  • I didn't originally think the Virginia Tech shooting had enough information on it to warrant an animation, but after finding the AAR document on it, I decided to make one. I took a bit of liberty with who was shot when and where they were in the room, but the end result is the same. Sources are pinned in the comments.

      My high school history teacher had him as a professor a few years before 4/16. When talking about the shooting, he said, "It's such bullshit that a man SURVIVES THE HOLOCAUST just to get shot by some kid". If anyone deserved a peaceful death it was Dr. Librescu. But instead, he died a hero. RIP. We will never forget.

    An interesting detail is that the Professor killed in the Hallway was actually from the 3rd floor. He was the only person originally on the third floor in the shooting to be killed. When the shooting started he apparently rounded up all students on the 3rd floor and barricaded them in his office, then went down to investigate what was going on/see if he could help. When he arrived in the 2nd Floor Hallway was when he was killed.

    • @sarvolkskaya

      Absolutely agree. I know they’re often trying to highlight how smart the victim was - especially when they’re a child - and they do deserve recognition 100% but we know that future shooters often pay a lot of attention to other active shooter incidents in the news and will internalize that info. Edit: in fact, I was one of the people the FBI interviewed (as a group) several days before. Cho was testing the response time of the police by dropping bomb threat notes in different buildings. This happened after I helped clear Torgesen Hall. There was a TA that recognized the way Cho wrote his periods as circles, and that they may be looking for someone Asian. • @SarinGasAttack
      @SarinGasAttack  11 месяцев назад +5

      I'm sure people typically left the doors locked overnight. But, Emily had only recently got back after staying the night with her boyfriend, and also would've been expecting her roommate to arrive soon after. So, she just kept the door unlocked during that time, unfortunately.
