogate the same using the division method
Hi cool Lucy. Twice failed to reproduce.so took your help.
Thank You...your tutorial is very clear and easy to follow...
Is there a reason why you planted them on the side in the new pots, and not in the middle?
Hi! That's a good question and great observation 😊! there's no reason haha.. it just felt more confotable for the roots there.. but you can see what feels better for you :)
Is this plant only for indoor?could we just take the some portion of the plant with its roots from the mother plant and not dividing the whole plant?
You can grow it from berries also.
Hi Lucia! How are these sweet babies doing??
Hi! Thankfully, they are doing really well! I show them in the plant tour video 😊 You can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/v8CGqfwLn64/видео.html
Hope you like it !
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can u propagate thru cuttings
Firs comment. Keep going 💪
YES!! thank you 🤩🤩
I love them so much I can not find them where do you live?
I love them too!! I live in Berlin :-) have you found them yet?
@@PlantsandLucia No in Australia,I am desperately for to have this plant . May be you could send me one I could pay for the cost . I have tried everywhere no one sells them
I accidentally cut into one of the main roots while cutting throught the middle will this cause the plant to die?
Hi! It may hurt her a little but most likely it will get strong again 💚 if you have a picture, you can send it to me on IG and we can see ! But don’t give up on her, plants can be very resilient 💪
@@PlantsandLucia okay thank you
This was awsome and helpful. . .I just bought one and its too big for my room so I am considering diving them. . Is it possible to make a new plant from a clipping????
Hi! I haven’t tried to do it from a clipping! I’ve read division is better with the asparagus fern, but will try to see if it is possible to do it from
A cutting and let you guys know :)
Is there a reason why you put them so close to the side of the pot instead of in the center?
Great observation! In this case, no... It was just the way the roots went and felt comfortable... But you can place it, however you feel it will be happier ☺️♥️🌿
Did you put water after repotting or propagating?
Hi! great question :-) Yes, I do water after repotting and propagating. This is to make sure that there are no air bubbles in the soil :-)
Can we propagate this plant without the roots plz reply
Hi! I haven't tried propagating the asparagus fern from cuttings.. but will do my research and see if it is possible :)
Is this possible to grow when you cut the root?
that's a great question. We want to keep the roots intact as much as possible. So when we are cutting we can try to make sure not to cut so much. However, if we cut the root a little bit (again, try to prevent this) she should be able to come back up 😊
@@PlantsandLucia thank you soo much for the reply ♥️
My leaves on my asparagus fern are all turning brown 😢😢
Oh no! Do you have Instagram? Maybe we can figure the problem out together
Mam can I propagate this from a cutting plz
Hello ☺️🌿! Hmm I have never tried to propagate from cutting... But according to my propagation table, this plant can be propagated by division only..
However, it may be possible, but not recommended, as the success rate of the plant shooting roots may not be so high..!
@@PlantsandLucia i cut my over grown asparagus fern since it is becoming a jungle in my front yard. I saved the hard cuttings and soaked them in growth hormones. Not sure of its outcome (I am looking for some videos that shows propagating from cuttings, but saw none as of yet). Will give an update after two months perhaps.
You did divide them but not propagate them🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁
Division is a method to propagate some plants 😊 for the asparagus fern it is the best method in my experience 💚 but if you try another method let me know how it goes for sure !
I wanted to watch but the annoying popup noises every 7 seconds made me bail
By your pronunciation, it seems you are italian. Isn't it?
Close :) I am a Spanish speaker from Mexico
