  • How to Get the Two Rarest Decoctions ✅ Complete Quest Walkthroughs ✅
    In this video, ill be showing you how to get the two rarest decoctions in the Witcher 3, out of the 28 that are available. What makes them the rarest is that there’s only a single chance in the entire game to get their associated Monster Mutagens, before they’re gone for good.
    You’d have to re-load a previous save before the associated Contracts, or try again in a new game or NG+ for another chance. In addition, if you spare the related monsters instead of killing them, which most players end up doing out of sympathy, then the chance will be lost.
    Ill be covering everything you need to know about how to acquire these two rare Decoctions as well as walk you through their associated side-quest Contracts from start to finish.

    Hey man I have an idea for you / a requested video, although it would take some expert knowledge to produce. Some kind of quest / world guide, featuring an explanation of the various triggers that change the state of the world and the points of no return in the main story quest. For example, the way Novigrad changes its ambient dialogue / NPC environment as the crackdown on magic escalates. I'm not sure if there are more world state changes in Velen / Novigrad, but mayber there'd be enough to warrant a look at Kaer Trolde throughout its Jarl crowning / post crowning events.
    P.S. Maybe for another video could be a breakdown of all of Geralt's personal friends and their own quest chains, what triggers them to fail if you progress past a point. I find that the personal quests are much more elaborate and entertaining even though they are situated in the same category as your basic track 'n' smack 10 minute sidequest.
    The one type of W3 guide video that is lacking is the ones based around quests and world states and orders to do things if you want to see as much as possible in one playthrough. You make the highest quality guides on W3 in the RUclips scene so if anyone could do it well it would be you!

      Ive taken note of your suggestions and added them to my lists.

      Im always struggling for content ideas so i really appreciate your input.

    • @alexmaslov1659
      @alexmaslov1659 3 года назад +2

      @@GamerGrade You mean there are 3 chances to get an ancient leshen mutagen? As I recall there are only 2 chances: the witcher contract in Skellige where you have to choose either to kill the ancient leshen or to spare it, and another high level ancient leshen in the Hearts of Stone expansion. Did I miss anything?

    • @GamerGrade
      @GamerGrade  3 года назад +1

      No i mean the Doppler and Succubus mutagens are only available in specific Contracts where the monsters are not really 'bad' and therefore most players will spare them and likely miss the mutagens for good. The Ancient Leshen you cant 'spare' when you encounter it, so it needs to be killed at some point. For this reason, its the 3rd most rare, rather then there being 3 Ancient Leshens :) 👍

    Can any1 tell me a decoction or any way which helps stamina regeneration while in combat?

    • @GamerGrade
      @GamerGrade  2 года назад

      Yes there’s 3 major ways.
      Install any medium weight armor pieces all round (preferably Griffin School gear for the additional Sign Intensity bonus) and use the Griffin School Techniques general skill. This will increase Stamina regen by 25% passively.
      The Superior Tawny Owl Potion will increase Stamina regen by 10% during combat, the Superior version specifically will never run out between 6pm and 6am (game time), allowing you to consistently spam signs between those hours.
      The Ancient Leshen Decoction would be the best Decoction for Stamina regen, increasing Stamina regen with every Sign cast, until battle ends. However i think its bugged and only triggers for the first Sign cast, otherwise would have been OP.

    The decoctions are pointless though. All of them are. Even oils are.
    I never got in to the whole potions/oils/decoctions thing with the game, just seemed so f*cking dumb.... IS so dumb AF.
    I played with Just Story difficulty, then worked my way up on different playthroughs.
    With the right combat abilities and sign level, you can get by with just those and a good pair of swords as long as you make the effort on armour.
    Unless potions, oils, and decoctions allow you to one or two shot things which take twenty or thirty blows to fell otherwise, which they do not... they BARELY make a difference on the harder levels.....they really are just not worth it at all.
    With the Blood and Wine and Heart of Stone additions, it becomes even more pointless than simple RP value, to use any of that nonsense. Load up on chickens from Skellige, MAYBE make the top tier healing potion, and then just do some key parts of those DLC's when you are ultra low level, on NG+ when you have some advanced mutations from the Turn and Face The Strange mission. You'll unlock the Runewright, and SHOULD be able to meet the basic prerequisites of the five codes, if you dodge a lot and chow down them chooks, to fight the monk and get Aerondite or whatever.
    This will make the rest of the game much easier, having armour which generates Quen as soon as you enter combat and the most OP sword in the game, which remains powerful even ten or fifteen levels beyond what would be a normal swords window.
    So there is literally no reason to get these decoctions.

      To utilise the most powerful Ability in the game, Acquired Tolerance, Decoctions are an absolute necessity ;) 👍

      In conjunction with Protective Coating, Oils are extremely effective.

      @@GamerGrade I guess, but that ability is one I've never bothered once with, because I don't really potion, or oil or decoction for that matter, and I've never missed it.
      I don't even know what most of the green abilities do, because I've never used most of them. I bump a couple up just to fill my slots, add a greater green mutagen and get that vitality boost, but that's it.
      There's one where when you're almost dead you get a vitality boost, irrc, and if you bump that, it's like 75% of your health back. That's mighty handy, but the only one I've cared for.
      On a NG+ you should have unlocked Second Life too.
      The former triggers usually, though, before the latter.
      Adding the only potions you need, Superior White Raffords, that gives you like 5 chances or so, lives, if you will, to nail any encounter.
      Dumping points in combat and signs, along with those 'extra lives' usually ensures you come out a winner of any fight well before you run out of them.
      So I've never felt the need to kill anything for mutagens aside from base colours, just pointing out whilst yes, you only have those two chances, one each, for those two things, but they're not unmissable at all.

      Acquired Tolerance in conjunction with the Euphoria mutation is the most powerful combination in the game in terms of raw damage dealing, which is a pure Alchemy build.
      But fair play bro, if you're not interested in Alchemy at all then thats cool and you should play how you want to, and the play style you describe is valid. I appreciate you sharing your opinions 👍
      However, before knocking Alchemy, you should first properly try it out before stating its 'dumb AF'. 🍻

      @@GamerGrade I meant no disrespect to players rocking alchemy....
      ....but as a design feature, rather.
      Remember, in the books, it's kind of absolute
      Witchers have mutations, they supercharge them, so to speak, with potions, or use the mutated physiology to imbibe substances that give special powers they alone can handle.
      In the game, that isn't set in stone. If they set it as an active effect, Geralt always having X capabilities, due to Y mutagens and the nature of Witchers, and only that, you couldn't build a character. So you have base mutagens that are always in effect, BUT you can build upon them, improve those things such as potion use.To balance the game, they had to add the same for signs and combat.
      But in so doing removed any need for employing the alchemy, so as Game Geralt can, ultimately, rely much less on alchemy than book Geralt seems able.
      That's all I meant. The mechanics are redundant, because Signs can be empowered, and so can combat skills beyond a 'Book Witcher', removing the fundamental imperative that caused Witchers to use potions and oils.
      Pretty sure in the books, if a Witcher wants a (temporary) 'Level Up', potions and oils are how he has to go about it, he can't 'Level Up' his signs and combat skill without the alchemy.
      He can in the game, and avoids all the grind to make said potions, as well as having to sacrifice early gains, because alchemy looks to be the 'long game' build option, weakest at low levels, coming in to its own, later in the game.
      That's what I meant, nothing judging the players who go in for that. It's just a lot of work, for something you can come close to, power wise, other routes, that require less grinding, and pay off more immediately.
      Thanks for the replies, never meant to imply anything about players.
