I got a great bougainvillea in a pot last year from an elderly man who couldn't take care of it anymore. We live in Canada, my plant has been doing well and has bloomed now twice during the year I've had it. We live in Canada where it is cold but it has been doing well inside, I am bringing it out after May 24 weekend!
My beautiful bougainvillea sat outside in our hot Baltimore summer - much sun, but not all day. It never bloomed. Only 3 maybe at the end of September. I want to repot it - but I will prune it back a bit now, will add some fertilizer and hopefully it will bloom in doors over the winter. Thanks for your tips.
You have given very good information about Bougainvillea plant and given good tips. It is my favorite plant. Bougainvillea and its colorful look very beautiful.
I live in Pennsylvania and planted 3 small cuttings of bougainvillea in pots and it's very hot this summer and I am hoping they survive. I plan to take them inside the house in cold weather....Louisa
They all make your balcony look 10x attractive. I recently kinda have developed a love for Bougainvillea. So started with two new plants from Nursery today. I've a few questions for you, would be very helpful if you answer: 1) Adding kitchen waste like veggies, banana peel, coffee grounds, other fruits peels. Won't it induce rotting or fungus to the roots of the plant? 2) Can I add a spoonful of urea once a month instead of other compost or any other fertilizer? 3) How about the composition: 10% gravels, 20% cow dung, 70% garden soil for potting new plants in a bigger pot? 4) How should I (or should I even) prune it to make a creeper out of it? Thanks in Advance!
Thanks for sharing you ability how to put ferlizer with organic soil.actually i love bombels that wgat i call this flower and I have notice that your bongaivilla is more beautiful and attractive. Thats why im eager to follow your explanation and im hoping that i can make it very well because this is my first time i heard this from you..Im grateful to have this vedeos. Thanks a lot.
Thank you !thank you 🙏🏼 ! Mine grow inside... it HATES THE HEAT AND DIRECT ☀️ SUN! I live in Phoenix, Arizona. When it is in the heat it wilts soooooo much! It looks dead after being left out.
I love everything about your vlogs and thank you so very much for your training, tips, and tools! My bougainvillea suffers outside yet sends its flowers to the sun and light of the window to attempt to attract bees. The inside temps range from 70-80 degrees. And by noon my room is well lit and horrid heat is beating at my door. It’s vines are full and about 8 feet long. I want to trim it down and wish it liked heat more. Would it be in shock if I trimmed it to its base for a move to a new home?? I’d be shocked ! I talk to my plants lovingly and they definitely respond
@@Urbanscapegardening Sub rabhat!! Thank you so much, Ji🙏🏼Its a full and happy baby with beautiful orange and pink ..... ummm lol.. sorry ...colorful paper wrappers around the tiny white flowers 😃. This is a type of plant that I see A LOT in houses where owners NEVER do any of the things mentioned here, except watering and are absolutely beautiful and big! Even more amazing, I have seen many empty lots or empty houses where all plants are dead and nobody to water them and still, big, beautiful and blooming! So I'm not sure about worrying about all this care steps...
That’s TRUE for established, mature plants. Getting this plant started is hard. I’ve killed 8 so far and every time I learn something new. With this channel my current bougainvillea is thriving , which is a miracle for me. I’d definitely follow his advice on care and planting.
Apart from the video which is very informative and helpful as well, your voice needs all the appreciation! It's such a soother, I mean I can totally listen to them as podcasts. Keep going with the good work !! Good wishes!
My bougainvillea is losing all its flowers. Could overwatering cause this? It's getting plenty of sunlight and I don't think I'm watering too much but I don't know what else could be causing all the flowers to fall off. I love your videos! Your plants are just beautiful!!
Thelma Sitchon also used bone meal on my bougainvillea which resulted in an abundance of colorful grafts 😍 I use the Espoma brand which you could purchase at Home Depot or Lowe’s in store or online!

Hi, thanks for the tips. A quick question: is it advisable/possible to bunch all the branches around a single central stake? Owing to space constraint in a small balcony garden.
