I know electric cars are coming and they are super quick, but nothing beats the engine sounds!!
i understand phasing out most consumer point A to point B 3-6 cylinders that sound like crap anyway. but enthusiast vehicles like TT v8's, v10s and such should never die. theyre so expensive and only so many people can afford them anyway so itll never clog and pollute too much.
I quite often find myself feeling jealous of you Joe and none more than now. That looked absolutely epic mate. And what an engine sound! My God we’re going to miss combustion engine exhaust sounds in a few years time 🙈

I feel like the value of such cars will start growing as soon as they won’t be produced anymore and everything goes full electric. Who knows, maybe it’s a good investment. It is such a great piece of engineering. Interesting the future of 911
Joe, another great review. Love the R8, it's an attainable supercar on the used market. Drove one in Austin, TX at the Audi Driving Experience, fell in love with it.
When it's gone for good it's then we will mourn it's passing and really appreciate how good it was. A truly epic, Iconic car. Thanks for the video Joe.
Awesome video Joe, picked my first Audi R8 V10 Plus last week, all be it not brand new but a 68 plate, oh my god what a car, also bought it as an investment, great video!!!!
I've heard so many people saying these big engines will die out "soon" like 10 years ago. All I've seen happen since since is downsizing of hot saloons and hot hatches but at the higher end or supercar level the engines seem to be as big as ever. Not complaining, but I think these sorts of engines will be around for at least another decade.

Mega car. I still prefer the pre facelift design of this current generation though. I believe I’m correct in saying those cars don’t get the OPF either. Which is nice.

@@BudaFZ Yes, drilling oil out of the earth, refining it and transporting it in tankers on roads to store as petroleum in big tanks is much better. Really we should still be riding on horses and living in caves.

I am still puzzled and jealous.....not because of the car, I got my own 2022 RWD just a month ago but because of the following issue.......you said you are 6'4". I am 6'0", 185 lbs. Very normal build. Last weekend I went to buy a helmet......I tried not less than 8 different helmets, ranging from $250 to $2,000. I tried all the helmets they had in my size. Even with the seat at its lowest position (BTW......I have the same red stitching in mine and it is absolutely beautiful) I don't feel 100% comfortable knowing that the helmet is less than 1 inch away from the roof. I settled the issue for a Bell K-1 Sport. Not 100% happy but I hope a good compromise. I would like to hear your comment about it.

hello. The R8 is my favorite car, regardless of generation. The 2008 and 2021 models look the best. Nothing sounds better than a V10. It's a shame that the future R8 will not have a V10. I have a question. If the R8 gives up the V10, what will happen to the future Huracan? Will it also be electric ... or hybrid? I hope it's at least hybrid ... I don't like electric cars. They have no character at all ... for me it doesn't matter that they are fast. Congratulations for the sincerity of the reviews. Good luck

👏👏👏Another great video as usual mate. Question is, with practicality out of the equation, would you do a straight swap with your G80? Personally I wouldn’t, but even though the Lambo and Audi share the same DNA, I would take the Performante all day long.

My favourite car of all time
if you could only have one road car, just for fun, this or your manual M2 comp or a manual GTS 4.0 Joe? genuine question from a manual loving enthusiast. I ask because I LOVE that v10 (drove a few), but the R8 is such a big wide car with poor clearance and NO manual..maybe the M2 or GTS 4.0 are actually more fun as road cars in a city environment? I am cross-shopping the GTS 4.0 vs 2018 to 2017 R8 V10 (no manual)

Too powerful for the public roads? Absolutely. Just took the wife's 595C out for a blast this sunny afternoon. I had more fun than I could ever have had on UK roads, than in that £150k R8 V10 Performance. Period.

They should have never made their signature blades smaller. Car looks much better and distinctive with the early larger side blades of the originals.

We simply have to come up with alternative fuel to keep IC engines alive. Porsche has already done this with synthetic fuels so they can keep the next gen gt3 a high revving IC. This world of EVs is a pretty grim, dull one. They are so impractical too! As much as I’m a huge Audi fan boy, I can’t stand the R8. Happily walk past one and not turn back around to look at it. Each to their own but not for me
Interesting. I find it their most interesting car and think thank for every other model in their lineup, I’d prefer a BMW or Merc every time.
Love the R8 but it still amazes me that nowadays we can buy a full four seat four door with a large boot saloon car with equally devastating performance.
Aside from that v10 and its all round looks its hard to justify its existence

Ugh... so you are looking forward to not being able to hear that amazing V10 anymore? The EV version will be 200-300kg's heavier and not have the same driving dynamics.

Be honest with yourself. If you had over £100K to spend on a new car, would you buy this? For a start, it looks as though it's been cut and shut. Then there's the cheap looking over-styled front end. Wow, what a complete recovery of R&D rip-off.
