Hello 👋 my name is Sara welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet this 0 to 3 months newborn baby hat. I made this little hat with the alpine crochet stitch which is the same stitch I used to make this adult hat • Crochet hat for women ...
To make this easy crochet newborn baby beanie hat I used medíum #4 yarn with a 5mm hook. I used 50 grams of yarn. You can also make it slightly bigger by just changing your hook size. See below.
Newborn use 4mm or 4.5mm hook with #4 yarn
0-3 months use 5mm hook with #4 yarn
3-6 months use 5.5mm hook with #4 yarn
    6-12months use 6mm hook with #4 yarn
    12-24months use 6.5mm hook with #4 yarn
You can also make it in any size for any age from newborn baby to adults with the following standard measurements. Just make sure to stretch your brim a bit when measuring the head circumference. Also stay within the stitch multiple of 2 for your brim. Start reducing your hat when you have 1.5 to 2 inches left from the total height of your hat for the size that you’re making.
    Average head circumference:
    Preemie: 12”-13" (30.5cm - 33cm)
    Newborn to 3m: 13”-14" (33cm - 35.5cm)
    3 to 6m: 14”- 15" (35.5cm - 38cm)
    6 to 12m: 15.5"-16" (39.5cm - 40.5cm)
    12 to 24m: 16.5"-18" (42cm - 45.5cm)
    Toddler: 18"-19" (45.5cm - 48cm)
    Child: 19"-21" (48cm - 53.5cm)
    Teen/Small Adult: 21" (53.5cm)
    Medium Adult: 22" (56cm)
    Large Adult: 23" (58.5cm)
    XL Adult: 24" (61cm)
    Total Length:
    Preemie: 4" (10cm)
    Newborn to 3m: 5"-5.5" (12.5cm - 14cm)
    3 to 6m: 6” (15cm)
    6 to 12m: 6.25" (16cm)
    12 to 24m: 6.5"-7" (16cm - 17.5cm)
    Toddler: 7"-7.5" (17.5cm - 19cm)
    Child: 7.5"-8" (19cm - 20cm)
    Teen/Small Adult: 8" (20cm)
    Medium Adult: 8.5"(21.5cm)
    Large Adult: 8.5”- 9” (21.5cm - 23cm)
    XL Adult: 9"-9.5" (23cm - 24cm)

Hi, this pattern is beautiful! In the 2nd row, you did 1 FPDC. 1DC. 1FPDC. 1HDC. the repeat pattern is 1FPDC & 1 DC until the end. Is the 1HDC an error? Or should it be continued throughout the pattern?

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  3 года назад +6

Yes it’s an error. It should be DC. I didn’t notice 😬

The best way to syart a hat.. always have seen a video starting from the top. Bythe time u reach the circumference of the head region, only then u realise its bigger/smaller than what u actually wanted. And its too late to fix it. This is a nice one! 👍

Adore your pattern. I've made 3 already. If I purchase the written pattern will it be more specific than what is written below? Meaning if i do a bigger hat will it be specific on how many rows etc.? Your video says 13 inches but details below shows cm that isn't the same.

I’m so sorry. Watch the tutorial carefully to make sure you’re doing it exactly like I show. You just make a fpdc then a dc. Sounds like you’re making a dc decrease if at the en of the row it’s shrinking.
