Measurements for beanie hat:
Width of crown:
Preemie: 3"-3.5" (7.5cm - 9cm)
Newborn to 3mon: 4”-4.5” (10cm - 11.5cm)
3 to 6m: 5" (12.5cm)
6 to 12m: 5.25" (13.5cm)
12 to 24m: 5.5"-6" (14cm - 15.25)
Toddler: 6" (15.25cm)
Child: 6.5" (16.5cm)
Teen/Small Adult: 6.5"-7" (16.5cm - 18cm)
medium Adult: 7"-7.25" (18cm - 18.5cm)
Large Adult: 7.5" (19cm)
XL Adult: 8" (20.25cm)
Total Length:
Preemie: 4" (10cm)
Newborn to 3m: 5"-5.5" (12.5cm - 14cm)
3 to 6m: 6” (15cm)
6 to 12m: 6.25" (16cm)

Note: To make this crunch stitch hat in any other size, you will continue to increase following same sequence of the circle until you have the measurement for width of the crown and then continue with row 1 of the stitch pattern until you have one inch to two inches left from total height depending how wide you want your brim. You will then continue with last 3 rows of the brim which is the same for all sizes.

When I tried the half double slip stitch it looked terrible and I didn’t use that stitch I ended up double crocheting the whole hat then at the end I did the forward half double backward half double to end it and it came out very cute so if anyone else has that issue double crocheting it also looks pretty! I knew and was listening to at the end of the first color. I wish it showed how to change colors. You say the direction very fast. I bought the pattern and it doesn’t match the video. After row 5 it states to cut the yarn. I don’t know how to strainer color.

Yes most likely is your tension. Try using a slightly bigger hook size

On the 1/2 double crochet and slip stich part, do you turn it from one side to side each time or just repeat each line?
Yes you turn for every row
Could I use a larger gauge yarn or does that mess up the pattern? I was hoping to use the bernat baby blanket yarn to match the baby blanket I made.
With the measurements provided you can use any yarn weight and hook size. Just keep in mind the measurements as you follow the video. Good luck 👍

I’ve tried this hat three times now and I give up I cannot follow. I can’t seem to get the right number of stitches and then it ends up looking wonky. I’ve tried to slow down the speed but I still can’t get it right. I can’t find the pattern written down anywhere so I unable to double check where I’m going wrong.

I love your pattern. I just have a question though. For the crown, I reached 11cm after 4th round itself at 48 stitches. So in the next round, I will start the pattern. But should I somehow make 60 stitches in the pattern, or just follow your steps to have half double crochet - slip stitch pattern, which would lead to 48 stitches in the next round? Will that make the hat smaller?
You will continue with the 48 stitches and continue with the pattern because you already have the measurement for the crown.

I really like the hat but mine pattern doesn’t stand out like yours. Are any of your stitches going into the back loop or are both stitches going through both loops? It looks like back loops in the video.
Both loops as mentioned in the video
Are you working the body of the hat in the back loops?
No. It’s just a hdc and a slip st and you go through both loops on the hdc.

I found this a very difficult stitch to figure out, especially the row turning and where to start a row. Didn't help that is was really hard to see your tiny white stiches (not close enough). I gave up and unravelled the whole thing. 😢
You can slow the video and from your own screen you can zoom in.
I love the hat and I think you do a great job but I think you really talk fast and I’m 74 and I just couldn’t seem to keep up. Thank you.
Something that helps me is slowing down the speed of the video. There should be a settings button (three dots or a cog looking thing) in the upper right corner of the video. Hope that helps!

@@CrochetForBabyYes so I did see it and nothings changed. I watched another crocheted chanel and her video was bery crisp and clear and I did nothing differenr to my phone. I dont know. Oh well.
