    I did a project on ferns and I was amazed how many varieties there are. I was told I was silly and nobody would want them at the nursery I was at but every one I did went before they were ready. I was going to keep them for making more but they sold them quick lol. showed them hehe

    Learned a lot about the fascinating way ferns reproduce at school last week. Gives a really cool insight into the evolution of plant reproduction, and a very nice plant of course. Thanks for the video

      Hi Paige Turner, I really should pay more attention to my appearance! I don’t know where any of my clothes come from, I certainly haven’t bought any for years, they just seem to appear from nowhere and then disappeared for sometimes months on end before reappearing again! I should work on getting a bit of vanity in my being. I think the t-shirt was from my sister, not sure, it’s her humour and I do struggle with social occasions!Since it’s now clear that wearing clothes (and shoes) until they are literally held together with hope and string is the best thing for the planet so, I’m doing my bit, with the help of the clothes and shoes fairies, well that’s my excuse 🙄

      @@stinkyditchnursery750 we were on hols recently and my hubbie’s shoes gave up. He had to get another pair and then stood in the middle of the town by the bin. I thought he was saying farewell to his trusty shoes but I should have know better… he was actually taking the laces out of them before they went to RIP. Apparently there was nothing wrong with the laces 🤣

    How is it that they grow lusciously in the wild, but they need a sterile container if one tries to grow them? 😢

    • @CHICKENFUCKER-zj9ux
      @CHICKENFUCKER-zj9ux 7 месяцев назад

      It’s because they rely on numbers and is very very high so only a few succeed

    • @pegjames188
      @pegjames188 Месяц назад

      In a container a high chance of mould develops, in wild ventilation plus saves mixture of unwanted plant life development.

    How are your ferns doing mate? Im propagating 4 spiecies i collected in Gouda back in August. And i wonder if i can transfer some of them to a small pot already. Looking foreward to your next vid cause i can't find that many videos on that step in the propagation procces.

    • @stinkyditchnursery750
      @stinkyditchnursery750  Год назад +1

      Hi Tea_and_thyme_2012, so sorry for the late reply. If they are in a sealed container they should stay damp for ages but probably best to check every few weeks. If the compost does start to dry then give in a drenching with a mister. I hope this helps Robbie

  • @thebirdsnextdoor

    must it be compost, or can it be soil?

    • @stinkyditchnursery750
      @stinkyditchnursery750  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Zoe, soil is fine so long as it’s not water logged and contains lots of organic matter like leaf mould or garden compost. I hope this helps, Robbie 🌻
