I keep watching these episodes and can't help but think, I need these guys to spend a whole week with me at my house.
I've been a builder for many years and have seen quite a fair bit of sheds. The plans in ryan's package ruclips.net/user/postUgkxB7IXYxLzb_Ichhe45zM3Im5xfEiSp9vB have some of the nicest looking sheds i've seen in a while.
Very efficient demonstration, but could have taken ten more seconds at the end to shoot the final product from a couple of different angles.

I'm not going to lie, that's a spectacular intimate outdoor space. Well done.
I loved this makeover and the fact that the owners were so involved in the makeover. It is unbelievable that it was all done in one day!!!! Beautiful results. I loved the Japanese Red Maple in the corner. I would have liked to the the area with the corridor and see how it came out. Thanks for this video, many great ideas to implement! Greetings from Miami, FL May 2020
Just shows what can be done with a little work and some well placed plants to create a small piece of nature. Awesome job guys. Priceless!!
I find it funny how he made a video about how to plant a tree, where he talks about how you have to loosen the roots if they are circling and in this video he just said screw it and just planted the pot bound Japanese maple lol
Maybe that's part of hindering the growth so it doesn't get huge
really doesnt matter, tree is smart
The Japanese maple leaf is so colorful and the shape is basically enrichment for your garden.
This video reminds of my grandfather and the plants he planted in the backyard. He was such a beautiful human being always giving back, especially to nature.
What a graceful curve you have cut, Roger. Josie was impressed.
It's fun to see Roger so happy and excited.
from 0 to 100 real quick, this guy is a legend, he definitely knows his profession
This was so dang wholesome. I love his accent too.
Vastly improved and quite beautiful for a small area. Great job!
“Ohh ya it’s my pleasure I had a lot of fun......CUTTT!!!!!!!!!” Ran out of film
So fake its funny.
"Now, for yoah gahden...a little stahtah fertilizah..."
Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "landscaping pictures backyard" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Giyily Landscaping Yatty - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.
I love this! I wish you had more urban yard videos
My first time to watch a video like this & I would say it helps a lot!!
“Alright Josie spread it out”
I said the same thing to ur mom last night
Good to see Roger’s better.
Roger getting it done like a real pro.
I love this guy! This video has been the most useful for DIY!
Simple and very beautiful
I really liked your design but wish you would have given a better view of the finished product.
I'm Canadian... is that a Boston accent? It's charming.
5:10 Put down the mulch and make sure you don't cover them up
Dumps mulch all over plants**
Haha i know right and then he is just like perfeck 😂
Lmao
Hahaha!!
That's a beautiful looking yard!
Watching this from the UK. Great little yard. Brilliant bit in landscaping 👌
makes me want this winter to end so i can work on the yard!
that's a hell of an improvement
Nice effect for such a small space.
In California central valley fruit basket of the world we have been in a servicer drought for over six years with no mountain snow fall in Yosemite national park. The homeowners and renters are taking out the grass and planting Bush, enrichment grass, Shrubs and trees.
this really helped me build my base on Minmus. ty
Lol
:D
I learn something new everyday
3:33: look at the chartreuse color.
I about died. LOL!
I wish they showed the whole garden complete.
Beautiful plants
Love that guy’s accent.
Seemed like Roger had tickets to the Sox game he had to get back to

hey, and you know what, i would pay his ass to tell me what to do too! this man is brilliant lmao
Damian Cooper ..
I would pay him to do the same with me. Awesome designer with the exterior and you get to learn
Beautiful small garden
He looks like he would tell his customers "I'll show you how to do it, but I won't be doing your work for you"
it is a good example of a small garden design events, i just liked the video.
Every garden needs a statement piece. Here's a sad pine tree!
lmaoo
That tree is toast! Surprised he didn't say anything about it.
The end result looks great!
That yard is nice now!
+Donna Buglione "yard"
This Old House Please helps me with my 1900 year old house

5:50 LMAO they must have done that take a couple times, producer was like "come on, really try to sound excited" then the idiot over-sold it

Well done for downing it
I can't find stahtah fertilizah anywhere...anyone know why
40 years ago had me for a sec! 🤣
This was great! I’m redoing a part of my yard but I need this guys energy 🫠
Ficou charmoso demais!Lindo!!!
Hey this message is for Rodger cook well I made a raised bed myself it's made out of an old diesel Tire I have a green thumb and I also have a John Deere tractor
My garden is coming up good thanks
this became too nice for baltimore!
2:44 that's so funny for some reason.
I was laughing too!
I love this show
Perfect yard
Roger was doing a speedrun on this yard.
I would not have put sod in. why worry about cutting that little patch? A ground cover a pond or a fire pit would have been better
also, a small tree like a magnolia or even a trumpet vine would have worked better in the corner
+per sebra Some people love grass (me.) Nothing looks better than a nicely manicured lawn. Green green green.
+Steve “Steve-O” Last Name LOL, if you want to keep a postage stamp size lawn manicured, more power to you.
per sebra I actually said that before I saw the finished thing. I thought they were going to do that whole side as grass. That small little patch...eh.
That sod made that landscaping !!!!!!!!!!!!
***** I would NEVER lay down that stuff, unless it was a putting green. I putting green would be fun for a small space like that.
as always great job Roger
I'm really surprised that the soil around the maple root system wasn't loosened. They roots need to be loosened and spread out, heading out from the tree, not circling it. It's as tho it is still in the pot. That's a rookie mistake.
Doesn't look like one needs special tools...I wonder how long it took them to do each step. ?? Nice video .Thank you.
Amazing man.
Good job..I like this video
I love this video. I love ANY video from This Old House. But I have to laugh, especially at 1:21 when you are digging down to loosen up the soil. I know it sucks for me, but I live in a 15-year old development where farm land existed before my house. It's in San Tan Valley AZ and wow, going down with a shovel deeper than about 1/4" is a mystery, let alone impossible. I'm not asking for a solution, but I just had to comment that even though that looks like a lot of work, be thankful you do not live where I do.
I am not kidding, it's that bad. I dug a hole to plant a Lantana, and before we planted, I filled it with water, in the middle of our 120° summer!!! The next day, the water was down about 1" but still there. I suspect the 1" left in the form of evaporation, but seemed like none of it absorbed and left through the sides. Basically like a hole in concrete. :(
EDIT: I did find that if I water the ground with a length of soaker 1/4" for a couple of hours per day, the stuff turns to quicksand. THEN I can actually dig down. This has to be the hardest soil on the planet! I cannot WAIT to move to a place with fertile soil. Anyway, great video! THANKS!
He put a holly tree which will get crazy big and a Japanese red maple that can grow 30-40 feet in a tight area, whatever.
Brent Greear yeah but it's gonna be a great shade..
I agree. The holly is a BAD idea! I have one that is a 25 ft tall nightmare.
That's why you prune...
Maybe the holly was a dwarf cultivar, if it exists.
Great idea. thanks for posting
Landscape dins', I love this
Roger: Throw some compost in there
Lady: *proceeds to throw the compost over the fence 😂
that looks so good
THANKS GOOD LOOKIN OUT.
What plant is he planting at 3:48? Skiplar? I understand it's a fastigiate plant but can't find a Skiplar/ler anywhere. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Lol it’s been 2 years you probably already know but incase you don’t it’s a skip laurel
His back pockets be touchin'
Great videos
This video helped me a lot
very nice
Roger: So, what do ya think?
Homeowner: OH, I THINK ITS GREAT!!!!
The Japanese Maple was badly root bound. The roots should have been cut before planting it.
Nickolai is correct, rack out and trim some roots as well as pruning back the top(foliage and branches) and the tree will be healthy. Without, the roots may girdle worse and perhaps kills the tree. If he prunes it as mentioned, yearly, he can keep it small and vigorous.
agreed... maybe though he wanted to give them a bonsai !!! lol
Decent👍🏼
That dialogue at the end really lost it. Just give Barry Kripke a kick on the ass on the way out next time.
+meedily I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else trying to find out backyard garden ideas try Loctavan Beautiful Landscape Strategy (just google it ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got cool success with it.
Wow
This kind of job goes a lot quicker when you have a wheelbarrow guy waiting around the corner with gravel.
Or editing magic
😂😂😂
underneath the sand, the fabric will start to rip as you sit, mice the chairs back and forth, adjust, etc
Nice job.
This was awesome!
looks amazing! nicest backyard in bmore!
straitpepperdiet Yeah tell me about it..... It’s a rare sight these days. Too much crime and drugs hurt Baltimore. Why can’t we all get along.
This is so inspirational thank you 😊
nice... looks good...
Nice
very good idea 😂😃😄
I also wanted to plant number of trees in my garden can you give some fertilizer details so that it can benefit.
very nice .
I have a question: How much should you be charged monthly if you have rocks, for your yard to be taken care of a month? Nothing but dirt in the back yard.
ayjay36 0
extraordinarily super
Baltimore? they must've edited out the gun shot sounds!
What fabric would you recommend to use for the sitting area?
nice work
Nice job mate.
Did you do job on artificial grass project as well.
If you have any kind of video.
Please send me.
Thanks
You guys see the cutout in the fence for the tree? That will butt tight in a few years ruining that part of the fence...
