Pull the barrel to clean it. Every time. Without exception. That is how the solvent is getting into the gas system and melting the buffer. It is weeping thru the gas ports. Also run a pipe cleaner thru the gas ports to remove the solvent hiding there before reinstalling the barrel. They are a beautiful gun with a fatal flaw. Just monitor the gas system condition and keep it clean and dry. If you clean out the gas piston chamber with solvent, just dry it well before reinstalling it. No,the gas system does not need light lube to run well. If you have to clean up the mess a melted rubber buffer makes, you will understand that.
These are under rated and are superbly built
They are and this 1 had been tucked away for far too long.
Nice!
