5300+ hours here, and I've gotta say, I think the first 19 days without flea no matter what this wipe was some of the most fun I've had in a long time in Tarkov
I find it VERY strange that right now you can sell things that arent found in raid. Its so strange you can buy a marked key with 2 uses, go plant your marker and sell it for the same price. You can literally RENT keys paying only the tax to repost it. It goes against everything BSG has said in the past. I don't get it lol
I think it would be fun to able to maybe barter items or at least be able to buy some low items for bartering at traders or for being able to craft stuff, so casuals don't get stuck on their early stuff. We really need to uphold a casual playerbase!
I trade no flea for buffed loot spawns on maps and adding more POI to parts of maps that are completely fucked IE the entire upper floor of interchange and most of the parking garage
Interchange is a huge contender for my favorite map. Seeing an image of a fully stocked KIBA in PVE just made me really bummed. The second floor of ULTRA is completely pointless for loot.

No bs you are the first person I’ve heard agree with me the flee ruins the game every player has meta guns armor and ammo before it was fun not knowing what the dude was gonna have or be running now it’s 1 of 5-6 guns and the same attachments
Best thing to do is have it locked till like 3 weeks into the wipe but once you get early wipe done the big chads have level 4 anyway. Scav running is hundreds of thousands per hour and the alternative is sifting through 1000 jackets and files on Shoreline
An interesting suggestion I heard was to lock flea market behind the stash upgrades, and make it very ruble-expensive to unlock. Also make flea market items level-locked. Then over time reduce the cost of unlocking which allows more players to unlock it and hopefully takes away a large amount of money from the best players, slowing down their progression if they do want to unlock it.
I have noticed that before the flea market was up I was having much better fights and much more fun. Now I’m running into guys with top tier armor and ammo.
the price difference is what makes the traders worth it aswell. I also think raids still feel rewarding as you can sell things for lots of money to then purchase things.
There really is no need for flea market as a game mechanic in the perfect world Tarkov. Its a bandaid solution for other problems. It by itself does not generate any form of engaging gameplay or otherwise enjoyable experiences. In fact the flea market is a chore to use. Its yet another laggy UI element layered on top of other laggy UI elements that you interface with instead of playing the actual game. But the game has grown so dependant on it with how rare some keys are. They really should just make most quest keys guaranteed spawns in specific locations or add barters for all of them and also adjust some quests like a few of the early gunsmiths that require LL4 traders to get the attachments if you dont have flea. After that, we no longer have any need for flea, because beyond buying keys, the only function of the flea is to make you money and get better gear. If BSG feels as if they need to make the player obtain money easier, they dont need flea to achieve it, just buff loot spawns or something. *Make the game be played in the actual raid, not in some dumb stock market menu* Thats another thing. It really ruins Tarkov thematically. It changes the game from feeling like my PMC is trying to survive in a conflict zone, to feeling like my PMC is some fucking stock broker at wall street

This wipe was absolutely miserable before the flea, I had to stop playing once they extended the period another 5 days. Even with the unheard edition my stash was completely full of shit I knew I shouldn’t sell to traders, yet often I had to because even though I was level 18, there was no flea. The flea market is absolutely integral to Tarkov and its player base and removing it would complete asinine. You yearn for a game that doesn’t and will not exist.

It might be integral to the playerbase, but that is because the playerbase has changed over from hardcore niche players to casuals who don't know shit. Removing flea is a step towards making Tarkov hardcore, something which it was always supposed to be.
@@Sillssa you hit the nail on the head on a few of these points. It doesn’t fit the theme one bit. The traders have locations where they are based. It’s still in the menus but they are part of the theme. The flea market is 100% a reason for bsg to not have to develop the game. Gunsmith items should be trader items. Some should be locked behind a quest that makes sense to unlock them. If a quest requires a key make it a STATIC spawn like machinery - unknown. If the door should be the 40 use normal simply a barter to the trader that gave the quest. And that trader should have the barter for the level they give the quest. So you don’t have to get your traders level 3 before getting a level 15 quest done. Crafting - bartering - quests need to be revamped in order to remove the flea market it’s 100% doable. My only worry with them removing the flea market is I don’t believe Bsg plays their game so they don’t know what they are breaking till after they break it. So just like they did first two weeks they rip it out and see what happens.
Amazing video, completely agree with every point you made honestly. people get too consumed in flipping items and making the funny number go up that they completely ignore that the games meant to be a survival game, with an abundance of money and complete availability of gear that tension you get from having good gear is gone same with the rewarding feeling of getting out with good gear or items.

I've never had more disagreement on a topic in Tarkov, there's people that say "I want flee because I have a job I don't want to quest' and then the direct opposite saying "I DON'T want flea because I have a job and I don't want progression ramping up", I was totally against flea being taken away this wipe and wanted it so bad, now that I have everything I want from the flea I realize I'm a dog chasing cars, I got what I wanted and now I don't know what to do. Flea has genuinely ruined the game since it's introduction and I'm confident in saying it

I have literally 24 hours a day to play every day, and the Flea is absolutely a must in this game. That's why it was invented by players themselves before it was added to the game. You could just trade items then, after all, and that's exactly what people did. The game was much better when flea was on level 5 and completely unrestricted, and this wipe has been the worst for me since I started playing. And I played a lot during 12.12.
Honestly i loved the lack of flea this wipe, felt a little bit like the old tarkov days. Only things i rly missed was buying some keys i couldnt find for the life of me, and having an injector case felt meh without buying stims on flea. Apart from that, i loved it. Felt real nice to appreciate items for their function again rather than just their monetary value.

Then may be they should make it more difficult? Because the game got way easier with those changes. There were less PMCs in the raids, and those that were present avoided PvP. As a result, I leveled to 42 several days faster than usual. But getting all the FiR items for the hideout was extremely tedious at the same time.
like it or not flea is still way to important to the game and I doubt BSG will have a better solution to replace it. They need to focus on finding a solution that is well recieved by the vast majority as well and not rely on big streamers, who are basically done with the game in a week with or withou these changes, to dictate how flea gets changed in the future. I do like how they are offering surveys to get player input to guage a reaction to any current and future changes. Hoping they can find some way to fix the game we love without destroying the integrity of the game.
23000h player here, this was the worst beginning of the wipe for me, no space in stash, no keys, no armor, no ammo, no hideout items because they have to be FIR, non stop bugs and cheaters, i feel sorry for the people who dont have the biggest version of the game and the additional storage, however, you cant buy lvl 5/6 plates or bullets like M80, you will eventually have to do the quests anyway
agree to some degre, since it for sure was more fun to run lvl 4 trader stuff for a month or 2. meanwhile majority of players dont even have 545 ps rounds. meaning basicly imortal first months

Sure, streamers and people who play a lot (of whom I’m not an exception) have enough money to where they don’t have to care about it anymore, but if you were to make an average for most players, I’d say they’re below the “poverty line” so to speak. It’s important to include the average 2hr/day Timmy in the discussion as well, for he and many others of his like make up the major playerbase
At a certain point, you just gotta consider playing something else. The game is past its prime never to return, with BSG either ignorant or pushing forward the design decisions that are frustrating you. There are other, more rewarding, horizons to seek out if you desire them. It's simply a matter of if you have the strength to leave a game you use to love.

as a dude who have like, 3-4 hours daily to play (most times less) I be fine if the flea would be gone, i already do my builds around trader barters to save money, since i dont scav very often...and even i have 10m rubles it is kinda of joke honestly. I did have A LOT of fun early wipe, everyone running shit guns blasting without silencer...the only thing that really pissed me off its keys, it took me soooooo much time to get them, the barters sucks would love MORE barter for keys. And wouldn't It be better if traders had even more utility? So many quests that just simply give you an insignificant amount of cash and actual garbage most times. Let me unlock attachments and different ammos with every quest. Would make me feel so much better doing mind numbing quests knowing there was something valuable at the end of it.
@@MeBoost id say 70% of the quests are fucking useless. Quests should unlock MORE barters, more gun parts, stuff that you actually use instead of a gun and some ammo.
While I do believe the flea market has made raiding feel less rewarding, it is asinine to think the flea market should be removed with the state the game is in currently. The game has been built around the flea market. Look at quests, primarily gunsmith, and the hideout. You need so many items for level 2 and 3 upgrades. In order for the game to feel rewarding without being overly grindy, many aspects of the game need to change. Raise the amount of loot everywhere, add more items for barter with the traders, and remove found in raid hideout. If you remove the flea market, you do not need found in raid hideout upgrades. Also, change the name of found in raid to be Quest eligible. The title is misleading at best
I feel like the casuals who came over from casual games once they feel off, have absolutely ruined Tarkov and changed what it's about with their constant cries.
I mean the trade off to getting around vendor rep via the flea is the ~2-4x markup. Theyre making the game *tedious* not "hardcore" like they want it to be. Sifting through bags of trash for a key that im going to use once for a quest isnt "hardcore" its tedious for the sake of being tedious. I like the idea of no flea but they *will not implement this change properly if they do it* they will fuck it up. Theyll remove flea, not add fuck all else to traders, not buff loot in raid to compensate until a year later. BSG is a masterclass in "excellent ideas, dog shit implementation" Dont give me no its in beta shit, i fucking love the game but its live service minus the typical live service shit thats labeled as a "beta" so they can just "oops my bad, beta testing still" their way out of any and all piss poor choices
"Made surviving raids rewarding", lol. What that actually means is "Oh, 3 energy saving lamps! I'm leaving immediately and just staying AFK near the extract because I need 111 of them." Very rewarding gameplay indeed, it certainly doesn't incentivize not playing the game.

No, I'm not wasting even more time than I need to. I don't think you realize what 111 of any item means. I collected every energy saving lamp I found, I extracted with the vast majority of them, and still, by the time I was building Gear Rack level 3, I was 13 lamps short. I had every other item ready, with exception of far-forward items, because I'm not getting those - I don't like playing labs. You're blaming me for playing in an unfun way, but there's no fun way to collect 111 of found in raid energy saving lamps. You can't craft them, you can't get them reliably in any other way, you just have to go and hit up a ridiculous number of tech crates, toolboxes and drawers.
There should be other avenues of getting hideout items, but really what I'm concentrating on what an arbitrary excersize it is to use the flea. Couldn't there be a better design to get the things you want without having a system that has so many negative side effects?

Despite the tone of the video, Tarkov will never die purely based on the fact that it is the only game that does what it does with so much depth. It is an insane project that no major studio would even risk attempting to emulate 1:1. I love this game. I also really hate this game. I have no choice but to play Tarkov if I want this experience.

I be fine if the flea would be gone, i already do my builds around trader barters to save money, since i dont scav very often...and even i have 10m rubles it is kinda of joke honestly.
I did have A LOT of fun early wipe, everyone running shit guns blasting without silencer...the only thing that really pissed me off its keys, it took me soooooo much time to get them, the barters sucks would love MORE barter for keys.

And wouldn't It be better if traders had even more utility? So many quests that just simply give you an insignificant amount of cash and actual garbage most times. Let me unlock attachments and different ammos with every quest. Would make me feel so much better doing mind numbing quests knowing there was something valuable at the end of it.

Quests should unlock MORE barters, more gun parts, stuff that you actually use instead of a gun and some ammo.

While I do believe the flea market has made raiding feel less rewarding, it is asinine to think the flea market should be removed with the state the game is in currently. The game has been built around the flea market. Look at quests, primarily gunsmith, and the hideout. You need so many items for level 2 and 3 upgrades. In order for the game to feel rewarding without being overly grindy, many aspects of the game need to change. Raise the amount of loot everywhere, add more items for barter with the traders, and remove found in raid hideout. If you remove the flea market, you do not need found in raid hideout upgrades. Also, change the name of found in raid to be Quest eligible. The title is misleading at best

I mean the trade off to getting around vendor rep via the flea is the ~2-4x markup. Theyre making the game *tedious* not "hardcore" like they want it to be. Sifting through bags of trash for a key that im going to use once for a quest isnt "hardcore" its tedious for the sake of being tedious. I like the idea of no flea but they *will not implement this change properly if they do it* they will fuck it up. Theyll remove flea, not add fuck all else to traders, not buff loot in raid to compensate until a year later. BSG is a masterclass in "excellent ideas, dog shit implementation"

"Made surviving raids rewarding", lol. What that actually means is "Oh, 3 energy saving lamps! I'm leaving immediately and just staying AFK near the extract because I need 111 of them." Very rewarding gameplay indeed, it certainly doesn't incentivize not playing the game.
You dont have to play like that and if you sacrifice your time and shit for 3 lamps , go for it bro , i just play the game and if i die , it is what it is.
No, I'm not wasting even more time than I need to. I don't think you realize what 111 of any item means. I collected every energy saving lamp I found, I extracted with the vast majority of them, and still, by the time I was building Gear Rack level 3, I was 13 lamps short. I had every other item ready, with exception of far-forward items, because I'm not getting those - I don't like playing labs.
You're blaming me for playing in an unfun way, but there's no fun way to collect 111 of found in raid energy saving lamps. You can't craft them, you can't get them reliably in any other way, you just have to go and hit up a ridiculous number of tech crates, toolboxes and drawers.
There should be other avenues of getting hideout items, but really what I'm concentrating on what an arbitrary excersize it is to use the flea. Couldn't there be a better design to get the things you want without having a system that has so many negative side effects?
