    Hello, Shea! Greetings from Brazil!
    At 38:10 after the state scoring, I understand that since the rule states "Then, lower all 3 scores TO their half (rounded up)" and not "lower the scores BY their half", you round up the leftover scores, not the discounted values. In your example, the red score should go from 7 to 4 (not 3) and the blue score from 5 to 3 (not 2).

    Great video, Shea! I did have one question; at 34:33 (and again at 41:40), you mention that the State player earns a VP for making a sale of Health/Education if the corresponding policies are in 'either section A or B'. However, as best as I can determine, it seems like the VP bonus is only applied while the relevant policy is in section 'B', and if a policy changes to section 'A', the reward of legitimacy per every 3 sold is in lieu of the VP reward. Am I missing something? I really did try to dig through these comments and BGG before posting, you do such a thorough job on this stuff. Thanks!

      Hmm, yeah that does seem to be the way now that I'm looking back on it. It's probably a mistake on my part and the publishers just missed it when they double checked the video, but I've sent your question to them just in case I got it from some FAQ or something and forgot. If they say you're right about it, I'll make sure to add a note. Thanks!

    RULES ERRORS
    19:44 you actually discard as many companies as you want to, then draw until you have 4. You don’t have to discard them all
    29:03 when the middle class sells to the foreign market it is NOT just like how the capitalists do it. The middle class gets 1 point for every sale they make, but the capitalists do not.
    46:58 you said the state reduces its legitimacy markers to half their value rounded up but you moved the capitalist marker to half its value rounded down

    The one change to the base rules that I would make would be to place the revealed Immigration cards aside (or face up under the deck instead of face down) and once the deck was exhausted you shuffle them to form a new deck, leaving out any cards draw already if more need to be drawn.
    Unless a deck is really large I don't like the "place on the bottom" because after one cycle players with good memories would know what's coming and play accordingly. That might be alright in some cases but I get the feeling that in this case it's supposed to always be random.
    Thanks for the video.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I get that. No reason you can't house rule it that way. Though in my experience it's such a long game that I don't remember well enough what I got at the very start if it even comes up again.

    • @TheSchaef47
      @TheSchaef47 3 месяца назад +1

      There are 25 immigration cards in the deck. Even if immigration is turned all the way up for the whole game, with working and middle classes included, I don't think you're likely to see the bottom of that deck in a single game.
      Even if you do, since working and middle classes draw separately, the cards in the same order won't necessarily produce identical results if they came up a second time.

    • @vladspellbinder
      @vladspellbinder 3 месяца назад +1

      @@TheSchaef47 It is not a matter of "identical results" but _knowing the result ahead of time_ for this sort of thing. If the deck cycles then any player who cares about it and can remember such things now have an advantage over other players who can't remember such things. The players with good memory can make plays based on the known card order when the results should be random and force players to adapt.
      It's just a personal thing for my particular play group that this *might* be an issue with the Rules As Written.
      I just prefer when you re-randomize cards instead of putting them on the bottom of the deck as they are drawn.

    • @TheSchaef47
      @TheSchaef47 3 месяца назад

      @@vladspellbinder if the results are not identical - i.e. if the card previously drawn by a working class player is instead drawn by the middle class player - then the result can't be known ahead of time because it's a different player placing a different worker.
      And like I said, I don't think the numbers work out that the deck would ever need to be cycled. If immigration is at 2, and you have working class and middle class across five rounds of play, that's only 20 cards out of 25 available. I'll need to go through the player decks to see if there are other instances of bringing out immigration cards, but I would be surprised if even six more come out between all the cards. So I find it very unlikely you'll ever see the bottom of that deck during normal play.

    • @vladspellbinder
      @vladspellbinder 3 месяца назад

      @@TheSchaef47 But you WILL know ahead of time if the card has already been seen what will happen because everyone should know the rules. It doesn't matter which player is activating the effect, all players able to remember the card order will know what the result will be if they get that card at that time and can thus plan ahead when the whole point of a random deck order is to make people think on their feet and work with what they are given.
      If it can't happen base game then fine, not an issue, but if they ever wanted to release an expansion that increased game length but didn't add in new Immigration cards then it could be an issue for some play groups so best to future proof the rules.

      I wouldn't say "as fun", since it's way more interesting to have a state player. However it is still solid and a vary good game with only 3. There are automas for all classes but the state, which is more or less a built in automa for 3 or less players games. Haven't tried those yet.

    at 37:12 he mentions not being able to take certain action if the legitimacy is at 1. We couldn't find in the rulebook where this is said, does anyone have a page number? Hi, I have a question. At 15:35 onwards, you said "when upgrading a skilled worker, it has to be unemployed" what does it mean?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  4 месяца назад

      So what that means is that you can change a skilled worker from one type to another, so long as they're in the unemployment zone. However for middle class workers, there's actually a correction on that due to updated rules. The new rule is that they can be in a company and still be upgraded, provided they aren't on a skilled worker space.
