Hi friend,
In this video I am going to show you how to make cute little gifts by mixing air dry clay and instant coffee, yes you are reading right, two of my passions mixed together, i love crafting with clay and also anything coffee, painting with it, drinking it in the morning, or that amazing coffee smell, i love it all, so i experienced once again and decided to mix it all together to make some cute Christmas gifts, or a present for any occasion.

Use mod podge it works its a sealer and glue plus mod pudge has dishwasher sealer. I got it on amazon prices is good. Coffee color came out nice rich earth tone color. A plus

of course it would go mucky - as coffee dissolves! try using peppercorns to get a speckled effect instead - I just grind the pepper over the clay then roll it and shape as normal. that worked for me.
Thanks! I ended up with really cool dishes after using the spray sealer, i used the pepper in my other video and nail polish, stamps and acrylic paint! Just wanted to try something different! The thick ones a bit, just spray the sealer on, two good all around covers, and it will be good !

You can also seal air dry clay with dishwasher safe mod podge and it will be water proof. I make my own watercolor pallets that way and it works great. I use a few or maybe several coats but no problems so far. I also use model magic or homemade clay, if that helps any.

Nice! Is there anything you confining your airdry clay with so you can eat from it and clean it in with some dishwasher soap?
You would have to completely coat it in a food safe resin type coating. But even then, you can get lifting and cracking at some point.
Havent found anything for that yet... im sorry, and trust me i have looked online and done research on it, i have only done that for pottery class and you need a kiln for it. 🤷🏻♀️

Not if you spray seal it, use a good non yellowing spray and you will be ok! 😊

Watching this video made me subscribe. First of many I watched using air dry clay with great results. Some of the techniques in making the bowls and plates ended in sub par results and yours look worth selling in stores or on line. That’s why I subscribed to your channel. I’m not sure what art medium is and wonder if there’s a substitute I can use instead that will give similar results?
hi marci, i don't know if i missed in the video but: how exactly did you make the bubbles? is it just medium + coffee stirred?
Its a bit of dark coffee mix and you add hand soap or shower soap then u blow on it with a straw and mix it really well so that u get tiny bubbles and voila! Coffee bubbles!!
I think they r not able to sustain for long. Would prefer polymer clay?

Hi! Can I use modge podge instead of the glue medium for the coffee?
Do you mean for the mix where you add coffee to paint with? If so yes, you can even use pva glue, but as a sealer use the spray on sealer so it wont smudge! 💪🏻😊

Does anyone know if this specific brand of clay smells? I've been thinking of getting it, but I keep seeing reviews that it has a strong smell?
It has a little smell, but nothing too crazy. It's like smelling wet sand but with a little bit of chemicals

Not this clay, but real clay thats baked in a kiln you could.
You can seal with hard spray as cheap alternative to the gloss sealer. Also google bicarb clay

It's simply amazing....I am in love with your videos. . Your clay looks different..it's white in color...if I don't get this clay then can I use regular clay which is used in pottery making but it's brown in color...

You can use any clay you have, just follow the instructions on the packaging, bake it or let it air dey according to the instructions it comes with, and you can always spray paint it white or what ever color you want to, using acrylic paints or spray.

Probably not as air dry clay cannot get wet, so you wouldn't be able to clean it. Also, you'd have to be careful about what paint/top coat you used as well.
