    I have an Asparagus fern that is over 80 years old. It belonged to my Grandmother and I am 79 years old. Can I claim a record? UPDATE. Although not looking it’s best still alive. Now 81. 2.10.24.

      I live in Germany. You can find them easily in Europe

    • @mak7587
      @mak7587 Год назад +1

      They don’t sell them in Australia because they consider it a toxic weed that can overtake your garden, so, just ask friends or family if they have it growing in their back yard, Maybe you can put a message out on Facebook, I’m sure someone will contact you, but if not just keep asking until you hit the jackpot. What state in Australia are from?

    Do you water the soil until overflow or just wet the surface? Roughly how often?

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  Год назад +1

      I water it so much that the water goes out of the drainage holes. The soil stays slightly moist, but not soggy wet. In winter, it can be once a week, in summer every day. It really depends in which conditions your plant is growing. There is no schedule.

    Hello, I have a question, can I use growlight (like artificial led lights special for plants) directly on it ? Or better not ?

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  Год назад +1

      Yes, you can, but keeping the right distance is very important. If the light is too close, the leaves can be burnt. These plants don't need bright light anyway. They grow well in semi-shade. Unless it's very dark and you feel that it's growing leggy or losing the leaves, maybe it's worth trying the growlight

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  2 года назад

      It is closed, but I open it sometimes to air it out. Especially in the beginning, I check the condensation on the glass. If it's too much, I leave the cover open for a couple of hours, until it comes to a balance, where it's not too wet and not too dry, and there is this natural cycle, where the condensation gets back into the soil and there is no need to water it

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  3 года назад

    Is it ok keep it inside the room with air conditioner on ?

    • @AnnasViolets

      Hi Benny, good questions. :) The sunlight in the morning is usually not strong, so it will be absolutely fine. Depending on your area, the light in the afternoon can be very bright. You need to feel it and move the plant, if needed.
      As for the night light, I don't use any special light.
      And they don't like cold currents of air, so I think air-conditioner can be harmful. ☘️ Hope these tips help
