- I played around a bit with the storage options for all different kinds of item types. I decided to use up all my closets and drawers for this. Maybe it will help you to keep everything tidy and in a proper order. Enjoy! :)

You can decorate with them without using the closets and drawers up by using the magnetic blocks. I started just copying the wardrobes, drawers and cupboards ect to the magnetic blocks for their rooms. After all they won't store things or use them other than a wardrobe when you make a dressing room, so they might as well have just visual versions lol.
At least I think you can do it this way, I haven't used enough of them yet to hit any limits et lol.
So organized 😍 im so excited to try the tips you've mentioned about storing water and etc but i still need to unlock the upgraded bottomless pot 😭😭😭 can't wait to finish the game so I could finally focus and do all these 😍
I'm sure ya figured this already, but since I noticed the seal in the back. Unless you want monsters on the island, you only need top place one seal next the hermit. It activates for the whole island then.

Markun Syndrome don’t feel bad, the more you build the better your ideas will get. Just finished playing with an elevator design for several hours, started as a basic wood structure and ended up as a glass elevator :)

i love the game but the limits are anoying... chest limit, villager limit, room limit.... how am i supposed to build a giant City with all those Limits -.- I hope that they maybe create a PC Version of this game where are no such limits bcs they dont need to consider the performance. BTW does anybody know if there mor DLC `s in the making?
I believe they'll announce two more DLC in the upcoming stream on 8/8/2019. We'll see :)
and yeah those limits really are annoying, it's only to hold the performance in check.
I wish there was an option to toggle for performance. I'm playing on a PS4 Pro that I swapped a solid state drive into, I think my system could handle a bit more! I know that would cause problems in multiplayer, but still...

Got a quick question, if I put stuff into storage like you have will it still be available to build with? For example if my items are in storage and I want to make a bed would it take the cotton/wood from storage or my personal bag?
Seems like the switch version doesn't have 128 chests... Here's what I found: community chests, storage bays and colossal coffers all share 32 slots. Wardrobes, wooden cabinets, armoires and gift-wrapped gifts all share 64 slots. Drawers have 32 slots of their one, and cupboards 16. This falls really short compared to 128 chests :/

They recent doubled the limits to those listed in the video. That is more than enough space, really.

@breakfast fan I think you can still put more of if you hit the limit, though you can not use them to store stuff in if I got it right, never hit the limit for drawers because I did not go for a central hoarding storage facility because of the said limits I rather use the storage in the rooms I build on my island.
@@TheYdyp -- Not sure, lookup Ben's video on recent version updates, he goes over the changes.
YOu can place more than 16/32 but then you won't be able to put stuff inside, so only as decoration. You can still use the old style closet (I believe the limit is also 16)
Great storage tips! I’ve been waiting for some help with this. I prefer to carry around the items I build with and have everything else in storage, so this is great help to keep all the junk organized! Keep up the great work !

You mentioned in the video that you hate having to sleep to avoid monsters annoying you.... if you put down the "Ward of Erdrick" down in your game the local area that each tablet represents will be critter free.... it stops the monsters spawning in that area :)

Have you collected every item? I can't seem to unlock the supersized steak set. It says I need 5 scaly steaks and I have them but its not recognizing I have them. It just says 0/5 scaly steaks. What's up with that?

I'm not 100% shure but looks like only steaks that you collect on material islands counts, and those you collect in story chapters not. I have 4/5 now...
You need to collect 5 scaly steaks from the point on you unlocked the item challenge. Just kill some dragons or dragon warriros on material islands.
I tried to put every single unique item into the chest, but at least in the Switch version, you begin to run out of space near the end
I had this problem too, and all of my chests have to stay usable for the rooms like kitchens or similar places. It's a nuisance

So, just a suggestion to anyone who reads this,
if you put a chest of drawers on top of a chest of drawers, you can use both.
Just use the button to look up in 3rd person and you can use the chest of drawers on top.
Twice the storage. Smaller space. I've yet to try it with other 1×1 storage containers, but feel free to. I've grown attached to mine. 💙

Ben, you can eliminate the monsters by placing a seal of Edrick by your tablet.
where do you get the closets and drawers? i haven't found/unlocked them yet; i have the wardrobes, wooden cabinets, and storage bay, but no closets and no drawers
Have you played through the story yet? Normally they should be unlocked by then :)

I'd like to build mine as close to yours as possible. Any chance you can let us know what you used for the specific pieces? For example, I'm trying to figure out what you used for the flooring in front of the cabinets lol
Anyone have any idea what it's made with? I thought it was Obsidian blocks, using the Ultimate Mallet, but it's not.
It's marble floor (part of the modernist DLC pack)
Is there a cheat sheet for capacities for certain things? Like how many chests can you have at one time? Or how many crops / seeds can you have planted at once. I know I already hit that limit when my seeds were popping out of the ground lol.

Yesterday I implemented your item organization system as well as the various liquids. Both work without fail. It got me really excited to keep playing. I also followed all your medal, seed of life and secret items tutorials. I had missed some things. I signed up for your Patreon. btw. Looking forward to the future of this channel.
I'm using a similar setup, right at the docks to unload after arriving. I've sorted in two dimensions, by material and raw/blocks/furnitures/deco/etc, then the other stuff in a second room, by type. However, I haven't used anything but chests yet. Are those limits per sector or island wide?
Also, PSA for all the other people like me who didn't notice that the chest menu allows you switch to your bag inventory by pressing the triggers: You can do that.
They are island wide. Also chests are totally possible near the docks because villagers won't go there :)
@@BenXC Yeah, I am slowly working on making myself the Batcave and some sort of Wayne Manor near the dock and my plan is to have a room set up to hide storage at within the cave. Then in the Green area I am still working on like a mini Batcave under a "vacation home" for when my character is in the country. Going to maybe see about doing a barn set up like in Smallville (but I am still brainstorming about possible ideas to do)

Hello Ben, I'm wondering if you might happen to know of a few meat meals that would be huge in size I seen in a video it was enormous size if a steak or something. I adore your videos your laugh is so funny. Keep up the great work!
I try to make a new field in a different location for planting but the worm and the guys dont come and clean how do you made them come to the new spot
You need to move them to that location. you can only have villagers helping/living etc. in the 3 main areas (you can test if you're still in one of those areas with the bell and they come running).

@@mrjedi1523 build the Resident's Registry (the scroll looking thing). Then interact with it. You can also add specific people to your party this way if you want to run around with 3 specific people. I use Malroth, Britney, and a Sabercat for his mount.

i want to visit the island, but was landed on your buildertopia, how can i fix this?
So I am a bit confused... I can no longer put down treasure chests as they will not register. I have 32 Storage Bays that will register, but if I put down 1 more Storage Bay or 1 more treasure chest, it will tell me "Any more items of this type that you place will not be usable." Do Storage Bays somehow count as "treasure chests?"
I certainly do not have 128 chests on the IoA. I have 7 closet type storage containers on the IoA and only about 20 drawer type storage containers. Please help! Thanks!

You need to have space behind the item. Don't put it against the wall. At least that was my problem.

What are the white blocks behind the drawers?
Those are the display stands for items. You can build them on your workbench.
My solution, just delete most of the item, especially item you can craft infinitely because you have unlimited supply to some items (i.e wood, silver, cooper, gold etc). And only keep items that hard to craft

Awesome, I was struggling to come up with categories for sorting stuff 😅 I’ve been deleting all my “unlimited” materials since there’s no need to keep them (someone let me know if that’s not the case) as they don’t get used when you craft stuff. Haven’t unlocked Marble yet, but that one I won’t delete since they are blocks and pretty :) I’ll definitely visit your island soon :D
You do need at least one oil cause you can cook with it
Gotta say, the limit for chests and things are a bit disappointing. Especially, when you're like me and keep likee everything! (then the residence come along and mess up your organization by putting stuff they make/farm in random boxes :P)
As for the "Always daytime" option... honestly, i want a "let it snow" option for like the winter area (all that snow and... it's raining). Plus a "monster spawner" would be kind of fun. Make actual dungeons and what not for people to go through.
If you use the icecream thing for the Powie Wowie and turn enough area into snow it will change the area to start snowing. Then just build on top of it. The game is still recognizing it as snow as long as you don't build enough to change the tile into non-snow in the minimap. I made a "snowglobe" on my island doing this.
@@mattshuey1 But :/ it's not doing it though. Seriously, the tiles are showing up as snow as I have a good majority of the ground set as snow but it's still raining, not snowing :/
@@JCKane It might be an elevation thing. I've only done the snow on the Cerulean Steppes area and it is more elevated than the rest of the map. Try it on the Hermit's place in the middle of the map as its elevated too. I haven't tested thoroughly to see what triggers the snow. Thinking it might be an elevation thing now.
@@mattshuey1 When I mentioned "Good majority of the ground" I meant in Cerulean Steppes. Only place I have snow :/ And aside for the mountains, the beach, and the buildings. everything is snow. So I'm not sure why it's raining :/

I maaay have had a slight accident with a torch and burned your barn down during a visit to your island. Then I kinda accidentally flooded your farm trying to put out the fire. Sorry.
Can you still use the items in storage to build with?
Yes! They will still get recognized when building something at one of the workbenches.

Hey David, I'm only sharing the Hyrule island because I can only share one island. But this video should help you to build it, all you need are a few drawers/shelves/wardrobes and item display stands. Or what is the issue?

Edit: Would anyone happen to know any good farming methods for rockbomb shards? I wanna blow up most of my island, lol
go to moonbrooke or the explorer shore with the lava and smash them with your hammer. They will try to self destruct but your dps is always faster than their countdown. Or make some crumbling sand (lots) and use the trowel on the ground under you with the sand. When it changes it breaks away (all of it) and you drop down a block height.

Both the pass with all three DLCs and the digital edition of the game give you access to a large range of recipies, including the ornamental herb and wing
On switch it's a preorder item for digital with a bunch if other limited dlc and physical edition just gave you the wing/herb recipes. Don't know about ps4 sorry

Way to complicated, I did something like this where I did “mining stuff”(tracks, bombs, cars and what not), “farming” “gems dyes, and ores” “seeds” “Personal food to be cooked” “furniture” “house parts” “armor and weapons” “unused crafting stations” and “misq” then divided it into 9 areas in a vault type area to make a safe place for villagers and for working on stuff needed for building

"too complicated" is a relative term. I played this game for around 7 months now and this is the improved version where I will likely never run out of storage space for the next 7 months. I ran out of space in my previous storage solution in about 1 month.
Why the need of item storage when you have limitless storage in your bag ?
The bag is not limitless storage, it is just very large storage. I have managed to run out of room in the bag once, and it is also a pain searching through your bag to find at item. I know I have almost 400 oil in by bag somewhere but I cannot find it at the moment.
AngryGeek Production I started ran out of space coming back from moonbrooke and ever since its been a struggle. Deleting items, chest limits and finding items in your bag is my biggest complaint with the game. Other then that I absolutely love it though. Keep playing and you will see what people are talking about x

I will finish the let's play with a few episodes (of the end of the game). But I don't think I'll make the episodes inbetween, because I didn't enjoy them THAT much (I already saw everything in the japanese one - which I also have a let's play of)
