This is so beautiful to witness. I grew up in the 60’s and I hated the harsh manner in which people broke horses. I’m so happy to see a kind and meaningful relationship between woman and horse. Bravo!
She is a joy to watch, so smart! You know how sometimes people refer to their dog as being a "velcro" dog? Well, I believe this girl is going to be a "velcro horse"!🤗 She really loves attention and seems to want to please. Whoever ends up with this mare is going to have a fabulous horse💖
I’ve watched Sam with 4 mustangs now and they are all amazing, each such different personalities . I think there are no bad horses, and Sam is an extraordinary trainer. She connects so completely with them, they trust her.
I found myself with a big smile on my face throughout that entire video. (The white legs comment cracked me up) I kept hearing that song Sweet Caroline. Lol what a gem she is and so lucky to have you by her side.
Man she is so calm. I know it probably won't happen since the thing ends in basically an auction. But fully trained, I could maybe see her making an awesome horse for like a therapeutic riding program. They usually look for horses with a calm personality like hers.
I love her so much! 😍 She’s really good with progression! I love watching her journey! She’s a horse I would dream to have! She’s such an awesome Mustang! 👍😁😂❤️
How did you get into mustang gentling? That is my absolute dream and I was wondering if you could give a little insight on it. I absolutely love your methods and cannot wait for more videos!
I love your videos, they give me so much inspiration and dieas when im stuck! Im starting to work with a spicey Arabian, not a mustang but he acts like one lol but ive been having some trouble getting his hind to move left cause he’s been stuck
I think developing the bond and getting her acquainted with you and your expectations far out weighs how soon you can get on her back. PS. less tan = more tats
I LOVE her💜 How will she be for sale at the end? Not an auction I’d assume, since the makeover is virtual. Also, how much do you think would she go for when she gets sold?
Lena Hylton I believe that they still do an auction. EMM horses can go for a range of prices, I think the auctioneer starts at 500, and it moves up from there. I think Sam’s last EMM horse (Roulette) was sold for 3,700 (I might be wrong, because it seems low to me- Rou was absolutely gorgeous) There are many many factors of course
julia gray I THOUGHT it sounded super low! Lol Rou is stunning, and Sam did a great job with her...remember how pissed off she was at first? Charging, pinning her ears... then suddenly she released and softened, and became such a great learner
this mare is so cool with you wow- an ottb who has been sitting in a pasture for a long time almost kicked me because i tried to use a curry comb on him LMAO
When I saw her I immediately thought Missy should be her name. I don't know why or if you have already had a horse with that name because I just found your channel when you got her.
@@SamVanFleet As a borderline intermediate rider myself, I'd be concerned she wouldn't be 'safe' for me. You make them look so mellow but I'm not sure the average (or newer) rider wouldn't have trouble. :)
Advice on a horse that is super touchy with her ears/poll? Trying to teach her to keep her head down, but she will yank up hard when she thinks you're going to touch up there. She listens momentarily with lead rope pressure to get her head down, but then just goes right back up?
I had a lesson horse like that, usually it is due to some sort of trauma like the baby being pulled out by the ears at birth, or it can simply be a quirk. I’m not a expert, but for me I feel like just being patient with the horse, and trying to get them to relax was the trick.
Does anyone know about the temperament of the mustangs in the Wild Horse Range in Nevada? I’m fixing to get one from there and I would love any knowledge about them, please.
Do You have any tips for a horse that we can’t tie? Like we have one he’s a big horse and he ripped apart a huge post he freaks out.. edit: forgot to mention this but he used to be able to tie up perfectly fine and we don’t know what happened now he just freaked out and hasn’t been able to be tied sense.
I know that you weren't asking me but if you have a tree or even a sturdy trailer putting a sit back clip, which basically holds the horse in place but if they come back with enough force it will let the lead rope go, so they dont hurt their neck. But also if possible, putting them in an area where they can't get off property and just ground tying them, so just drop the lead rope and work like that and then work your way up. So start with ground tying, then someone holding them, then just the lead rope thrown over a post or tree so they aren't tied just standing there, and lastly tie them in a quick release/ slip knot so if they did start acting up it would be easy to untie them. I'm not a trainer, these are just some of the things that I have found worked for my horses.
Well, first of all, try making them less nervous around the pole, tree or whatever you tie them on. By that I mean giving them treats when they are near it and staying still. And letting them know that is a space to rest, after riding them and getting them really tired, tie them to a pole (of course after a bit of training like the person above me said), do that for a couple of days until they understand that its like a safe place to rest
@@oliviaagueroasaro9174 yes of course that too, I was just thinking more of the horse has a fear of being tied not the pole itself but that is a good point

Little “plain bay” mare: Challenge accepted
😂😂😂
What did Rue look like? Sorry I’m a new sub
Love this sweet little horse, She tries to please. Hope she finds a loving home.👧
I love how she just wants to be right next to you, especially when she feels uncomfortable what a trusting animal
When she’s fully trained she’d make an amazing lesson horse!! You both look so great!!
I bet she's bored when you are not around. Even though she doesn't always understand what you are asking, she probably enjoys having a partner.
😳 she’s going to be such an amazing horse fully trained, not that she is t amazing 😉
Oops my bad 🤗

This girl is a keeper. MY gut tells me.... she is truly special 💖

From what I've seen so far, I think she would make an amazing kids pony!
Such a incredible mare!! she is so chill
She's been such a fun girl from the beginning! Can't wait to see what you're doing on day 96 if this is what day 6 looks like!!
Truth!!
Such a great horse. I feel like she's really enjoying learning.
I wish I was ready for a horse.
Love that she is a Klingon (my dog was one). Such a sweet soul❤️
Such a lovely personality in this video! Oh, and the human was okay 😂😂

All I can say is wow amazing temperament and an amazing trainer.she is very smart
I think her name should be Dream. She is a Amazing mare and anyone who gets her will have such a Dream.❤️❤️❤️😘
I like it, but she said she didn’t need anymore suggestions! Sorry if I sound rude, just wanted to put that out there! 😄 thanks and have a great day!
Megan no you aren’t rude! Sorry I didn’t hear that, thank you! Have a nice night or day😊
If you sneak it onto one of the older videos, where others did name suggestions she might see it!😉 my personal idea was Pandora
She's so sweet. Such a kind eye. Hope her name reflects her sweet, calm nature. Great job! Oh and most of us horse girls have VERY pale legs. LOL!
Mostly bcos we usually have breeches/jeans on 😂
She is just so amazing! So chilli while you jumped all over her. Love her!
Your videos are my new obsession! So excited to see the next instalment
Thanks!
Omg I love her so much!!! She is going to be SUCH a GOOD horse!!!!
Best tan I’ve ever had in this, my 49th year. turns out, driving a tractor to mow and spread while wearing shorts is awesome.
I just love this horse, she is something special for sure! Never had a horse myself and hardly have ridden, One day I will need one!
Wow! She is one good mare! She is also too cute 🥺🥺

Amazing how you can do that in 6 days! Good job! 👍👏
Wow! She’s a great girl. She’s gonna make someone amazing horse. This goes to show how great mustangs really are!
She’s impressive. Very strong looking, too. Going to be a great riding horse.

I think you've done absolutely amazing for day 6. You should be so proud ❤
She is so relaxed with you. So fun to watch your progress.
That would be a great keeper. Big stout good natured.
You're a very good horse trainer
Sam, you are always such a pleasure to watch. BTW I also wear shorts working with horses in summer. Way too hot here its the southern tip of Spain
She loves u!!!

Sam, I knew you would be on her back by the 6th day. Awesome. Keep up the good work babe. Take care everyone.👍
Yay! New video! So excited to see the progress in this day
Great progress.
lovely! Hey wanted to say I love your intro and you look so pretty in that closeup shot in it :)
When will she get a name? Her color is strikingly beautiful 😊
cowgirl up! this great for day 6 imo. name suggestion: Peaceful (Easy Feeling, I know You Won't Let Me Down - Eagles tune)
Lovely!!
Woo-hoo! Great job today too!

Going with the flow really nice

These Maine shirts are the shit! Repping my state! What a lovely mare. She's got a real solid frame, almost drafty!
Haha I love Maine!

one in a thousand can not necessarily get a horse like this , I just learned how to ride a horse..✊🏻❤️
She is good for being wild
Great job Sam! You are awesome with horses. How is Lynx doing?

8:10 she’s like “what us going on here. T^T?”

I totally want that mare. ;)
Bid on her!

It takes patience use to have one good luck
Hope Lynx does well during his health check.
She’s stunning! 😍 when do you usually choose a name for your mustangs?
Around week 4! Real time I’ve had her 3 weeks now 🙂
Sam VanFleet how exciting!!! I’m looking forward to seeing what name you pick 😊
Hi! i commented on day 3 or 4 some name ideas... i don’t know if you saw them :)
I think maybe Azelia, Tally, coral or elliot (ellie)
What a treasure she is
Day 6 and Rue would have said WHAT do you think you're doing human?
Get off ME!!
They are all so different.
This girl needs a name she's so sweet.

Dream, Shalom. Aalin ( it is Manx for beautiful) or Cariad (it means Love in Welsh). I'm Manx-Welsh hence the choices. Or Star. Xx

What kind of training do you do? Do you follow a Liberty program? Thanks.

I'm just curious but what size round pen are you working her in?
Tha is cool
When engaging her hind quarters, getting them to cross over, do you use any voice command? Or clicking?
If she doesn’t respond off my body language, I’ll increase the pressure by moving my whip more, then clicking if necessary
How many hands is she?
