Thanks Ali 😊 hope u have lots of fun!! I have another video similar to this, but i used coffee to give them a different look, super simple instant coffee techniques to make affordable and beautiful dishes! I batch make some times and give them away to friends and fam! 😉 thanks for stoping by and happy crafting!!
I started making these this evening. I've made some black and pink peppercorn dishes and a monstera leaf. I'll let you know how they turn out ... 😊 At the same time my daughter was making a doll. So relaxing making things together ❤ Thank you so much for your video Marci.
ooohh Sam, sooo happy to read this, you made my day! I love crafting with my kiddoes too, and kids this days crave attention and time together and this simple crafts make it so much fun, how old is your girl? i have all boys and they love coffee painting, and my oldest is learning to sew,(he is gonna be 9 this halloween) they also love printing paper cartoons and building them up, they look like squares hehehe but super fun and easy. thanks so much for your sweet comment, loved it! 😘
Thanks Dawn, while I was making these, my kids were making accessories for their lego people...like toilets and swords... hahahhaha fancy!! And yes, this is my second voice over! Yyeeiii me! Glad u liked it! 😘
i tried these out and i loved how they turned out! thanks for sharing! i kept finding ones that used polymer clay not air dry clay so this was very helpful!
bella guimar so glad you tried them out and that you loved how they turned out, feel free to share them with me if you like and make as many as you want since they make great gifts for friends and family on the affordable and personalized side of things!! Hehehhe have an amazing day! 😘
Hey Marci thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial. Could you please help me out with what exact colors I should use? May I use acrylic colors? Will the colors bleed later if I wash the dish later. Please help ❤️
These are adorable! I have always wanted to try air-dry clay, but I am not very adventurous. Maybe you will give me the courage to try. Thanks for sharing, Marci!
Anne my darling!!! Soooo happy to see your comment!! Please give it a try, and share it with me!!! This is fun, messy and relaxing!! Hahahha good messy of course! They hold crafts supplies in an artsy way! Tons of kisses!! 😘
Really cool! I make jewellery using Airdry clay and recently I've also started reusing my hand-wash bottles by styling them with clay so they can be reused. I've uploaded a few videos as well. I personally use oil instead of water it gives a very smooth finish and you don't need to sand after clay is dried
That is awesome! good luck with you channel, we need as much crafty brains as possible in this world! and i am pro recycling bottles and what ever is good!!!
Ohhkk. That helps a lot 🙏😊 Also, is there something that can be applied to the bowl itself, instead of baking paper, so that the clay doesn't stick? My problem is, sometimes we have to shape the clay using the outside of the bowl and not inside. That sticks to the bowl n doesn't come off no matter whatt 😀. Hence the question. Thank you so much for your time dear 🙏😊 your work is awesome 👍😊
@@BAMSNotesSimplified_Medical maybe you could try baby powder, i have used plastic wrap too, but it depends on what clay you use, some are more wet and sticky than others
Hi i am going to try this to gift it for my sister's birthday and when I first saw this video 1 year ago i tryed to make the pepper design one and i didn't watch the video properly and i thought u used coffee to make the pepper design and when I used coffee after a few days it got stickey btw I love your videos 😀
Hi Marci. Beautiful art pieces . I had a question. Are these only for decoration or can be used for keeping edible stuff? And if no then how can we make those pieces? Thanks
this are not water resistant, but a subscriber told me there is a dishwasher safe mod podge that you could use, i have not tried this yet, so no experience there, but do check it out and see if that solves your problem. =)
This is only for decor, no eating or drinking on these plates or cups, it could be bad for your health, so keep them just for decor, or use real clay and a kiln to make it safe for eating on. ☺️
thank you for sharing us the tips ! love how u experimented with the crumbled paper balls and the ink pen, and reflected on what u learned from experimenting w it! thank u again, will definitely share on ig once i make something :)
Thanks so much! 😊and you are very welcome Amy, love sharing the good the bad and the super cool or ugly hehehhe will love to make more clay projects too, specially now that christmas is comming and that the pandemic is stil on, i am getting so many crafty mailing ideas i need to re arage my brain to make the happen, or at least try to.! have a great day and see you soon! =)
Soo cool! 😍😍 lovee this DIY! will try to make this! Can you wash this clay tray after it dried? Is it ok to put this water? how about wipe it with wet cloth for cleaning?
I have been inspired by you and am in the process of making smaller trinket dishes but by upcycling plastic containers as the armature for the dishes. Cracking is becoming an issue where I didn’t have problems with my larger plant pot containers that used plastic container armatures, too. Am I getting them too wet when trying to smooth them? Could my clay be too thick or having switch to a cheaper (not DOS POS? The red one) could that be it🤷♀️
No and no, you can clean them with a wet wipe but no dishwasher or food, sorry, but hey if you want food save maybe get the real clay and some places rent a space in the kiln for personal projects ☺️
Marcy I am new to air-dry Clay and I am so grateful that I came across your video because I was about to give up on doing anything with the air dry clay. I come across all of these videos about air-dry clay projects but their videos are not very inspiring and they are boring. Then I came across your video. I am so inspired now and I thank you so very very much from the bottom of my heart. I have 225 lb cases of air-dry clay because I use it for wine bottles. But I decided that I needed to find out how to do projects with the air dry clay besides the wine bottles because I have so much air dry clay now. Lol. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Much love going out to ya.😁
Sara Floyd I use watercolor brushes because they hold paint better, but mine are cheap ones because I used thicker paint, I did bot want to ruin the good ones hehehe just use brushes with softer bristles with your paint, and your brush marks will not be as noticeable or be there at all. Hope that helps! ☺️
hi Marci!!! thanks for sharing the tips! just wondering since you used mod podge to glaze it, does it make the trinket waterproof? i’m asking because I want to know what happens if i rinse the trinket with water once it’s done
NBAngel Wings that is really sweet! A gal told me that there is a dishwasher safe option for sealing it, i have never used that one, but maybe you can check it out!
Hello, I am very new at air dry clay crafts. I have tried several times just to make something simple. Before I can add a design my clay is stuck on the surface and tears when I go to pick it up. I use a plastic mat when working but it sticks to the mat. I purchased my clay from Dollar Tree. Can you suggest anything I should try. Thank you and I love your videos.

Does the clay not stick to the bowls while drying?
It shrinks a tiny bit, so it doesnt stick, plus you can add baking paper n then if that leaves any marks just sand it down 😉
Ohhkk. That helps a lot 🙏😊
Also, is there something that can be applied to the bowl itself, instead of baking paper, so that the clay doesn't stick?

I want to make this project with my students, I have a question where can I buy the waterproof stamps? can you give a suggestion please!!
Staz on ink, ints not the stamp is the permanent ink that makes it not smudge.
I've worked with polymer clay for YEARS, just now trying air dry.
Hey Marci! These are really cool stuffs , Just wanted to check how to get those glossy effect on moulds , could you please suggest :)

does air clay need to be heated to become hard? or just by exposing it to air?

What a lovely video. And so beautifully explained. Wanted to know what paint did you use? Watercolour/ acrylic?
acrylic, watercolor has too much water and will make the clay muddy, hope that helps. =)
