My friend bought the Mach-E two years ago. I bought the Tesla MYLR at almost the same time. We have different preferences what we want from a car. We both like our cars, so do our families and neither of us would switch with the other or go back to ICE.
I’m driving ICE or at most, a hybrid, until the supposed solid state batteries with 600-700 mile range and 10 minute charging comes out. And oh yeah, much better EV infrastructure than today. I’ll check back in 2030 and see where we’re at.
Mach E has the build quality, looks and more premium feel. Model Y has the info system and charging network (in the US). So if you live in the US and can't charge at home/do road trips often then Model Y is a better choice even though its lacking in most other areas.
Mach-E is one of the best looking EVs on the road, a road that is a sea of monolithic Teslas. It’s comfortable inside and more than capable of road-tripping. I will take a slight hit on range for a car with actual style.

Although not in the market for a new car now. The Mach E is so tempting. I rented one last year and I really enjoyed it. Ford really did a good job with it imo.
Owned a '22 Mach-E GT Perf Edition for over 2 years. We have been seeing more range since a sw update over the summer. It's been a pretty reliable experience and the car doesn't disappoint. Careful on the EV incentive. For some reason, it's categorized as a station wagon by the EPA and not an SUV so it doesn't qualify for EV rebate in the US. Makes no sense. I have no idea why Ford wouldn't argue that categorization unless at some point they were the ones who categorized it for crash, insurance or some other reason... Ford was wise to lower the sticker price due to the lack of incentive.
The reason the Mustang Mach-E does not qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit is because its batteries are not made in the U.S. The LFP batteries are made in China and I believe the NMC batteries are made in Poland. It has nothing to do with if it's categorized as a SUV or not (which I believe it is).
Nice updates and pricing , it's a decent car just wasn't worth the almost $60k MSRP at the top end though Ford will discount these. I'm glad they offered ventilated seats, now they just need to add tilt which is missing for some reason (probably cost). Ford also needs to add the new Google based infotainment system both the Mach-E and Lighting - Sync 4 can be a bit laggy. The premium & GT are worth buying if you can get a decent deal which you probably can.
I think an economical strategy would be to buy a model with doesn't have great range that has the possibility the battery pack can be changed out as new chemistries roll out. I would expect to keep a car for at least 10 years. It would be nice to replace the battery pack with a cheaper, newer pack with better range as prices fall. Any ideas which brand (not Tesla) is the most likely? Have the Chinese planned for this scenario?
This new pricing sounds great. Especially the discount on their Blue Cruise autonomous driving. I might need to take the plunge and get a new Ford soon!
Quick observation. You said you would pick the new Model Y because of the supercharger network. Fair enough, but the Fords can use the supercharger network. How does that affect your thinking?
As a Mach e owner the answer isn’t that simple. Not every tesla charging station is open and when you do find one you need to fine a section where there are two unoccupied spaces because the charge port is on the wrong side. I still leave the ford at home and take my model y on road trips

Electricity cuts across an entire nation. A capital rationing water. A mayor encouraging people to shower together to save precious drops. The world’s largest river system, the Amazon, which sustains some 30 million people across eight countries, is drying up. A record-breaking drought that is well into its second year is punishing much of South America, including the Amazon rainforest, upending lives and local economies and providing an alarming glimpse into the future as the effects of climate change become more apparent. In Brazil, wildfires fueled by searing heat and prolonged dry conditions have consumed vast swaths of forest, wetlands and pastures, with smoke spreading to 80 percent of the country. It has led to canceled classes, hospitalizations and a black dust coating the inside of homes. To the south, in Paraguay, the Paraguay River has hit new lows. Ships are stranded and fishermen say their most valuable quarry - including the enormous surubí catfish - have all but disappeared, forcing many people to look for work elsewhere to feed their families. With much of South America dependent on hydropower, electricity production has plunged. In Ecuador, people are enduring energy cuts of up to 14 hours per day, knocking out the internet and sapping the country’s economy. In Colombia’s capital, Bogotá, the government is cutting water to residential homes at regular intervals and the mayor has suggested that people “bathe as a couple” to reduce consumption. Long sections of the Amazon River have turned into dry, brown beaches, and officials are dredging sections to make them deeper.
In fact, the Model e division (which includes all Ford EVs) lost just as much as the entire company gained. According to Bloomberg, Ford is now losing $100,000 on every EV it sells. That's not sustainable.

USD 35,000 discount seems to be appropriate.
And ford is losing money on it
My problem with the Mach-E is the style. It's like a long Ford Focus with a Mustang front end. it's neither a good hot hatch nor a good muscle car. How they ever thought taking an iconic Ford car and turning it into a Model Y knock-off would ever work is beyond me.
Bathing together 😂
All doomsday nonsense.
It's SCIENCE, liar!!
When it comes to design, the Mustang is so much more appealing than the Model Y. I would rather the Mach E anyway because Elon Trump is a pig.
What a horribly negative comment. Seek professional help.
@@chrispapanastasopoulos9192 😀😀😀. Get well soon.
It’s a Ford, could be free and thousands would still say no
Do Fords still come with a Lobotomy 😂
The model y year over year sales are down 9% and I am using your own evidence against you in your video for the f150 lightning. Prove me wrong.
In fact, the Model e division (which includes all Ford EVs) lost just as much as the entire company gained. According to Bloomberg, Ford is now losing $100,000 on every EV it sells. That's not sustainable.
People are stupid if they don’t get a Tesla just because they don’t like Elon
the prices keep coming down on EVs because no one want's that sh!t.... if they did they wouldn't need to force it on people.
Can't believe the price of the Transit EV here in Australia 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
a bit better still means its still not good
