This is my first wipe and I was guilty of doing lots of Scav runs and low risk PMC routes. But once you realise how easy it is to earn money I feel the solo anxiety isn’t so much and have enjoyed more PVP which in turn helps me improve.
My solo anxiety comes mostly from having to spend so much time matchmaking. When I finally get in the raid I want to survive long enough to make up for the wait time and that means avoiding PVP at the beginning, which is when most of it happens, then playing a boring match against scavs.
Sorry for the necro, but definitely consider installing the game on an ssd, rather than a traditional hard drive. Helps a lot. Also increase the amount of page memory on your non ssd storage. Helps with low ram, but wears out ssds faster than typical use
@@MerrStudio aww yeah, that one hits me too... I load everything in in 2:45, and spend the next 6min "waiting for other players" 😭. Good time to go to the bathroom.
I got into the game solo, learned the game solo and overall prefer solo. It is all about control. This is why I LOVE the 95 bullet drum with 5.45 guns like RPK.
I also want to point out the solo mod. What this allowed me to do is learn the game in semi-safty as you can play the game as intended, or mod it to make it easier, or harder in some cases. Sure you could just run offline raids in the base game but that only gets ya so far. Especially sense there is no progression in offline raids. Now when I decide to come back, I'll be a lot more prepared and ready now that I know the maps, weapons, mods and so on. I suggest anyone new and struggling to go look it up. It honestly has been a blast.
my solo anxiety stems not really from the disadvantage of being alone but moreso that I am so cripplingly indecisive in almost everything ever and for some reason when im with friends I find it alot easier to take up the mantle of a leader
Running my scav has opened the game up for me. I started by just using the rigs from my scavs with some repairs, it also helped with learning the maps. Now Im relatively confident as a solo, even though I basically suck. I love the game, so I suck it up.
from 0:00 to 0:10 described me so unbelievably perfectly for most of the 200 hours I have on the game, I'm not kidding, that was so unbelievably spot on and I'm not proud of it
INSURANCE TIP! One thing you can do is only insure items you'd most likely fraud at some point (for me, thats headsets, helmets, and armors). That way you can do one of either: insure fraud your items and equip the enemy's items for extra loot, or simply ditch your broken gear (a 0 hp Gzhel, for example) and wear your enemy's armor. That way you can repair the Gzhel or simply sell it once it returns back to you.
Guys now that smokes ploom faster and wider, they are actually very good tools to safely(relatively) loot bodies. I would recommend using 2 of the M18 smokes as the cloud of 1 isn't enough to fully cover a good area and the russian ones that prapor sells are just awful. Obviously this isn't full proof, but they won't be expecting it and you might just find yourself in a situation where you need a smoke.
Chronic solo player here. I've pretty much only ever played solo, save for occasionally teaming up with a guy who's just an absolute gigachad player and it always made me feel worse playing with him because I just felt like an anchor. I just slowed him down and picked up the loot he couldn't carry, pretty much. Whenever we got into a fight, I tended to stay back due to being very unconfident and yet somehow I still always got killed first. Due to only really playing solo, I learned to survive first and foremost, which meant avoiding fights, which resulted in me being incredibly bad at PVP. Not only because I didn't get much practice, but also because I tried to stay undetected as long as possible, which meant that when this failed, I was often cornered in a terrible spot. Only now, more than 2000h in, I'm starting to improve in PVP, and it has taken a lot of deliberately forcing myself to take fights which I'd otherwise run away from, as well as also taking in gear I'd otherwise never use unless I was specifically doing a PVP task. For the first wipe ever I'm using an injector case (though I'm still not keeping any stims hotbared. Still a waste of money at my skill level). Your videos have helped a lot in this push for developing my PvP skills. Not so much the tactics and avoiding hesitation and fear part, but rather optimizing my kit and making most of what I have.
Completely the same with me five wipes in. I couldn’t care less if I die and lose gear but getting attacked out of nowhere scares the shit out of me, and then when I can’t pin point where they are I get stressed lol
Hello, As someone who has played tarkov for over 3 years and mostly play solo, I honestly like the solo playstyle the best. The best way I have found to play solo is to ambush and outsmart the enemies. Wait for a clear shot and if you can’t then stalk the targets. Take advantage of any situation enemies come across, and if you get in a tight spot, just run -> rotate -> ambush again or simply leave at any time you want. One of my favorite things is that squad or duo players will almost never leave their friends stuff behind. So although its looked down upon by some if you kill one member of the enemy squad and can line up a shot on the body it is almost always a free 2 for 1 deal. Squads also feel predictable because they wont walk to far away from their teammates, so if you spot one, you can with good map knowledge guess the others’ location. This also includes if they want to flank it is predictable where they will go. Playing solo I feel like you can have so much control of a fight. You should pick then when and where etc, but then again it is important to use this to its full advantage while fighting squads, you can’t just 1v1v1v1v1 a whole squad. As a solo always remember that you have full control over you own position and should be able to choose when and where to fight. If you get surprised run, come back if you want when you have control. Play of the weakness of squads with their communication, close proximity and their necessity to save or help their friends. And last but not least their ego and greed to hunt down a little solo player. Solo is like a rouge playstyle, lay traps, ambushes, make it painful to follow you when you retreat, instead of brute forcing every problem just clicking on heads. (at least that’s how I play it) It’s important to change up your gear depending on how you play as a solo, if you die its almost guarantee its lost unless its cheap stuff. It feels rewarding to play solo, because if you wipe a squad then great job, a 1 vs many in tarkov always feels great, however just escaping a chonky 4-man team while they spend 100k in grenades trying to find you also feels like a victory.
2nd wipe , lvl 42 and this is still me lmao. I just hate losing as a solo but It so much fun losing or winning with a duo or more. I am always on the tarkov discord trying to get a group.
4th wipe last two I’ve been a solo player. It was a little scary at first. Look at online maps for pmc spawns so you aren’t nearly as jumpy . I personally enjoy solo I think it’s more rewarding.
Took me two or three wipes to get confident as a solo player. I used to play a lot of squads, but the comms was always our weakness, despite the lack of other pairs of eyes/ears, so I'm actually happier and more successful as a solo.
Well, you got me down to a T. My first day in Tarkov a year ago, I went to Factory and lost my entire starter stash after a few runs. Never picked it up again.
Double tap R reload is invaluable in 1vX fights. When playing solo I first took a pistol until i felt like the gun was holding me back rather than map knowledge.
I have overcomed the solo anxiety by having and extreme good economy. I have managed to make ultra high profit and safe loot runs in lighthouse at night time with scav and pmc, that I have been around 80million roubles since midwipe. Once I got over +50 millions, the solo anxiety dissapeared. Yesterday I losed 2 mk18, 1 mutant and 1 RSASS + all tier 5 equipment and i dont even care. So guys, try to find good loot runs so you know you can make enough money to buy everything you have lost. Trust me, dying in this game and dont getting worried is the best experience ever. Now I always look for PVP, I even get into raids without backpack. If you are interested in the loot runs: SCAV: 2 houses in the moutain, the village and leaving in path to shoreline. If you dont find enough loot, you can enter the Rogue camp. PMC: Same but with keys. Once you have reached the lightkeeper, you just need to loot the lightkeeper. You can make +1million rouble per round. And remember... ALL OF THIS AT NIGHT TIME. Good luck!
I almost always play alone. Id say playing in a group makes me more nervous because I'm more likely to be surprised from not being able to tell who is who or what footsteps are who's. That and I started playing solo and its how I'm most comfortable. I can make any decision I want without asking, and if I meet a team, it's really easy to slip away and/or hide.
As a player that plays solo 90% of the time, and helps friends in the other 10%. I hard relate to all the disadvantages to playing with other people. I can clearly think of a friend (or two) for every disadvantage you named.... dear god I wonder why more people don't solo more lol
This is less of an issue when you play in a squad with people that have a lot of solo hours AND a lot of squad hours When I play with the guys (we all have 2k+) it’s basically just easy mode
pre-painkillering is kinda stupid imo, like, not in the game as its a huge "buff" but its a stupid mechanic that I think the devs said they are working on trying to get rid off right?
I hope they get rid of it, I hate doing it. Resisted for a long time but it is insane NOT to pre-pain... so unfortunately I have joined the "meta slaves" 🤣
I've only been playing for about a month but i went in solo and will probably always be a solo player. I had some idea of what i was in for though so I'm always kinda amused when i hear others talk about solo anxiety while I'll be over here at level 20 on a Sunday having lost every decent gun I started the weekend with Friday night and just kinda shrug it off. 🤷♀️😅
I'm starting to overcome it by doing a few things (I have 100h, probably 50 in the stash and loading), first I always go into factory with AI and practice with the kit I want to use. I then make sure I have a plan, either to task or to go pvp, lastly I have my ipad with the map open so I can corollate what I see in game to what's on the maps. I think playing solo is the only way to learn this game, last wipe I tried playing with friends the whole time and couldn't really learn anything because I spent most of my time making sure I didn't shoot friendly's.
I am a solo only player with solo anxiety because my last 30 deaths were from AP ammo or Rip ammo. I have no problem with anything else other then that. The best armor I can get is a Class 3 armored rig from ragman but even with that I still tend to get 1 shot because no amount of armor I can get will save me from a full auto m4 or HK. I could look at fence for maybe better armor but even with those I would probably last 2 bullets before that armor is zeroed out.
I always manage to get rid of my solo anxiety for a few days every so often then it comes back. I don’t know why. I have so much money I don’t care if I lose stuff, I just hate dying multiple raids in a row because it knocks my confidence
Well I would add being patient just because someone’s in front of you doesn’t mean you need to shoot them if they havnt noticed you and it’s a group letting them pass and shooting them from behind were they least expect always works for me
This wipe i played mostly solo for this exact goal of beating solo anxiety and i got to level 30 faster then ever before, also what i found is i learn much faster as i make my own pathing instead of following my teammates.
I've played solo for 99.999% of my time playing Tarkov, my survivalrate and KD is always higher when i play solo or with no more than one friend. Playing in big group is just not worth it in my opinion, i cant remember how many times I ran into 4-5 players where i could easily hide or use their sounds to cover my movements. Also, saving someones gear sucks, im not gonna camp someones body for half an hour just to save their gear.
Played solo for 3 wipes and played in a group of 3 to 5 for 1 wipe, can confirm solo is more enjoyable and the pvp fights are more satisfying also the loot doesn’t get vacuumed up by teammates
I have the opposite anxiety: nearing the end of my very first wipe, one of my goals for the 2nd wipe is team up with someone. But I'm so twitchy now that I fear I'll TK anybody I run with. Solo ride until I die (and die and die and die...)
I'm exactly the opposite. I've only ever played solo. I'm very accustomed to getting killed in very unfair ways, it's just part of the solo experience really. I have anxiety about teaming up with people though. Because I've only ever played solo I'm sure my communication skills will be terrible. I feel like playing with a team would either be me getting carried or me just carrying someone else.
Originally I would have said I 100% had gear fear. But now I've noticed that I dont really enjoy ANY MP games flying solo. I actually end up getting bored without shenanigans ensuing 😂
That's exactly what I do, and I have no friends. I scav and play with my stash before going into factory with a pm pistol, 2 extra mags, a bank robber, and a sling. If I have 2-3 good scav runs I might buy a paca and a shotgun.
All my friends are american and i am a european, i am stuck playing solo or i get kicked from the match for ping I still can do 1v2's and drop most people in 1v3. But its so painful when you pull off such a killstreak just to have more and more people come at you and give me no breather to heal
SPT is a great way to get over the anxiety and gear fear, so long as you keep it pretty vanilla it's a great trainer. Just don't get sucked into only playing SPT or too much modding if you ever intend to go back to normal tarkov.
The only problem I have when playing solo is not having anyone to talk to. I used to 5 man squad my first wipe, second wipe I used to 3 man. and now I only like to Duo for PvP, and Solo for quest and money runs. I have 4 wipes and about 3k hours and got kappa this wipe. I just started not to like how the comms got on squads during PvP.
Been playing solo a lot more recently since my duo quit for this wipe. On a 11 survival streak and so far have killed 8 players, gained 4 quad nods and 2 Flir's. I kinda feel bad for the two i killed on woods last night as they had a quad and flir each on M4's with 56a1 and both got head tapped before they even shot me once near sawmill. Only issue with playing solo is it can seriously fuck you ability to communicate when you play with others, like ill work out a name for something that makes total sense to me after 40 solo matches of say shoreline, but my teammate wont understand it at all
My problem is that i cannot complete early quests because of radar hackers in this game. Whenever i bring my good gear i lose it all and im not even over lvl 10 yet. I can't actually set up properly for woods as all the scopes etc are not available so im stuck with shitty weapons vs sniper chads. Getting spawn camped on woods fkn sucks when i just want to complete the damn quest.
Don't try to get rid of anxiety. Just play. Everything will fall into place when you're ready for it. Trying to be a chad when you're not is just going to be counter-productive. Don't force it.
As a person that mainly only plays labs starting from my first wipe I think solo anxieties comes from the fact that I got one tapped by cheaters way too often LOL
Talking to women is easy. Just don't talk to them solely because you want sex and don't be a creep. Granted a lot of men can't seem to figure out how to do those things but it's not that complicated.
@@Vivi2372 Or just do it. My friend asked me how I got my gf, I literally just walked up and started talking. Some aren't interested but just keep your head up
Can really recommend to play solo...imho its how the game feels like intended. Playing with a squad should really only be used to teach newbies. Playing with a half descend squad feels like cheating. Groups a completely of balance...feels like easy roflstomp cheese mode. No risk involved..item hiding or trading back. You cant really loose Wish we had group servers to have a challenge...maybe we would play in a group again. But for now...solo only, lvl 51 atm, 58% survival. Im getting there ;-)
Does anyone else here just not use traditional painkillers? I'll use them until I get access to stims at level 15, but the second I hit flea market that space in my container gets replaced with an injector case filled with 2-3 extra propitol. After that I always have a propitol hotkeyed every single raid. Even when I'm broke as shit I cough up the cash for an extra propitol. Might just be standard edition account things, there's not enough space in a beta container for a second source of PKs. Even if I had the space I'd rather take an extra stack of ammo. Any other vaseline haters in here?
i have played 15 raids, all solo, i had survived non... idk if been a lvl 5 player in this state of the game is good idea or i just have to go prone the all game lol
How do i get over the feeling of deep seated regret that engulfs me when I contemplate the 5000 hours of my life I've spent in this horrendous game...?
I just don’t play the game solo anymore I am capable of playing solo I just straight up don’t enjoy it like playing with the homies I’d rather play hunt solo, or marauders, or CS, or COD, or Halo Like any other game is better solo than Tarkov honestly
My solo anxiety comes from time wasted when killed, and I'm not sure how to get over it. Plenty of money, been around for 4 or 5 wipes now, but damn if I don't want to waste time.
@@SinBlancaiser won't really help cuz you can't make a preset that uses the random stuff in my stash. maybe its good if you are running the same kit over and over again. i don't really use weapon presets for the same reason
I don't have solo anxiety because of past experiences, I have it because of my past losses. (PLEASE I DONT WANNA LOSE MY LEVEL 6 SLICK PLATE CARREIR PLEASEE)
for me, the cure was treating tarkov like any other game like bf4 or gta 5 (where i could loose and just laugh at it), and not like a job, where every lost fight would have an impact on me. my roubles went from 20mil to 500k in 3 days, but damn im having lots of fun killing random players, then dying to their friends

I always manage to get rid of my solo anxiety for a few days every so often then it comes back. I don’t know why. I have so much money I don’t care if I lose stuff, I just hate dying multiple raids in a row because it knocks my confidence
Well I would add being patient just because someone’s in front of you doesn’t mean you need to shoot them if they havnt noticed you and it’s a group letting them pass and shooting them from behind were they least expect always works for me
very good giga 👌 such a great vid on late wipe
1st wipe, approx 1 and a half months left to next wipe
I've stocked up slicks, barters for Zabralo and everything else. Now im just trying to have fun
This wipe i played mostly solo for this exact goal of beating solo anxiety and i got to level 30 faster then ever before, also what i found is i learn much faster as i make my own pathing instead of following my teammates.
Great vid as always man, keep it up
Cheers!
They have merely adopted the solo que.. I was born in it..
That's exactly what I do, and I have no friends. I scav and play with my stash before going into factory with a pm pistol, 2 extra mags, a bank robber, and a sling. If I have 2-3 good scav runs I might buy a paca and a shotgun.
I don't have solo anxiety, I have build a new kit and wait for a new queue anxiety lol.
All my friends are american and i am a european, i am stuck playing solo or i get kicked from the match for ping
I still can do 1v2's and drop most people in 1v3.
I have been playing solo for the last 3 wipes. I am the anxiety they feel, i am fear.
headeyes
Only issue with playing solo is it can seriously fuck you ability to communicate when you play with others, like ill work out a name for something that makes total sense to me after 40 solo matches of say shoreline, but my teammate wont understand it at all
Sick thx
My issue with solo play is lack of map knowledge like woods for example i dont even know where any of the exfil points are or how to get to them
i love solo pmc'ing. i dont have to worry about not killing teammates.
Hello. My name is James and I sat in a bush for 20mins today paralysed by fear.
My heart was beating so hard couldn't hear the game audio.
2:17 THATS ME :D
"Ok picture this, we killed one player..." I have to stop you right there, because this won't happen for me for the next 100+ hours.
Dudeeee, I watch a lot of self help videos on RUclips, when I clicked this video I got crazy after watching you destroying someone´s legs
Don't try to get rid of anxiety. Just play. Everything will fall into place when you're ready for it. Trying to be a chad when you're not is just going to be counter-productive. Don't force it.
I have no friends to play tarkov with so, I am anxiety itself
2:38 imma start talking to teammates that arent there
As a person that mainly only plays labs starting from my first wipe I think solo anxieties comes from the fact that I got one tapped by cheaters way too often LOL
I died more often when I was with my teammates rather than solo. Solo i is actually freedom in certain way.
imagine having anxiety.
(this vid help me a lot)
We need these but for talking to women
Talking to women is easy. Just don't talk to them solely because you want sex and don't be a creep.
Granted a lot of men can't seem to figure out how to do those things but it's not that complicated.
@@Vivi2372 Or just do it. My friend asked me how I got my gf, I literally just walked up and started talking. Some aren't interested but just keep your head up
My problem is that I don't really care about the experience if I have nobody to share with. So I end up never playing solo.
@2:20 I am that guy
my only problem with pre meding is that it ruings my frams on most maps i just cant justify losing 30 fps when i only have around 70
Im getting there ;-)
That intro.....it's like you fucking no me dude lol.
When arena comes out, I can practice cqc fights, which is what Im really bad at. But bsg is taking an eternity with it.
2:17 BRO I HAVE A TEAM MATE WHERE WE PLAYED 3 RAIDS IN 3 HOURS ALL IN FACTORY AND HIS NAME IS LITERALLY "That guy"
learn that most pvp in tarkov is getting head tapped by somebody you’ll never see
i have played 15 raids, all solo, i had survived non... idk if been a lvl 5 player in this state of the game is good idea or i just have to go prone the all game lol
How do i get over the feeling of deep seated regret that engulfs me when I contemplate the 5000 hours of my life I've spent in this horrendous game...?
Cries in solo labs
It's me, I'm 'that guy'
Allways theres one more applys to every game, and it will be the healer if the game have revives mechanics.
I just don’t play the game solo anymore
I am capable of playing solo I just straight up don’t enjoy it like playing with the homies
I’d rather play hunt solo, or marauders, or CS, or COD, or Halo
Like any other game is better solo than Tarkov honestly
rogue games need to be played in a hit retreat and repeat gamestyle
Best video - I only play solo
My solo anxiety comes from time wasted when killed, and I'm not sure how to get over it. Plenty of money, been around for 4 or 5 wipes now, but damn if I don't want to waste time.
next wipe they will add loadout presets
@@SinBlancaiser won't really help cuz you can't make a preset that uses the random stuff in my stash. maybe its good if you are running the same kit over and over again. i don't really use weapon presets for the same reason
@@squidwardo7074 We dont even know yet how it would work mate XD
i am "that guy" 🐼
Funny, I've literally never played with another person.
Still got plenty of anxiety though
I’ve never played a raid with others. If it moves I shoot it. Often if I don’t like a fight I just Leave.
I don't have solo anxiety because of past experiences, I have it because of my past losses.
(PLEASE I DONT WANNA LOSE MY LEVEL 6 SLICK PLATE CARREIR PLEASEE)
I have the opposite. I got the 5 stack TK anxiety…!
for me, the cure was treating tarkov like any other game like bf4 or gta 5 (where i could loose and just laugh at it), and not like a job, where every lost fight would have an impact on me. my roubles went from 20mil to 500k in 3 days, but damn im having lots of fun killing random players, then dying to their friends
Bro why you always make videos targeting me lol. Appreciate the awesome content.
2:10 I’m that guy
0:41 where tf did that guy come from?
ok now how do I get rid of it irl
"That guy"
I have been playing solo for my 800 hours, it’s ez to clap 2-3 man groups
rewatching...
Ive never played tarkov with other people.
All i need is leg meta
two words. night raids.
