The Dietree was my favourite part of Furrow field. I wish you could’ve gotten lil one for the isle of awakenings green gardens. Would’ve been cool to have a couple more things from each island that were more specific or special. Like the goldirox face, and the beacon of Edrick. Just stuff that was meant for each kind of biome in the game.
Grassy fields(Dietree), Desert oasis(Banana and coconut trees you could actually plant and harvest from), snowy forest(maybe snow and ice bricks and tiles so you could build igloos and ice palaces), deserts(Goldirox face), snowfields(Beacon, so you can melt it), swamps(spoil spores and maybe even rotten fruits and veggies), volcanos(hot water geysers, tar pits or bubbling magma), underground mines(hanging stalagmites and glowing rocks, or bigger glowing plant life) and a whole lot more areas all could have their own unique kind of item.
Now I’m just wanting a sequel so more cool stuff can be added, other than small things in dlc’s
I have goldirox face 😂 and the gold bar on my island
@@raven5048 Yeah, that's something you can craft multiple times, but you can't really get a Builder's Bell (i.e. - the full version that's two-blocks wide, not the small bell itself you learn to craft after Khrumbul-dun) or Deitree sprout or any of its full plant forms prior to the one you build out of bark and leaves.
It's possible you can use the storage trick to store the builder's bell after you make it just like you would with copying seeds of life, the Deitree seed sprout, or whatever, but I'm not sure if there would be any unintended consequences of keeping that. I would think putting it in a level where it doesn't belong, since it's the Malhalla bell, would potentially break the game. Maybe not, but I wasn't willing to try it. As much as I wanted a proper Builder's Bell for my own islands.
Plus I forgot you could use the storage bay for the trick and was so focused on chests that I didn't think of it.
That first castle reminded me a bit of one in DQB1. On a teleportal island in Ch2.
"Omit" means to 'leave out' or 'remove'. So things they built but decided not to put in the game.
Maybe that weird floating disk was supposed to be the original version of the Ark? But that's just a theory. A Dragon Quest Builders 2 theory! Thanks for reading.
Poking at the files, it looks like they regenerated the chunks it occupies, thus the large square holes in it and weird geography below. It might still be intact on one of the older physical release's files.
There is so much stuff they can put into a dlc, that I'd pay for. but great video as always thanks for showing us this, I hope your feeling alot better
Thank you. Yes I do :)
Withered leaves blocks can be found on Furrowfield island if you fly back out to where the old Deitree was. There are dead trees there which you can break for withered leaves. I collected a bunch since I was building a Castlevania-esque area.
Thank you :)
You're quite welcome. Only fair, I've learned so much from watching your videos. Saved me a lot of trials and error.
Withered leaves are located at the dead deitree in furrowfield
I'm reminded of the promotional material before DLC was released when looking at the items in a row showing all the color options, I feel like I've seen some of that stuff on their social media. What an amazing island! Thank you so much for showing us this, and keep on snooping for that Battle Atoll content, I feel it in my bones that we will get a battle DLC at some point.
Well, I hate to break it to ya, but I think that was all the DLC we'll be getting. Sorry.
after visiting all the items laid out like that, it might be a good time to talk about things we want in DQB3.
Personally I want it to feel more like a DQ game with DQ3's starting town. But have the game focused on your own town and it's Quester's Rest like DQ9's or others I'm missing. I hope you can build your own team from what they learned with Malroth.
Raymond Hart
That would be sweet to have a town and party to build. Feel more like classic jrpg’s with the party, but still have the builders feels from a town and villagers.
I’d like to see different class types(at least for the villagers) similar to what the knights of moonbrooke would get.
Red buffed, Green healed, and Blue, I can’t remember, but Brittany was Blue so they kickass🤣
Could steal Final Fantasy’s classes a bit or use old DQ stuff(I never played the games so idk what they had) to get a healer, mage, knight, etc. Cause it feels kinda weird having one or two farmers/miners able to fight with you while the rest cower like lil babies.
(Sorry for the massive rambling comment. Just felt like continuing this point 😁👍🏻)
@@lukasgauvreau8344 Blue can do a spin attack.
Today one of your builds came up on my loading screen 😊😎
Great video as always, thanks Ben!
Thanks for watching it! ^^
Ben, you should "lend" some of those buildings by using the pencil. Especially the Castles.
Yes, please do!
Between you and Beatemup's Dragon Quest Builder's 2 has skyrocketed up my list of which games to get once I get a Switch. It's in 4th place out of 44. You got me so excited to play this game, it's full of endless adventure and possibilities and has a ton of ways to use my imagination. I want to play this game as soon as possible and am shooting for April, a month after I get my Switch finally. Wish me luck!
Good luck on getting it! It's totally worth it :)
Ty for posting today!! Going through a lot. Needed a nice break. And your videos are so light and fun!!
Oh what happened? Hope everything will be better for you pretty soon! And thank you :)
@@BenXC it's a divorce and a move across country... :(
I think it's supposed to be pronounced like Deity, meaning God. but with a tree at the end...dee-e-tree
For people that are curious, the debug version can be obtained LEGIT, you only need to own the game. After that you need to unlock the Steam console option. It is a hidden option in steam. I can't tell you how to unlock it though, as i don't want you all to "raid" the debug version and thus the devs deleting it.
Which steam console would be best ?
wah, so many great builds... I rcently gone back to the castle in dream area in moonbroke and was mesmerized how nice it was with all the rooms and corridors...
Totally agree, they did an awesome job with their builds 😊
They're plenty creative in the actual game, but part of the point is that you're in a world without building. It's your job to make it look better. Putting in too much amazing stuff would be super deflating for the kind of player who doesn't have the patience or time to make something as grand.
The only place you ever go to that isn't entirely destroyed for one reason or another in the game, and the only place you aren't expected to build up, is Malhalla and even there, plenty is destroyed. Hargon's Castle is all that remains, because Malroth smashed everything else in the surrounding area.
And even with those smashed remains in the area, where you meet one of the Children of Hargon leaders and find all those chests to loot where the Seed of Life is, you can see some really creative ideas in there. Like hiding red light cubes in-between two stained glass windows to give a dark and foreboding look.
I do wish we could have seen a few more things like that, it would be nice to get some inspiration for my own builds, but I understand the intent behind it. The world is supposed to be a world *without* building. If there's a bunch of stuff more impressive than anything you've ever built or will build, that would completely defeat the point and make your builder seem rather plain by comparison.
I hope Ben plays DQB3
Of course! 🤓
Happy New year Ben! 🎉The devs decorating style is interesting. Too bad we can't see the other islands in the list
Thank you :) the other islands were not that interesting but I'll make sure to put them in one of the following videos ;)
I think withered leaves are on the small island on furrowfield where you can find the hearts of the original holy tree
Or at the tops of the trees near the ruined church
they're also an Illerpillar drop
Ah thank you :)
I was playing last night and funnily enough ended up getting three blocks of withered leaves on the Defiled Isle. The problem is, I'm not sure how I got them! I was using the Transform-o-trowel to collect blocks of witchgrass so maybe there were some under another type of block that I ended up switching out, or maybe it was an enemy drop that I didn't notice (Edit to add: confirmed that it's the blue caterpillars that sometimes drop them). But as other people have mentioned, going back to Furrowfield and the old Deitree might be worth a look.
Recentlty I did something similar to that all-white house the developers made - my favourite colour is purple so I built a manor house using as many purple blocks and items as I could. I call it my Purple Palace :)
Can anyone please tell me where I can get the stackable slime 😥😅
The glass roof panes are because of the missing textures. As someone that often used to stuff-up installing custom content ( XD ) I'm used to this in games.
Likely those were plants or trees that were part of the strange dirt set you could not put down. The game substituted the closest thing it could calculate for what item it couldn't find. I used to get that back in the sims when I didn't have an expansion, it would grab a base game replacement. Sometimes it worked out, other times you would end up with pillars or chairs all over 😂
They might also be incorrect IDs. Because stuff changes mid dev.
@@asra-5180 yeah like they forgot about that item because it wouldn't get used and used the ID for some new item :)
Thank you Silver Bane that clarifies things :)
@@BenXC one unused blueprint even uses a dlc door from the jp pack, And it is in the air.
Happy New Year, I am glad you are feeling better. Makes me smile to see your videos and hear that 🤤accent😉
Haha thanks 🇩🇪 😊
@@BenXC me to love your voice so much
@@corinawhite6457 aww thanks :>
@@BenXC ty for getting back to other have not got back to me tiny bit up set I was going soon give up Glad you said something back to me
Yes finally you come
I'd like to see your take on an epic Swiss Family Robinson style tree home.
Sounds like a very nice idea :)
So the Developers do have fun with their game. That makes me happy. If Developers can have fun with something they made then most likely the players will too.
I wish Fromsoft would play their Dark Souls series.. The DS games feel undone.
lmfao just because you suck at them doesn't mean they're not done.
Love your content! I got DQB2 for Christmas and have been watching you non-stop... even at work heehee! Thanks so much and just hit you up on Patron too :D
Glad you're feeling better Ben! I'm actually saving up to repair our old PC! Hope this will be a fruitful year for all of us!
Thanks :)
And a year of fast and working PCs hopefully :D
Thats so cool! I wonder if that was suppose to be a isle of awakening at one point in development…
12:25 Lol
Hope you're feeling better x)
Yeah I do. Thank you :)
Hi Ben I have a recommendation. Try building different houses using only materials from one luxury workbench per house
That's a nice idea :)
we also take off our shoes in the hallway in Norway too, its disgusting not dong so
That’s pretty neat, I’m curious what those floating blocks were still
Ben, if it helps you CAN connect your PS4 controller to the PC too. Also, yes the lag is more then likely your PC.
The support needs to be enabled though. Because for WHATEVER REASON, STEAM MADE IT NOT ENABLED BY DEFAULT.
You don't need to use Steam's support. You can either just connect the controller (game supports it natively) or use DS4Windows.
Happy new year ben and nice video
Thank you very much :)
Happy new year and hi from France 👀

Happy new year also to France! 🇨🇵
Great video! 👍 Its a shame you cant use that debug menu to turn off some of the many limits in the game for some of us that have powerful PC's. Also, are you going to show us how you open this debug menu? 😎
hi benxc in the debug version is there dlc like aquarium and fishing dlc and hotto stuff,or it have only debug menu?
Everything is included as far as I can tell, though I heard there are problems if you want to play through Khrumbul-Dun (chapter 2)
@@BenXC i'm in krumbul-dun and i'm close to the end of the chapter i'm building this huge bar/pool thing and i have no probleme with this debug version
I hug. No be sick anymore!
Yes. Big hug! Very warm! Make Ben feel better! 🤗
Would you look at that. I'm feeling better again! :D
The mine carts will go through waterfalls and not get stopped
Happy New Year:)
Thank you 😊
Rare to find but you can obtain withered leaves block
3:44 The problem might not be with your pc since this game tends to prioritize intergrated graphics than dedicated gpu. I have heard of many people who had the issue with performance just like you
Yeah I heard of this problem. "Luckily" this is not the case for me. My CPU is almost 10 years old 😅
Is there a "creative mode" in this game kind of like how minecraft does it? I play on the switch. Thanks in advance and happy new year. Glad you're feeling better.
The end game is considered as a creative mode, though you would have to use the cheat engine program which disables the need for items while crafting. And thank you :)
@@BenXC is the cheat engine found on the switch version?
@@michaelcorleone9930 If you have a hacked switch and some homebrew that adds cheats, sure; plenty of cheats have been made for the Switch version of DQB2.
If not, then you're out of luck.
@@FabioCapela ok thanks. I did just get a second switch but am too scared to hack it. None the less, thank you for responding and letting me know. This channel rocks!
After seeing this video, I feel like I'm missing a lot in DQB 2. XD Is there a list on the internet with all items listed?
Yeah there are quite a lot of items ^^
This list should help, just click on the "item names"-tab :)

@@BenXC Thank you so so much ♥
@@BenXC maybe we can get the items that you can't remove from the dev island with CE. We only need to find out what IDs they are... do you know of any way Ben? If there is no way, we need to go through eeeeeevery single ID one by one.
with some of the stuff they where testing would add to dragon quest builders 3?🤔
Great video!!!!! i cannot find a build that has Debug mode
I couldn't get a good look at it. but, you mention "I wonder if this was the original Moonbrooke castle looked like". (probably knew this...) Moonbrooke was very much based on the original dragon quest 2 map. www.realmofdarkness.net/dq/img/snes/dq2/maps/moonbrooke-2.png that castle didnt like it at all. I do wonder if any of those other random recreations were tests at building other towns, houses from various DQ games, though.
mikesrpgcenter.com/dw2/maps/hamlin.png The hamlin/moonahan chapel, and bonfire on the island is very noticable in game. In case anyone wondered why that weird island/bonfire was there. probably have been over this in previous vids. I haven't watched all your stuff.
Hi ben, i'm french and i want ask you if i can go to dev island on ps4, alls items wich is in this island, can i have it normally without chat on ps4 game? Thx for youre future response. ..
Excuse me for my english, its not easy for me, my english lessons are ooold..
How do you open the debug menu to go to this island? 🤔 @BenXC I have the debug build. Just don't know how to open the menu.
L1+R1+O or Hold O and press R1 (Playstation controller Layout), hope that helps :)
At 7:59 the room is called Clogged Bog. I don’t recognize that room type. Any idea what it is?
Also idk if this is in the coding but for some reason every first hammer hood I befriend ( not on skellatraz) shows up as a fat rat and has the icon, but still looks like a hammerhood
Strange, you must have found some sort of rare bug.
Is there a place in the game to know at what % u are ? Bc i had to start all over again since i got so few items and achievments that i didnt get my island at the end.....and had only 2pages in the inventory.....
Can i ask? How to use binnoculars at switch??? What should i press ..
When you completed all tablet targets just push in the left analog stick, this will switch the game to the buildnocular-mode.
@@BenXC so i must finish all my tablet target??? I just finish to get magic pencil . And start to build farm using your guide heheheheh
Why I can't super-comment your channel ? to give money ?
Hey, you're the first to ask that 😅 honestly I don't really know how that works. Maybe there's a button for channel membership or something. Though I know I have some infos inside my channel page for Paypal donations and stuff, I think 🤔
I was wondering if Ps4 has the same FPS as a PC in big huge city builds? Or is it better on PC?
It all depends on your hardware. So if you got a PC with high end specs you can expect 60fps anywhere you go ^^
Anybody got a great castle to replace the junk that moonbrookers left
Is there going to be dqb3!!💓????
Can you make a blueprint of one of the developer houses ?
Should be possible
Du bist so hart Deutsch :D
Oh ja, Los Atzos :D
I have a bug on pc, I can't sleep anywhere. I did everything to fix it but no change. Someone have an idea Why?
What happens when you try to sleep?
@@BenXC I go out to the bed instatly. I can't sleep anywhere even outside I can't sleep. And when i go out to the bed without sleep, nothing happen. There is no monster near to me, etc
@@Sashisan other than trying it at night I don't know what the problem might be. But maybe someone here can help or in google.
@@BenXC It was because I change the input to my controller. It make the game buggy xD
can this be done on ps4?
Unfortunately not. As far as I know the debug version only exists on PC.
@@BenXC technically we could save on the island and transfer the save to ps4, if we can use other savefiles.
So no more new dlc :(
While you visit the developers islands, I visit yours a couple time for idea lol.
I know I wanna build Hogwarts castle, yet I have also so many ideas, yet even then, I visit some islands to have more, which doesn't help lol
