It's a lot better steering than a Wrangler on the road. A non-issue for me. The long wheel base helps that and it's still decent off road unless your into heavy rock crawling IMO. The best of both worlds.
Good Australian review of my dream ute. If it misses out on a 5 star safety rating because it doesn’t have lane assist nor automatic steering then that is a positive not a negative.
Agree. Since when did we need computers to steer for us? It would be interesting to see proper data on whether or not these systems actually reduce crashes. Thanks for watching 👍
Excellent review, I’m liking the new format where you’re now in the video. Also , wranglers and gladiators… just the best. They are enthusiast cars, not appliances like most brands.
Well done mate. A comprehensive report on all aspects of the vehicle. Not a vehicle that I would be interested in, but really appreciate the time and effort you put into your reviews.
Im looking for a Mohave,it rides and handles better on road. With the dual fox shocks it has hydraulic bump stops. It has only a rear locking diff and no sway disconnect but it has 1 inch more ground clearance but that's great for me. which is all I need. Both are great depending your needs.im putting larger Faulkin AT tires in it too. Good review!
I would roll up on a funeral with it, even with the tops off. I am in the US , just bought. a. 24 Hydro Blue Rub X Gladiator. Trade my 23 Solor Octane Tacoma Pro for it. love the Gladiators , didnt care for the Tacoma. Engine/tranny horrible. Gladitor is smooth. I agree about the turning, even at very slow speed feels like front tire are grabbing as if in 4WD. Nice run down of the 23 Gladiator. Fun to see a review from outside the US. I am going to name my Gladitor "The Blue Ute" , love you all in Australia call these type vehicles a Ute BJ
The safety ding, not a big deal don't need lane assist, I have that on my Honda Accord, I don't use it, actually despise it. I do have blind spot and other stuff, the Ute is safe for me.😊
@@mattyoz0 I’d like to buy one but a bit too expensive for what it is. If they were cheaper it would make it very tempting. And maybe a switch to the 2.0T engine like in the Wrangler, more low end torque etc. How much are they up for?
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia ohhh okay I see. It’s fairly common to drive on public roads without doors in America. I’m definitely gonna look for that in my manual.
There is a note in my Wrangler's manual that the doors are only there to keep the weather out. They offer little intrusion protection, that is what the roll cage and the rock sliders are for.

Yep, agree. Long wheelbase definitely helps with stability.
The Falken AT tires that came standard are a lot quieter for daily road over the MT tires, but they'll dig and bite in when you need

Thanks for the feedback. I'll aim to keep them a bit shorter/punchier in the future - this one was longer than I anticipated.
Great review, mate - perfect whip for playing soliders... just watch out for snipers !
Haha, yes, just need the Sarge Green.
Thanks for watching.

Do i buy one? 3 new ones sitting at a local dealer at a good price.

Great review mate. is the 4H auto like the super select 2 on the tritons which you can drive on hard surfaces?
Yep, sure is.
Is there proximity keyless entry ?
This example didn't have it. Might be different overseas etc.
Did you not get the eco diesel option available? Its about equal hp to the pentastar, but about double the torque
No diesel in Australia, unfortunately.
Unfortunate, but makes sense. The diesel is a tight fit and there's a lot of stuff going on that'd be in the way on a RHD
Not that heavy, my Fortuner is 2148 kg
Yeah, I mainly mean in a good way, for towing 👍
Bloody expensive, i think a Raptor would put a bigger smile on your dial 😅
BAJA mode
They don’t let Australians drive without doors on public roads? That’s a dumb law considering motorcycles. Maybe your community can get that changed.
It says it in the Jeep manual, so it might be applicable in other regions too?
