Have been using the priority bleed/heal keybind and the Hold Breath/ADS keybind since your last vid on keybinds. I use the hold-inspect, release-fix bind and it works for me. Great content Giga, thanks! This really helps the community.
Everyone needs to do this type of stuff. Learning to maneuver is a meta in and of itself. This streamlines the complicated mess that is Tarkov. Thank you Gigabeef for your continued content. It is intuitive and relevant to everything we are trying to do! Don’t let Tarkov get you down.
a good reason to bind voicelines is NPC scav cooperation; I tell them to help or spread out and that gives me an indication of where friendly NPC scavs are and having them help me out.
My favorite setup for malfunctions is having inspect on hold and clear malfunction on release. If I’m patient I can clear a jam in one press of a button, but more importantly I can hold the button to inspect and then spam click the button in a panic.
dude i cannot believe that this guy puts press on on 5 and release on 4, literally BACK TO FRONT. made my brain explode and now i need therapy for probably the rest of my life
Hi. I've been using the press/release double bind method for meds for 3 wipes now. That's a huge advantage to not think about what to do, but instead just press a button and let it choose for the needs the bleed has. Of cause, heavy bleeding goes first. GG
I wish we could have a way to specifically heal only thorax or head. Right now if I have a heavy bleed on my arm and a thorax with 2 hp I will lose my thorax by the time I stop the bleed, where I could have just healed it and fixed the bleed later
@@cyandrix You won't have perfection even in RL. Adopt and overcome. Grow on your struggles. The things you don't have control over, just let them go. It's not solvable. Just let it go and move on.
This patch and it's new binds for left shouldering your gun and vaulting made me finally transition from WASD to ESDF to have more keys within my left hands reach while gaming. It was EXTREMELY frustrating for the first few days, but now i can't recommend it more. Not only do you make one more vertical row of keyboard keys available to your left hand, but also it's multitude of combined functions, e.g. CTRL + A or SHIFT + A
I set my reload to R continuous and emergency reload to R release, you’ll definitely drop a few mags at start but it’s saved my life in a few gunfights just hitting R once and getting the faster reload. Then the slower reloads become more deliberate, which is fine in non-emergency situations like a reload from cover.
The way I do my reloads is to have emergency reload on R Release, and regular reload on R Continuous. That means a fast reload is simply a quick tap of the button, and will therefore be the default reload done in combat, but when you're not in combat and just want a regular reload, you can press and hold R. Once the animation starts, you can release the key and your character does nothing as they're already doing a reload. You do have to remember you've done this and retrain your muscle memory though, otherwise you'll find yourself without any mags. :)
But then you lose the ability to hold r-scroll wheel to select mag. I bound fast reload to r, and slow reload to shift-r, that way I can slow reload while sprinting. This also prevents double tap reload delay. I also bound tactical toggle to shift-t additional, so I can sprint turn on/off flashlight.
Binding two meds to one button is actually very clever. I've set this one up now. You don't need to do any funny business when selecting it by the way, you can just drag it to the hotbar at the bottom of the screen.
Oh this is neat! They call these "option selects" in fighting games, where you can just input a thing and the only the most applicable thing happens. Never thought of doing it using Tarkov inputs!
Im using the forward and back buttons on my G502 as my left and right lean, then both together for shoulder swap. Works really well as they get used together constantly
@@TheCypher19 Similar to what I do with mouse wheel tilt. Tilt right is discard items, tilt left is tac device on/off, control+tilt left cycles device modes.
Great vid. To me, my biggest pet peeve when it comes to watching other streamers is how a good portion of them STILL "right click -> Discard" to drop items. My god, it drives me nuts lol. Literally just rebind the key and it's an instant drop from your bag. I have mine set my one of my mouse keys so it makes looting and dropping shiz real fast.
I have mine on shift+click, that way all inventory actions (pick up, equip, discard) are on 3 keys right next to each other that are easy to hit (ctrl, alt, and shift) and left click
mine is on mouse 3 + LMB.. so if i drag something to loot (lets say ear pro) with my LMB i just add mouse 3 while i hover over my item and then just release LMB to equip new item
If you hold your ads you can auto hold breath while aiming just setting your bind in reverse. It works in raid, doesn’t work in hideout shooting range though.
another one is Scroll wheel up/down + LAlt for scope elevation. much easier than page up/down and you can easily do it while aiming without taking hands off mouse or WASD
About the grenades, I'm 99.999% sure it does have a specific order. It starts from left to right in your pockets. And then checks your rig from top left to top right. Always prioritizing pockets.
Personaly I can do some more combinations because I have keyboard that recognies soft and hard clicks but you gived my some ideas that I can change in binds I currently have.
Funny you should mention the left shoulder binding to a mouse scroll wheel. Ive got a Razer Basilisk, where there are buttons for pushing the scroll wheel left and right, and the left side button was free (right side is malfunction inspect and fix) so threw it straight onto that. Works REALLY well.
I've tried binding medkits together with bleed-fixing items a couple wipes ago and I don't think it's a good idea. I've lost way too many thoraxes to not being able to top one up before fixing a heavy bleed. The way I have it now is 4-5-6-7 where 4 is a painkiller, 5 is a medkit, 6 is a splint and 7 is a tourniquet double-bound with a normal bandage. With the sidearm quick-pull, I have them both on the same key: quick pull on release, normal on continuous. That way I can tap the key for a quick pull, or hold it for a normal one if I have the time. The same can also be done for the melee weapon.
For the same keybind heal, there are definitely moments where I'd rather put health in my thorax/head than fix my heavy bleed(s) as either of the two essential body parts are down to
I feel like stopping the bleeds would be better tho. Especially since it takes less time than the healing animation, your limbs will probably black out from a heavy bleed before the animation is done
another one maybe worth mentioning is inverting lean and strafe keys so you can lean and strafe with two fingers rather than trying to press two buttons simultaneously with the same finger, you will have to break and rebuild muscle memory but its pretty decent once youre used to it having should swap on a mouse is basicly required i think when you consider all the other mechanics you may need to press during a shoulder swap like lean, sprint ect, not enough fingers free on left hand
I just gave up on that and put lean on toggle, pressing those buttons is especially hard on my flat key keyboard. Maybe when i get a mechanical/ergo in the future
Very nice. Have been using most of these for a while now. However the one button for swap sling and shoulder gun is a nice new one 👍. I’ve been playing about with check time and exits on same button as crouch as I don’t mind being reminded all the time where I’m going 😂
If you have a full keyboard (aka. you HAVE the numpad section of the keyboard) and easy way to bind something like Left Hand Switching, change the Console button to Num and set the Left Hand to `
There's a better way to fix malfunctions. My friends and I have Inspect weapon on Shift+T (on Pressed if I remember right) and Fix Malfunction on Shift+T (Double Click) This way, you can keep sprinting by holding down shift and you can either click T once, wait for the animation to finish, then double tap T, or you spam T the whole time you're sprinting so you just have to focus on where you're going until your PMC fixes the malfunction. This way is smoother and since you can keep sprinting behind cover or zigzag, you have more chance to survive. Also, most players keep B for switching fire mode too.
How do you handle the underbarrel grenade launchers with your weapon swap setup? As you showed you'd either have to hold 1 while you use it or always have the gun with the UBGL on 2. There doesn't seem to be a specific UBGL key yet.
Really love these, I use a lot of them and never want to change them again! I wonder why you have nothing on 4? I have mine set up so that I have Press and Hold actions for 4 and then press 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 normaly.
I replaced shoulder transitioning to v and changed melee to a letter out of the way as its unimportant. Then I made vaulting set to just control and havent had any issues. The only issue I can see is for people with small hands might not be able to press both control and shift when sprint vaulting. Other than that these are what I recommend
I like to check ammo on a press of a button. That's G for me. Ctrl+z - drop backpack. Z - for clearing mulfunctions. Two sidebuttons on a mouse for grenades and painkillers. And I rebind charging handle - once i'm trying to level up some specific weapon. Pistols for example. Or sniper rifles.
I bound the shoulder swap to both of my mouse keys on the sides which is working wonders for me, only real problem with this is that I sometimes automatically hold my breath (because one of the mouse keys are bound to it) when aiming in and swapping shoulders but this has not been a problem for me.
You can hold ADS and hold breath with RMB - unless I’m somehow mistaken. I have my aim set to RMB continuous and hold breath to RMB press, and my blue breath bar drains the entire time I’m ADS.
the blue bar is not really breath, it's your "arm" stamina, or aiming stamina I guess. it always goes down whenever you are aiming down sights, determined by your ergo
i've tried the hold press / ads bind before but i felt it caused more problems than it was worth since moving cancels hold breath and i could never tell if i accidentally cancelled breathing or not.
what? 😂 how can it cause more problems.. if u ads and dont move u steady aim insta and if u move and stop u just reactivate it with, lets say, shift.. i do it like that
I know fast reload drops your current mag on the ground, so is there a downside to quick swapping to pistol? If not, why would I ever need the regular swap?
I have shoulder swap set to ` because console key is easy to rebind to something like control + ` and it made sense to me / was easily accessible. Also have vault set to control for continuous; let's me just run into any vaultable service with the button held ahead of time. Also have hold breath toggle on Shift because you're never really hitting that while sighted in anyway unless you really do need to sprint somewhere.
My easiest solution to new buttons was, shoulder swap on mousewheel up, and jump on mousewheel down (which I was used to from counter strike). That way you still have your snappy jump, and rolling your mousewheel is very natural for shoulder swap.
Is space bar unused at that point? I prefer shoulder swap side mouse button, discard side mouse button, voip middle mouse button and keep scroll wheel default for covert scrolling on the fly Death adder elite btw
i see many people don't use bandages at all, dunno why. what i have is the same press+release on one button to remove both bleeds. i put it on "5" - press for heavy and release for light bleeds (normally just green 2/2 bandage). And "4" for heals, whatever that would be. i don't run double Salewas or anything, so using healing points to remove light bleeds isn't optimal for me personally. (or sometimes i just use grizzle, for around 30k you also get fracture removing stuff which is quite nice). i also rebind "toggle console" from "~" in most games and normally set it to F8. good tip about that "O double-press" -- i'm so used to it, but it still annoys me tbh :D
I don't use the hotkey for heals like that, because I prefer having control on what I'm doing, I use ctrl + space for vault, mouse 4 for shoulder swap, which was the default for me but felt super intuitive. I love using shoulder swap as it kinda reflects my playstyle in airsoft irl, where I switch hands for peaking angles. It just feels natural and second nature now.
Ive tried the body part select heal and following all videos ive tried it still never gives me the drop down list. Dont know what im doing wrong but I would definitely use it if i coulf
As long as 2 binds are using the same key it will have the delay, as it stands regular reloads are slightly slower and speed reloads are faster and you probably dont want to swap that. But yes you could rebind them that way if you wanted
I haven't fixed my hotkeys in like 3 wipes. All the added features at this point are all stacked together and it's a mess lol. Hopefully I find some time to fix them

Why dont do the press and release thing on shoulder swap lean
Ctrl + space works well for left lean as well 👍
Ive tried the body part select heal and following all videos ive tried it still never gives me the drop down list. Dont know what im doing wrong but I would definitely use it if i coulf
a) The key the med is on has to be on press b) The drop down doesn't appear unless you use the scroll wheel specifically, and have damage I think
Ddint know about single melee attack bind, ty
For fix malf I use check on L on press and fix malfunction on release L so just hold the key until the malfunction is diagnosed then let go
Yeah that's the other way to do it - I prefer the way I have it set up but loads of people do it your way as well :)
how am i gonna remember all of this to redo it every time my game crashes xD
Nice Video :) Still cant understand how people can double bind things with ctrl/strg.. 7:25 Emergency Reload and crouch spaming or what xD ?
Could you just bind normal reload to double tap R and emergency reload to single tap R. So you only get a delay for normal reloads?
As long as 2 binds are using the same key it will have the delay, as it stands regular reloads are slightly slower and speed reloads are faster and you probably dont want to swap that. But yes you could rebind them that way if you wanted
Thanks!!
I haven't fixed my hotkeys in like 3 wipes. All the added features at this point are all stacked together and it's a mess lol. Hopefully I find some time to fix them
